She does the best designs and is so meticulously and detailed oriented when it comes to the designs. The shape of my nails always come out right. I've gone to other salons in the past and the shape isn't right and the nail looks thick, but not here. My nails last longer and still look good after 6 weeks. I occasionally get a pedicure from them as well and they have a variety of pedicure options. The organic and lemon pedicures are great. This is salon is a 10 out of 10.

I asked for a rounded shape, and I honestly felt like my request frustrated my nail tech. The finished result had polish left on the sides and around the tops of my nails, and the polish was not applied smoothly. Several of the edges looked uneven as well. I'm really disappointed because I've continued coming back and genuinely wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, the quality hasn't been consistent, and this time I left feeling more disappointed than happy with my nails.

Unfortunately, the experience was so uncomfortable that I left before even getting my nails done. I came in wanting a simple pedicure with a light purple polish. I originally asked for the mid-tier pedicure, but I felt repeatedly pressured to upgrade to the most expensive option until I finally gave in. I also gave the technician the exact number of the polish color I wanted. She came back twice with different colors and kept telling me, "this one better," instead of bringing me the color I had chosen. I had to repeatedly insist that I just wanted the original color. The worst part was the actual pedicure. My feet did not feel particularly clean afterward, there was polish left on my skin, and the technician removed enough skin from my toe that I was bleeding and left with a visible raw area/gash. When I questioned her about what happened, she told me, "It's not that bad. It will be okay." I found that incredibly dismissive considering I was bleeding from a service that was supposed to be relaxing and leave my feet looking better. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable staying to have my nails done and left. So now, instead of leaving with my nails and toes done for my friend's wedding, I'm going to the wedding without my nails done and with a painful, visible injury on my foot. I really wish my choices had simply been respected from the beginning. I didn't want upgrades or different colors. I just wanted the pedicure I asked for and light purple polish. I definitely did not expect to leave bleeding.

This is not the first time this has happened here. If you have scheduled appointments and not enough employees you need to stop taking walk ins. Honestly horrible system at this salon. I recommend Mermaid Nails in Marina. They are appointment only, always kind and on time.

She used to work in Capitola, and I would travel from San Jose to Capitola every other months to get my nails done. So glad she's now in Salinas, the drive is more pleasant for my visit. I truly appreciate the strong quality nails and Helen's artistic talent. My nails lasted a whole month+ without breaking. I like everything French tips, so I would bring her an example picture of what I like and she would recreate the exact ones or revision a better style with a modern twist to it. She just gets my vibes these days! I just let her know what I'm wearing, the theme, and she just gets creative with it. Just sit back and enjoy the magical moment. My nails come out perfect every time, and remained healthy too. You will not be disappointed with Helen's work. She can get really busy at times, so appointments are recommended. Your nails' health will thank you later.

I thought I had enough length to shape them into a short almond/oval and try builder gel. Unfortunately, I left feeling very disappointed, especially after spending about an hour and a half and $80 plus tip. The shape was not what I had hoped for, and the sidewalls were over-filed, leaving the overall shape looking uneven and unflattering. I tried to convince myself that maybe the shape would grow on me, but that never happened. Within a day or two, I was on YouTube looking for ways to remove the builder gel because I was so unhappy with the results. I'll admit that I'm very particular about my nails, but I also believe that if you're paying for a service, the attention to detail and quality should be there. Unfortunately, this experience didn't meet my expectations, and I don't think I would return or recommend this salon based on my experience.
