Absolutely love them, I would recommend them to anyone with kids, please please bring you kids here even if it's just for a routine checkup. You will thank me for sure. From the moment you step in you know your in good hands, the staff treats you really well. They are very patient with kids quite the contrary to my previous experience at the dentist (impatient and rude). The best part was the TV mounted on the ceiling which plays your fav Netflix show, OMG! thats ingenious and makes such a huge difference, it calmed my kid down immensely. And at the end of the check up you get a golden coin to exchange for a toy and stickers, kids love that stuff....any anxiety of visiting the dentist henceforth is all gone. The reason that brought me here was because the treatment plan suggested at the previous dentists was very vigorous and harsh on a small child, but the doctor here took the time to sit down and explain to me the approach he would take (which was way simpler and more correct in my opinion) and I was immediately onboard. I can't stop saying nice things about them... I recommend them 100%. One more thing I forgot to mention, they are very accommodating and super responsive over the phone as well. read more

Hygienists have usually been good-great over the years. The team really worked well with my timid kiddo. For when he was a baby he was able to sit on my lap. The dentists are all professional. Scheduling is a little foo-y. There is always a super long, wait for your next appointment. The quality is worth the wait, but it is kind of annoying if you have multiple kids. I appreciate how they never use metal fillings. I like how there are TVs on the ceilings and the kids get to pick a Netflix show of their choice while their teeth are being cleaned. I like how the kids are given sunglasses to wear when being examined under the bright light. I like it. There are extra staff available to assist with x-rays. My kids enjoy the coins they earn and the prize machine they give out fun toothbrushes with popular characters on them. My kids all enjoy coming to the dentist, even if they have a cavity. read more

This dentist is absolutely awful. For reasons of convenience we have continued to go for years, but no longer. The dental care is adequate, but the office staff is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Every single time we go there is some issue with scheduling or billing or something else in which they cannot seem to get their act together so that they are properly organized; and on top of that they are unfailingly rude, unempathetic, and discourteous even though their lack of professionalism is the source of issues. Today was the last straw. They made us jump through hoops to get our current provider memeber ID, insisting that they could not look it up using SSN. After making several phone calls and much time wasted, they give us a paper which does not require the member ID, but only requires SSN to find the insurer... long story short they refuse to even acknowledge blaming us and lying that they even said what they clearly had said. The doctors allow this horrendous front office for years so it must come from the top. The doctor himself could care less about your experience, his attitude was literally just "pay us or we can't see your kids". !!!!STAY AWAY!!!! read more

My 3 children have been going here for many years. The staff is fabulous, the office is completely geared for kids. My kids actually ask when they can go back to the dentist they love it so much. The office is bright and cheerful, they have TV screens on the ceiling for the kids to watch cartoons while they are getting their cleaning or other work done. They get stickers and a prize afterwards plus a little bag with a new toothbrush and a sugar free lollipop. They can take three kids in the room at a time so it's super efficient if you have more than one. They are also very caring to kids having other work done. My 12yo needed to have some baby teeth removed as they were not coming out and Dr Bloom and the staff were so sweet to her and helped her overcome her anxiety about the procedure. Although we have always loved this practice, this last time, there was not a dentist in the office on the day of my daughter's cleaning to do an exam. I truly hope my insurance was not billed for a dentist seeing my child. I was told after my daughter was actually in the chair that I should have been notified that the dentist was not in the office that day (I was not). As a patient, you should be notified at the time of booking an appointment that this might be a possibility so that maybe another date could have been selected when a dentist is actually present to do an examination. read more

Quick and easy! Noemi our hygienist was absolutely wonderful with my 2 year old. she was kind and compassionate and was great at her job. Dr. Bloom was so nice and very informative. Clinical areas appeared clean and well kept and staff was very nice. Front desk staff didn't seem the most friendly but it may have just been the day - everyone else was wonderful. Dr. David was amazing with my elementary school age son who can be anxious and super sensitive for dental work. He and Miss Candy figured out what worked for him, and based their plan around his needs. We literally couldn't have asked for a better experience. The flexibility is unreasonable! I was 7 min late when I got in ofc to check in, made me go outside to call instead and check in so by that time it was 9 min late to then turn me away with my 2 boys for an 8:30am appt!! Never have I dealt with an office who could not understand how morning travel can be affected by traffic, accidents, etc. I'm sure they want you there in time to still make you sit & wait more than 20 min, absolutely ridiculous! glad I turned around and forgot about this office, no consideration for patients AT ALL read more

Unfortunately after 10 plus years with Dr.Bloom we will go elsewhere. My five year old is petrified and we were 11 minutes late, called to let them know. They said after 5 they cant accommodate us. We arrived and still were turned away, he was standing crying finally ready to go in. I was being charged for a child that was not mine but had the same last name as my child. after repeatedly asking them to remove the other child from my account. they did not. they refuse to give me my itemized billing history from day one of going there. the stuff has been unprofessional, rude and not helpful. claiming they can not help me. I'm going to apologize in advance for the length of this review, but I'd like to start with the positive things I have to say about Dr. Bloom and Dr. O (The Orthodontist) These doctors were wonderful and we had no issues with them at all. The office is kept in clean working order and this is where the positive points of my message end. If you are looking for a Dentist's staff to treat you, and your children, with respect and dignity, please find another dentist. On top of being told the wrong date for an appointment, they did not bother to inform us that our visits were no longer covered by our insurance. And because doing their job would actually require them to do their job, my husband was occasted in front of our 7 year old for the payment in full. Had I not been given the wrong date for this appointment, they could have dealt with me directly instead of disrespecting my husband in front of our completely innocent little girl. This was last week on 1/10/2019. And we have call logs of every phone call we've received since. 19 times on 2 separate phones, in a week. The way our family has been treated is for lack of a better word, revolting. I'm curious to know if Dr. Bloom realizes how deeply unprofessional his staff are, in which case it would completely change my opinion of him as a professional. My mom happens to be a medical office manager in East Granby. She and her team are not only appalled by their behavior, but are disgusted to know these people call themselves medical professionals. Smiles in Bloom will be paid as money becomes available, but our family is currently dealing with an income loss of nearly $75,000 and continuing to feed our children has become scarier everyday. It's gotten so bad that if something does change soon, our family is facing homelessness in about 3 months. We will never recommend this office to anyone we know personally, so I certainly do not recommend this office to anyone here on Yelp. read more

I'm all for following protocols and being safe, but being told my 10 week old infant could not come in was extremely infuriating. I make my children's appointments at the same day/time for convenience & this appointment had already been rescheduled 3 times in the last 6 months. I was not told anything prior to the appointment in any of the many texts I received to confirm my appointment regarding not being able to bring a baby in. I was told that I could come in, but that my 2 month old could not simply because she "did not have an appointment & siblings are not allowed" ok, great. So what should I do with my baby? If she was a mobile toddler I completely understand, but she is a 2 month old who wouldn't have left her infant carrier. My children went in alone, without me while I sat in the car with my youngest because I did not have anyone else with me to help. I will say the hygienist who came out to give me a recap on their appointment was very friendly & gave me a recap of their appointment. However, I will be finding a new dentist for our future visits. read more

I have always loved the dentist, Dr. Bloom. His front staff is less than to be desired. I always have problems when we go there or call there. They are rude, especially Ashley. I have had several problems with them when I call with overbooked appointments or appointments taking longer than six months or "immediate need" and then we get put on the cancellation list, which is great however it can be inconvenient. This happened once and Ashley's response was well we only have one dentist. When we go there, they are always having conversations with eachother to where you have to wait until they are done so they will help you. I have heard Ashley on the phone and then when she hangs up talks about the patient to whoever is standing there. If my kids didn't love Dr. Bloom so much, I would leave, but it will be hard to get them comfortable with another dentist. read more

When you walk in make sure you tell them about your insurance. They will not ask you for any insurance change (they will say during resto we dont ask we suppose patient have the same insurance) and at the end you have to pay everything. They will just say sorry. thatz it. read more

Dentist and RDH were amazing! The front staff were so so. Couldn't tell if one of the receptionist was moody due to being sick or just her personality. Appt was at 9am, asked about insurance at 915. Had a issue so I had to call my insurance company and that was resolved in ten minutes but then was told I missed my apt time......they were the ones running late. BUT they did end up taking me still and it was all worth it due to all the other staff members. I will keep going and have recommended them to two other people so far. Everyone has a bad day so can't judge off that one interaction with front staff. read more

I didn't care for them at all. I took my son for this first appointment there and had an issue with his insurance and they were nothing but nasty and unhelpful. I ended up paying out of pocket and they said it could later be refunded when I submitted his insurance card. Now been over a year and still haven't seen the $80.00 refund. read more

Had a few visits with Dr. Bloom, and he was very patient with my daughter. Unfortunately, the staff were very abrupt and rude which caused severe anxiety. We tried a few times to just get x-rays and were unsuccessful. Seems like in the past few months there has been a lot of turnover and the new staff seem to have never worked with children before.
