One such offering is the head spa scalp sanctuary therapy. As part of this service, Faith will analyze your scalp and hair roots using a microscope. She applies gentle pressure to certain pressure points in the head, neck and shoulder area along with aromatherapy, deep conditioning, facial masks, and hot towel/steam remedies. She uses essential oils and scrub masks to exfoliate the scalp, remove excess oils and/or debris, and hydrate the hair follicles. Alchemy Wellness studios head spa scalp sanctuary is one of my favorite services because it helps alleviate symptoms with dry scalp by promoting a healthy scalp and health hair growth, but most importantly, it helps with my relaxation and to loosen tight muscles in my head, face, neck and shoulders. I always leave feeling clean, rejuvenated and rested. I highly recommend this service!

As I got older, I began wanting to switch it up a little bit. I began with my hair being a light brown that would occasionally get naturally blonde streaks during summertime. I decided I wanted highlights and Jenn worked with me to give me different options that I could take for this process. She was incredibly accomodating and worked to make sure that my hair was how I wanted. She was willing to go the extra mile and make little changes and tone my hair if it was necessary just to be sure that I loved it extra. I now have perfect naturally dirty blonde hair that I love. I have never had any issue with her business and I highly recommend her hair salon for all ages. She is a bubbly individual and will make sure that you leave more than happy with your hair.

There is a comfortable waiting space where you can even have a cup of coffee and a biscotti. Oh yes, and you get a great, personally designed hair cut. I have been using the salon for years and I am moved to write this review now because I had one more wonderful experience with my last cut. Living in two states, CT and PA., I try to time my cuts to be in CT so I can go to HBD. Last month I had a terrible, awful hair cut in Philadelphia. Six weeks later, I arrived at HBD and could see, "What happened to you?" in Casey's eyes. And then, snip, snip, snip, she fixed it. I felt like myself again. A bad hair cut makes you feel lousy BUT a great hair cut makes you feel great. Thank You Casey! Fern Fisher

I've debated writing about my experience because my stylist was kind, but I do have some feedback…read morefor the salon: if clients will be rushed out the door in the last hour, please make that clear when someone is booking. When I called I said I was a new client and needed a "really good" haircut with lots of layering, bangs, I have thick hair, the whole works. The original date I asked for was full and a different date was offered, I said yes, excited because I've wanted to try out this salon for a long time based on reviews/photos. When I went in, it was quiet - just 1 other person getting their hair done. After being seated my stylist suddenly seemed flustered by the time (we had a little over an hour before the place closed, which I hadn't realized before) and said she couldn't style my hair. To her credit she asked if I wanted a shampoo but I felt rushed and said we could skip it. I explained what I really wanted (a short wolf cut) but my only reservation was it was before a wedding, and she agreed it could look awkward. In truth I brought it up to gauge her reaction because I didn't want someone who wasn't enthused about it to make such a drastic change to my hair. No problem, had a safer backup ready to go, still with lots of edgy layers and the V-cut I love. Talked it out and showed a reference pic from all angles of this haircut. What I received was nothing close. My hair was cut bluntly straight across, my layers almost blend into the longest ends of my hair, and my face framing pieces are completely uneven. She did a good job on my bangs, though at the time, they were flying straight off my face. I'm talking almost 90 degrees. I was trying not to panic and reassure her at the same time so she didn't feel bad that I looked ridiculous, saying my hair just needed to figure it out and would settle. I walked out of the salon with one hand literally covering my forehead holding down my bangs trying not to cry and thankfully had a beanie in the car to throw over my head. I've gotten bad cuts before but never walked out looking wild like that. I will say - that experience has opened me up to try cutting my own hair at home, so I bought some shears and am looking forward to experimenting.
