As a resident of Cromwell, I've driven by Green Lotus many times, but today was the first time I decided to give it a try, and it was a great choice! I called Green Lotus late in the afternoon inquiring about an appointment for facial waxing either tonight or tomorrow night - and surprisingly, they were able to fit me in tonight. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile from Monica, and she offered to hang up my coat and get me a drink. My appointment with Vanessa went very well - she introduced herself with a handshake and conversed with me throughout the appointment. I have some skin sensitivities and allergies, and Vanessa discussed these with me prior to my appointment and added them to my record. It even printed that I had an allergy on my receipt - so I'm very pleased to know they take that matter seriously! She really took her time and didn't rush through the service. If I were to describe both employees I dealt with, I'd say: Processional & Friendly. They both deserve a ton of credit for their great customer service - something that seems rare these days. The salon is very clean and the waxing room had soft, relaxing music in the background and a soothing fountain. I thought the price was reasonable and ended up booking a future appointment. I should have called but everything happened so quickly that I honestly was not thinking about the days appointments. I was unable to pick up my phone when they called but when I realized what had happened I called right back from the hospital. They do not answer their phone so I left a message and sent an email explaining what happened, I received no response and they charged me $185.00 for missing the appt. My message stated that I understood I would need to pay a cancellation fee and asked if under the circumstances if they could refund part of the $185.00 Well as I said there was no response. I would have been a very good client for these people as I would have utilized a number of their services on an ongoing basis. I did make a mistake but I think this is a very bad way to do business and a terrible way to take advantage of someone. Sometimes things just happen!

Unfortunately they could not provide us side by side massages. They only had one masseuse. Our masseuse was Kateri (I think that's how you spell her name). She provided excellent service. She asked if I had any allergies, especially to oil. She asked what kind of pressure I wanted. Then I changed and got comfortable on the massage table. I think there was 3 layers of towel/blanket to keep me warm. The room was a little on the cool side but Kateri warmed the oil in her hand before applying it on my skin. Her hands were warm. The room had relaxing music on. I was so chill and relaxed that I nearly fell asleep during the massage. Kateri worked on all the major muscles and loosen the knots in my neck & shoulder. I totally recommend her service. While I waited for my sister-in-law, the staff there was very nice. They offered me something to drink and a snack. I had a great experience. The young lady who waxed my face. She burned my skin in the corner of my left eye. The upper lip was swollen with blister. And around the sides of my mouth. I began to notice my face. A week after my visit. My lip and left eyelid began to flake up. I went to the urgent care. Where I was seen by the doctor. I was there for a sinus infection. But I showed him my burns. He told me the amoxicillin would heal my burns and to continue using Aquaphor. I contacted The Europen Wax Center. I requested to speak with a manager. The manager called me back. I explained to her the injuries I had sustained during my wax appointment on 12/ 22/2024. The manager was very apologetic. I request a full refund of my full-face package. I informed the manager that I didn't feel comfortable with the ladies in her establishment. I need to have a seasoned veteran esthetician doing my face. The manager informed me that the district manager would like a medical note. I supplied a medical note from the urgent care physician. The European Wax Center manager Daj. Informed me that they can not refund my card. Because the word burn was not indicated in my medical notes. Before this incident I had a excellent esthetician. Her name was Sam. She was awesome. The previous management was very nice. Management change an there customer service went to. I decided to contact the European Wax Center in Glastonbury. I explaoned my situation. They scheduled me Elen. Elen has over 15 years of experience as an esthetician. She made me feel very comfortable. She was very knowledgeble. I would refer anyone to Elen.
