Attention to detail today was lacking- my mom and I went to get gel pedicures and even though the staff was attentive and lovely, we are noticing bare edges that weren't painted, and it hardly looks like the callous on my big toe was worked on. I go to a place in East Hampton now that costs about the same for a gel pedicures and with just a "classic" (no frills) service, they INCLUDE a 5 minute massage of each leg (set a timer and show you) and you get the exfoliating as well as some lotion- you feel like a million bucks after (or a billion, with inflation these days)... Nail House doesn't seem "worth it" anymore by comparison. With that being said, its conveniently located (not the most ideal parking lot) and is very clean, friendly and accommodating. read more

I absolutely do NOT recommend this nail salon. My mother and I went in for scheduled pedicures, both of us requesting gel polish. What we received was nothing short of a disaster. First off, my mom's nail tech had no clue what she was doing. She started scrubbing my mom's feet without even submerging them in water--how is that even possible for a proper pedicure? Then, when it came time to paint her nails, my mom had two broken nails. She repeatedly told the tech they were broken and needed acrylics, but the tech ignored her and then accused her of not mentioning the issue. Seriously? The situation got worse when the owner stepped in. Not only did they leave my mom sitting there with no one working on her for 20 minutes, but she was surrounded by all the techs, talking in a different language, making my mom feel extremely uncomfortable. Finally, someone came over to finish her pedicure--but by then, my mom was already distressed and humiliated. Then came the bill. The owner charged us $175 for two pedicures--and swiped my mom's card without even confirming the price or services with us. We were told the gel polish would be $55, but clearly, that wasn't the case. To top it all off, the nails started falling off 24 hours later. This place is not only unprofessional but downright rude and money-hungry. The owner is a condescending liar, and the entire experience was horrendous. This review is for the nail technician, not the business -- which I really like overall. I had a very painful pedicure Saturday afternoon with Milagro. She cut my right toe under the nail, which I've been treating with triple antibiotic cream and a numbing agent. I had trouble walking for about twelve hours after. Maybe she was having a bad day, we all have them. Or maybe there was a problem with the language barrier. That's okay. We're a nation of immigrants. However, she didn't respond to any communication, gasps of discomfort, nothing, not even the neighboring technician (Diana) who translated my discomfort at the too hard of pressure applied to my feet and legs asking for lighter pressure. The pedicure, which cost $69, was agony from start to finish. On a positive note, the nails look nice. I'm disappointed not only because I paid for an extremely painful pedicure, but also because I like the business, the other technicians, but am uncomfortable at the thought of a repeat experience with this person. Have been going here over the last few years mainly for convenience of the location and with one exception, I have not been disappointed. The owner is friendly and helpful, the employees are not very talkative but are thorough and pleasant. Prices have gone up slightly, like everything else but still pretty affordable. I'm sitting here at Nail House getting a sublime pedicure from Irma writing a review in real time, which is a first for me. I just figured, here I am, relaxed and taking in one of my new favorite nail salons, why not? First impression: cleanliness. My goodness, is this place clean. They have a medical grade sterilizer proudly on display in the back of the room to pull freshly sterilized instruments from and open the sealed packages right there in front of you. No pulling a basket full of questionable metal instruments from some dark place hidden under their nail station. Just good old fashioned detail oriented cleanliness. I'm looking everywhere trying to find the spot, that one spot that gets overlooked or passed over every cleaning, the scary spot, but I can't for the life of me find it. The lighting is bright, but not an offensive fluorescent light. Also, the music, I love it. It's this relaxing selection of like smooth disco and soft classics of the 60's-90's? I don't know, but it's eclectic perfection. One thing that struck me is that the space is separated so nicely, divided into clear manicure and pedicure areas, with a refined sitting area and their own ATM, which differs from most salons I visit that are large open spaces with rows of chairs. They always made me feel like cattle being herded, so it's nice to experience something different. Aspects of the interior and furniture here were dated, but while I was here I heard the owner/manager speaking with a contractor about remodeling, so that's something to look forward to. The pedicure and manicure were great. Easily one of the most detailed, relaxing spa experiences I've had. The time Irma took massaging my legs and feet, the hot stone massage at the end of my pedicure, simple moisturizer that didn't make my freshly shaven legs red, perfect temperature hot towel wrap that didn't burn the crap out of me, well applied polish, everything. Only criticism there would be on the quality of the materials she had to work with for my dipping powder manicure. They were visibly crap and I could tell that was a frustrating and common occurrence for her. Get your employees better materials and they'll do a better job! read more

They are very nice, the salon looks great. I generally like dip powder because it is more durable than gel, as I have had gel many times in the past. The woman working told me they do not do nail extensions with dip powder, only gel. She then insisted that this gel was very durable. In my experience, there is only one reason a salon isn't willing to add extensions with dip powder, that is because it's not expensive enough. Sketchy move. So, I did gel and the nails looked great... However, $95 later, with tax and before tip, within days they started to peel around the edges, as gel sometimes does. It felt like highway robbery. I saw that the prices were reasonable for pedicures and I went back to get a pedicure. The mini spa pedi includes ten extra minutes of leg massage. The leg massage was way too hard and far from relaxing. So, needless to say I wasted $180 (with tip) at a place that I probably wouldn't go back to. My intent is not to hurt this small business, but to let them know that they are overpriced and definitely not worth the aggravation. read more

Sue, Michael and their staff go above and beyond to welcome you and give you the most relaxing experience, they have become like family to me. This place is clean, tools are clean, and there is a huge variety of colors for every product you're looking for! I recently started getting the gel powder- which requires no UV rays to set the polish. My nails have been lasting 3+ weeks, never chipping or breaking, seeing as I'm a bartender- this is a big deal!!! tldr: if you want a nail salon that knows what they're doing. don't go here. they have no idea. so, i went here last weekend with my sister. setting up an appointment was a nightmare in and of itself. but the real issue was when we arrived. we walked in and informed them we had an appointment. 2 pedicures and 2 dip manicures. nothing crazy. they just kinda ignored us for several minutes and then finally sat us. the pedicure was fine but they used a lot of the same tools between my sister and i which is extremely unsanitary. yes she is my sister, but use clean tools? so gross. the nail technicians were literally handing tools back and forth to each other to use on mine and my sisters feet. now, when i went in i had dip already on my nails. i figured this wouldn't be an issue since we were at a NAIL salon where they should handle this regularly. joke was on me. instead of filing off the top layer and then putting acetone soaked cotton balls wrapped in aluminum foil they just slapped acetone soaked cotton balls on the dip polish and wrapped my fingers and then they had me sit through my entire pedicure with my hands inside heating pads. i complained about them being too hot once and they were turned down and then not again after that. finally they finished my pedicure and brought me over to start on my nails, she starts filing off the dip and she scraped and cut my entire pinky cuticle up. i was bleeding throughout the rest of the manicure. they then decided that the dip wasn't dissolved enough so they re-wrapped my nails in acetone and made me put my hands in hot wet towels. it got to the point where it was so terrible and it was hurting so badly that i almost told them to stop but like i said i was there with my sister who i rarely see and i felt bad about ruining our afternoon together. finally they got the dip off my nails and then started applying the new dip. there was zero nail prep whatsoever, and they didn't use a top coat on my nails other than the sealer. i've been getting my nails done for 10+ years. i've ALWAYS gotten a top coat put on at any salon i went to. the kicker is now, one week later ALL my fingers are peeling from the hot acetone bath they forced upon me and my sister said all her nails are cracking and look terrible. if you're looking for a salon that knows what they're doing-skip this one. it ain't it. read more

Came in for a shellac mani pedi. Was talked into doing regular polish on my nails because shellac is $15 more for toes. Got the pedi- great work nice polish very clean great massage in the chair. They switched nail techs on me then I went for my mani- eh- I do a better job at home. Don't bother with the shellac. It's very bumpy and uneven. No pleased with it. I went there for the first time yesterday. Got a gel manicure. My nails look awful!!! The polish is bumpy and has bubbles. One of my nails the girl filed down the side so much it's now slanted looking. She got top coat and base coat all over the tips of my fingers and never whipped it off even after i mentioned it. Every time I walk in the door I get greeted by Sue the owner who is really the sweetest and she has a great team. I usually never make an appointment and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get into a chair. My gel manicures always last 3-4 weeks and I've never had any problems with service. Scheduled an appointment today with my aunt and had a fabulous experience! I had a gel manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow wax with Maria. Maria helped my color match to a couple of photos I brought with me and then proceeded to work her magic. My feet have never been smoother and my gel manicure looks fantastic! Maria and the entire staff was very professional, the shop was clean, and they followed Covid procedures. At the end of my services, Maria followed up with a short but wonderful hot towel massage. LOVE this place!!! Nail House is very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and thorough. My pedicure started with a polish removal and trim. Next was the foot and leg scrub. The sugar scrub is actually made in house; it is very effective. Next, a leg and foot massage with baby oil and aloe vera. This is followed up with a hot stone massage and hot towel wrap. Finally, the precise polish application. As an added bonus, while drying, they also provide a warm shoulder massage. The price is comparable to the places in the mall, but with the amazing service $30 is a bargain. I will never go to the mall salons again where you feel like they are rushing to get to the next person. With that said, be prepared to spend a bit of time here. I go out of my way to not leave poor reviews for businesses, but unfortunately cannot do so in this case. I've gone to the Nail House maybe three or four times over the past couple of years and each time, the experience was simply not up to par with those I've had elsewhere at salons in the Farmington Valley (check out my other reviews). I guess that's what I get for cheating on my go-to spots! This most recent time, I stopped in because my usual spots were either completely booked or closed for the day. Big mistake. I originally came in for just a pedicure but reluctantly agreed to have a manicure, as well. I say reluctantly because I remembered a not so good manicure I had been given previously, but decided to give it another go. Again, wrong move on my part. The pedicure was just okay (the massage chair and the tech's actual massage was good and strong), but my nails weren't filed evenly and the paint job was horrific (even after being "fixed"). My manicure, on the other hand, was done while I was getting my pedicure and really wasn't a manicure at all, just a quick file of my nails and the literal cutting of my cuticles (I did get an apology since blood was drawn). The paint job on my hands was actually worse than my feet (I literally had to tell the tech how to paint my nails and showed her where there were thick spots of gloppy polish, which she didn't really fix). I sat down to dry my nails 30 minutes before closing and felt rushed out of the salon by one of the owners (who asked if I had ever been there before)...just poor customer service all around. I understand they close at 6 PM and probably wanted to be out on time, but who rushes a customer out with half dried nails and shouts out to "be careful!"? How about just letting me dry my nails? The entire experience was just not at all what I'm used to and solidified why I will never come back again. To add insult to injury, my manicure started chipping not even an hour later, which I knew would happen. Sigh. If you want your nails to look good, please do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here. You will thank me. read more

Was fine at first until I went to pay my $153 dollar bill ( on my credit card ) and only had $19 cash to tip and there is a big sign that says cash tips only . The girl Michelle literally wouldn't take the tip from me and kept pointing to the atm behind me asking me to take out more money. Under the former owner I used to like this place. It's spacious with wonderful pedicure chairs etc. But the last couple of times I went it had a new owner and staff. The techs don't seem to really know what they are doing. The last time I went the woman working on my manicure filed through my nail bed until it bled. Absolutely the best nail salon in the area. Today Diana did my pedicure and did an amazing job. They are the cleanest nail salon I have ever been to, they have an autoclave in sight where they grab their instruments right out of freshly sterilized packs. They give a wonderful massage while you sit in their brand new chairs and receive a back massage. They always apply two coats on polish (I add this because I went to a nail salon right down the street last week and only received one coat of polish leaving me with the ugliest pedicure I have ever had.).
