Would not recommend. The place is dated, there are only two people working at a time. They try to rush and do multiple nails at once so while yours is drying they'll move onto someone else's in the meantime and come back to you. The quality is bad as well. The only upside is that it's only 21 dollars for a gel manicure. Save yourself and go down to Wilson if in Windsor. More expensive but quality wise it is better. read more

I went there to get a set of acrylic nails taken off. I was there for an hour and a half soaking then taking a layer off soaking them taking a layer off. She kept looking up and hurt my finger at least twice and stuff kept flying everywhere. She was like ok go wash your hands and I went to wash my hands and there was still a layer of acrylic and my nails were hard still. I left tried to bite it off then went back in and she soaked them again took another layer off and said all done. And there WAS STILL ACRYLIC ON MY NAILS SO I GAVE UP AND LEFT. read more

Needed to get my nails fixed while on a business trip in Windsor, CT. I would never usually stray from my regular nail shop, however this was the beginning of a 2 week trip, and there was no way I could have waited. Boy was I surprised and pleased at the experience! The owner was the only person available to do nails, but no big deal - as there was no wait, I did call in advance to make sure she was available. I believe her specialty is gel nails - which in CA we don't see a lot of (using gel liquid instead of gel polish) - but I ended up getting a full pink and white set (powder) and having gel liquid on 1 nail (accent) - the price for a full set was very reasonable - $40 plus $3 tax - which we are not used to in CA - but it was okay. The nails lasted about 2 weeks with no issues, the gel liquid chipped a bit, but i typically expect that even with gel polish after 2-3 weeks. I was very happy with the service and the nails - i had a wonderful experience. Should i need a fix or a fill next time i'm on a business trip :) read more

The owner is very sweet and actually will have a conversation with you which is nice. However, my appointment felt very rushed. I went during the last hour they were open so I don't know if this had anything to do with it, but my gel manicure is chipping not even 3 days later. She also didn't use a cuticle pusher or the typical tools really other than a file and some clippers. Good for a cheap and quick fix but if you're looking for something a little more then I'd look elsewhere. read more

I only get a few manicures/pedicures a year and decided to try this place since it's close to my home. I've never had such a terrible experience before. The older lady who did my manicure was gruff and hasty. Even though I made an appointment I felt like I was inconveniencing her. The nail shaping and buffing was ok (but the equipment wasn't taken from a fresh package, ew), but the polish job was very rushed. I was in and out in 20 minutes. The polish was bubbling and looked so terrible that I took it off as soon as I got home. I paid $10 cash plus a $2 tip before the polish was applied. In the future I'll go back to Paris Nails in Rocky Hill where they treat people with kindness and respect. I think the people at Queen Nails are only kind to those spending $30+ on gel or acrylic nails. read more

This place is a gem! I've gone here twice to get gel polish done and not only do they do a great job, but the price is a steal. Most other places I've called are all about 35$ for gel but they only charge 21 here! The woman who does them is also incredibly sweet and the shop is in a very convenient location in the center of windsor. Would definitely recommend! read more

The first time I went for a gel manicure, the polish began lifting after 3 days. Went back to give them a second chance (which they charged me for) and after a week, the nails look like a 2 week growth and are lifting and chipping. Never go there again! read more

I came to town for a funeral. I called Queen nails and the owner Kim fit me in. It is a very quaint salon and very clean. Just ok. Happened to find this place on yelp and since it wasn't too far from my house, I thought id give it a try despite the mixed reviews. I called to make an appt and they happily took me at the time i requested. Upon arrival i was asked to pick out a nail polish, none of which were exciting. They were mostly from older collections of OPI, some essie and another brand ive never heard of. The nail salon itself is pretty outdated, the pedicure stations didnt seem bad, but the place could definitely use some new paint and a face-lift. I was taken exactly on time for my appt which i was super excited about. As the woman was doing my nails i happily watched Ellen on a pretty nice tv. I couldnt hear it, maybe it was that way on purpose but i would have prefered to not hear the woman a few chairs away talk about a salad. After a few mins go by, the salad lady proceeds to get her eyebrows waxed by Kim, who double dipped the wax stick into the pot. Disgusting! I work in the healthcare field, and thats a big no no. Kims next client came in requesting black nails with gold tips for halloween. Immediately Kim started saying that was boring, and to do a mood polish because those are the latest trend...Unfortunately, those have been around for at least 2 years, so not a new trend. (Only proving she's outdated with polish). Kim continued to try and convince the woman not to do the black with gold, calling her boring and that it was only on for two weeks so just do the mood polish. She also said that her good customers listen to her recommendations. After my lady finished polishing my nails, i noticed almost all of them were tipped and not in a perfect square and i had a decent amount of polish left on my skin. The job overally wasnt the worst i had but not the best. I dried my nails in the same seat under her uv lights, and had a few flies land on my cell phone and one on my face!!! Im assuming its from them opening the front door. I learned the hard way this place only takes cash or check, which is super annoying this day and age. They do have client boxes to store files, but i didnt see a new tool used on me, must be for their "good clients". read more

I love this place. I went my first time and did not know what to expect. I travel from Manchester where there are alot of salons, but continue to go here every two weeks now!. Kim is the owner and is fantastic. I called at the last minute once and she took me right in. Her manicures are so well done, my polish lasts up to two weeks (my own nails). She also paints designs on your nail(s), if you wish. I am in and out in 30 minutes and the price is the lowest I have ever paid! I highy recommend this place! read more
