I have gotten two manicures there to date. There's nothing extra about the salon. They do the bare minimum. I asked them to cut my nails today and they cut them down to the quick. That's not what I was expecting. Please be very specific when you want your nails trimmed my nails were very long and I just want them trimmed little bit. read more

Awful place and rude staff. This was barely 1 hr following the service. The polish continued to lift and shift even the next day...it never dried. Stay away, good reviews are likely fraudulent. read more

Rude girls doing nails they never give you same person. Always charging more money very unhappy would never go back. Do not honor your appointment they switch you without telling you extremely nervy. Pedicures bad polish comes off fast if I could give 0 stars read more

I booked a very last-minute manicure with Jay. I walked in with two cracked nails and I walked out with the best natural manicure I've ever had. Jay was so thorough! Highly recommend! read more

The nail salon I normally go to was to busy, so after googling a place nearby I came across this one. I didn't realize until later that they're by appointment only (oops) but they were nice enough to do my pedicure for me and didn't give me a hard time. As far as aesthetics go, this place is a 10/10. It's beautiful, very tastefully decorated, and SPARKLING clean. It also smells amazing in there and I appreciate the fact that it doesn't just smell of nail polish. The overall pedicure, though was just "meh". A little lackluster. I did enjoy the products they use very much. I love Zoya nail polish and the quality of the scrubs and lotions they use is definitely top notch. But as far as the overall experience goes, I think they were just doing the bare minimum. If they made a little more effort it would have been a fantastic pedicure. Past salons that I've been to have given a back/ shoulder massage while your nails dry. This place did not which was slightly disappointing. At the end of the day, I wouldn't rush to come back here but I may give them another chance in the future because I enjoyed the atmosphere so much. read more

I started coming here after my ex roommate recommend it because she loved their organic sugar scrubs. I love that it's an organic and natural nail salon. The workers here are very friendly and they even do nail art! It is a little pricy for a manicure but they do a great job and give you a hot stone massage and a neck massage. They have a rewards program that you can buy into (I think $5) which allows for birthday coupons and rewards for every $200 spent. Manicures last about a week (no gel) which isn't as long as other polishes but thats probably because they're not filled with toxins. I don't get manicures done often, so even though it's a little pricy I will keep going here! It is definitely worth it for me. read more

Amazing nice and sparkly clean nail salon. Beautiful floral murals, high end ingredients and equipment. Very accommodating staff. You need to book ahead as the space is small. read more

So glad I found this place! On the pricey side, but worth it! I am very happy with the experience. Loved how clean it was. All the workers wore mask, bathroom was clean with candle etc. Had some flower petals in the water. The experience was great from the time you walk in to when you leave. Appointment on time and took just as long as planned. Joy was fantastic! She helped me pick my color and did a great job. I liked the essential oil they used on my cuticle. The lotion they used smelled nice! read more

It had been a while, and I decided to treat myself to a manicure and sugar scrub. After searching for a vegan salon, I happened upon 5th Avenue. Parking and the entrance is through the back, and it can be tight during the busy times. The salon is brightly lit, clean, inviting and the people are friendly. My manicurist was efficient and helped me pick out a nice color (they use Zoya for non gel polish) that complimented my skin tone well. They are good at following COVID guidelines and have a sink readily available for you to wash your hands as soon as you enter the salon. They did remove the tools from a sanitized bag, and my manicure/massage was fine. The only other caveats I would add are that my polish was removed by the manicurist by her nail instead of a tool, they didn't read the notes I had left when booking so I had to explain it again when I got there, which prolonged the service, and the service was interrupted before the polish was applied so I could pay. If I return, I will just prepay because it was a bit jarring for me. read more

This was a great spot that took our entire family of 5 for pedicures with a short 15 minute wait. It was clean and the techs were kind to my children and I. I'd also so they were very reasonably priced. read more

Went in yesterday for the first time and was so impressed! The salon was very clean and nice. I got the uv gel tips plus nail art. It came out to $120 which is very expensive (similar to nyc prices) but they did an amazing job! Eric took his time and was meticulous and detailed. This was exactly what I wanted, I will definitely be back! read more

I highly recommend this place! I'm new to the area and this has been the CLEANEST salon I've EVER been to! They do amazing work and I'm happy they offer vegan and non toxic options at their salon. You really can't find that anywhere these days. It smells so good in there (no harsh chemical smell) and they really take there time and give you 100% quality nails. I also love that they don't offer acrylic nails like every other nail salon and they have a better option for your nails called UV sculpted Gel which is what I got. Thank you for the wonderful job I can't wait to go back read more

This is one of the cleanest nail salons I've ever been to ... and best decorated too! When you walk in, you're immediately greeted with this lovely citrus scent as well as one of the employees who will check your temperature and ask you to wash your hands. I've been for both manicures and pedicures. They are efficient but also seem to be perfectionists when it comes to application of nail polish. When I had gel done, it was always applied evenly - never too thin or too thick. When I had the gel removed, they're super gentle. They don't use the dreaded drill. Tips: if you download the Booksy app, you can book ahead. They are by appointment only. If you want any designs, make sure to add that to the comments in Booksy or tell them on the phone so they can extend your appointment time. read more

I am happy to report that 5th Ave Nails & Spa is still the best nail salon in the Avon/Simsbury area. Just stopped in today after a long hiatus and calling practically last minute (sorry, guys!) for a regular pedicure that turned into a gel pedicure on the spot, per my request. I was treated like royalty, just like every time before, and was offered a delicious complimentary hot tea to enjoy with my service. They still use wonderful organic products that make your skin feel luxurious and the customer service is just as awesome as I remember. My legs, feet and toes are thanking me for this visit and I will definitely be back sooner rather than later. Keep up the great work, everyone! read more

They always do a wonderful job, they are wonderfully priced and the staff is friendly. Also very clean and fresh. I just moved the area and won't try any other nail salon! Be sure to make an appointment, they are extremely popular (for a good reason) and typically don't have room for walk-in's. read more

My new favorite nail salon! This place is ADORABLE and so clean. I made an appointment per the suggestion of previous reviews. I've never tried organic or toxin free nail products before but they seem great! This salon is so calm and peaceful unlike many others I've been to and it was nice to truly relax and unwind. And the nail drying station actually blew air out at a decent speed unlike most I've been to that barely work! $15.95 for a regular manicure, ample free parking in the back, friendly staff. I cant wait to return!! read more

I went to this shop BECAUSE the reviews were excellent. I showed up for my appointment excited to have a spa day for myself and possibly get some Halloween designs. I walked in and a lady said in a non welcoming way; "Wash your hands. Sit here. What color you want?"When I said I wanted a Halloween design, she said "what do you want?" Again in a none welcoming way. She seemed so unhappy and I felt like I was bothering her. My overall experience was terrible. Spending money for self care shouldn't have a stressful vibe. Joy, was not so joyful. read more

I was looking for a nail salon in the area, and came here because of the good reviews. I was able to make a fast appointment to get in for a full set of gel nails. The process took a lot of concentration and work from the nail tech. He did a great job and never rushed or sacrificed the quality of his work. The spa is beautiful, clean, and full of home made organic products. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing experience and quality results. read more

I have never been to a cuter and cleaner nail salon! It was calm and quiet, with acoustic music buzzing in the background. Every staff member was friendly and welcoming and the chairs were comfortable. I really enjoyed my pedicure: super clean trim, amazing sugar scrub and leg/foot massage, and impeccable color application. The attention to detail was unparalleled. I chose 5th Ave Nails because they offer vegan and organic products that are safe for pregnant ladies like myself but I will be going back because of the atmosphere, people, and amazing pedicure. Why aren't there more places like this?! read more

My mother and I had gone here for the first time on Saturday. I made us appointments for 4pm for the organic spa mani and pedi. Upon entering there was no space to sit to wait, but we were greeted with a welcome and seated in the pedi chairs quickly! Our first impression was positive. Easy parking, the salon was clean and relaxing. The tools they used were clean and the technicians were friendly. The nail polish options were enough, with a range of colors. We loved that everything was either vegan, made from scratch or earth-friendly. All the lotions and oils had a very pretty and clean smell to them. For two organic spa mani and pedis cost just over $200 (without tip). We were there for 2 hrs. Sadly, the day after our appointment our nail polish has started to chip and does look a bit streaky (which we noticed the day we had our nails done). This was disappointing because we really enjoyed our visit, but can't justify the cost for chipped nails a day later. Perhaps bring your own nail polish? read more

BEST PEDICURE OF MY LIFE! I've been coming to 5th Ave for a while now, to the point where they know my name and make me feel so welcome!! I've introduced a few of my friends to 5th Ave and now it's their go-to place as well. I love how EVERY little detail is always so well thought out. From the fresh flowers daily to the scented candles, calming music, and friendly staff. I got my eyebrows waxed recently and then got a few minutes of a massage of my forehead and temples, I was blown away! I've never experienced that. I'd recommend you make an appoitnemt now that the secret is out of this amazing place - it fills up quickly! read more

Beautiful salon and no acrylics! I love that this nail salon appeals to clients who wish to have natural and healthy nails. It smells great, there is no smelly nail salon thing going on here. I'll definitely be coming here for weekly manicures. read more

Might be the best nail salon I've visited! Made a same-day appointment for two pedicures and they were ready for us when we walked in. Women are very friendly, and salon is clean and pretty. The pedicures were fabulous. I often have to warn people to be gentle as many places will really dig into the cuticles (yikes!), but she was so delicate and effective! I was truly able to relax, and the massage and hot stone were amazing. I'm incredibly pleased with the quality of work - plus, the neck massage during the drying process was a bonus! read more

Love the concept behind this place. The place is very clean and nice. Thought this was going to be my new nail place until three days into my gel manicure which was $35 was already chipped. I've been coming to 5th Ave Nails for a few months and will not be going anywhere else. My search for the perfect nail salon is over. Their prices are comparable to other salons in the area but the service, atmosphere, and products they use are not, they are so much better! I came in one Saturday morning and one of the nail technicians started taking coffee orders she went and picked up coffee for the patrons. How sweet! And just this week I went for a mani pedi and within an hour of leaving I chipped a nail pretty bad completely my fault. I came back and they fully repainted the chipped nail free of charge they are just the best. The owners son is also beyond adorable and always greets me when I enter and leave the salon! Can't wait to come back I always feel zen when I leave. They also gifted me a handmade herbal hand salve for the holidays that I absolutely love! read more

I love this place for being organic and having vegan polish. The staff is also always very friendly and does a great job. Along with the decor inviting and place being clean. My only complaint is that the manicures for some reason take forever to dry. I have messed up my nails before by touching something 2 hours later. Also this past time I went here I got a beautiful manicure but the next day it started to chip. It is now only 3 days later and I have one nail that is very chipped and 2 others pretty chipped too with cracks in the rest of the nail polish... don't know what happened there. read more

Without a doubt the best nail salon in the Avon area. Great staff, professional, incredibly clean

This place just plain made me happy. As far as nail salons go they can be hit or miss but I felt totally comfortable, calm and relaxed here. Their all natural approach made me feel like I was getting a really good treatment. My pedicure lasted FOREVER (no seriously I just removed it) and can't wait to go back. read more

I have used a few other nail salons since relocating to the area and felt that I had yet to find my go-to place. Well, I think I found it today. Lovely interior, easy parking, extremely clean workspace and very friendly staff. Choice of non-caffeine herbal teas while you enjoy your treatments. And about those treatments. Non-toxic, cruelty free and vegan nail products are offered. A very wide variety of colors were offered. My pedi and mani were excellent and I look forward to my next visit. Another important thing that not all salons in the area can say is that prices are clearly marked here so there are no surprises, nor were there any staff trying to 'sell' me another service or more expensive treatment which I have found at some other local nail places. Highly recommended. read more

I walked in before I realized it was appointment only, and it was literally at the end of the day. They still took me and they were amazing! I needed a quick gel manicure and it was extremely quality, more precise than I usually receive at salons near where I live. Went here for the 1st time today for a pedicure and was very impressed! The place very clean, open, airy and smelled amazing. The staff was welcoming and very kind. We had an 11am appointment and they were ready for us when we walked in. The pedicure was incredible! They used essential oils and organic products. The hot stone massage was so relaxing and the shoulder massage while our nails dried was a pleasant surprise. Can't wait to come back again! Such a great little nail shop. It's nice and quiet, smells amazing, and they use wonderful products. Also, one of my favorite parts is that my manicure lasts at least a week with no chips because they use a better top coat. Make an appointment - this isn't a walk-in place. read more

I liked the cleanliness and environment and the girl who serviced me took time to cut my toenails carefully etc but she did not massage my feet at all even for a second. Isn't that the point of a pedicure? I got some scrub on my legs but she barely rubbed that in either. I can get a pedicure with a 5 min foot and 5 min back massage for 18$ I'll pay extra for organic but not if I don't get a foot massage? She did end offer a back massage but I especially came for the foot massage, right? read more

This is gonna be a LONG review!! Just a heads up! I went to 5th Ave at the recommendation of a friend two days ago for a mani-pedi. I didn't have an appointment, but they gladly accommodated me anyway. Oh. My. Goodness. The place didn't smell of acetone. They were diffusing something delicious - Lemon? And I settled down into an oh so comfy chair, into a foot bath that was the perfect temperature, with (I think) rose petals in the water. It was the best pedicure I've ever had, and it's true- everything they use is organic, vegan, and cruelty free. And yes, some of the scrubs are made from scratch! After the pedi, the woman led me to get my manicure, which was good. Nothing spectacular, but my nails looked classy, so I was pleased...until I got in the car to leave. After I got my keys and buckled in, TWO of my nails had already smudged. I would have just gone back in, but I had to run straight to work. I was so ready to write this place off as mediocre, but I decided to give them another chance. I made an appointment to get the two nails fixed the next day, and they got me in no problem. THIS is why I'm giving this place five stars. When I arrived, the woman asked me if I remembered my color. I didn't, so she patiently swatched multiple shades ON HER OWN NAILS to get a perfect match. I should say matching a red polish with the variety they had is NO easy task! She then whisked me away and not only redid the two smudged nails, but touched up the rest and redid the top coat on ALL of them, all for NO CHARGE. I was completely blown away by the level of customer service I received. That, in addition to the excellent service and the quality of their products, made it for me. Now I know to wait a little longer for dry time, but it's worth it. My nails now look fantastic, and I will DEFINITELY be back!! read more
