I walked in at 12:30 on a Saturday for a gel manicure and was seated immediately. The polish I chose was a longer lasting type and cost an extra five dollars, but Jocelyne, my manicurist, made sure to let me know that there would be an extra charge. I really appreciate this because a lot of places do not warn you and just add the extra charge. Jocelyn was very meticulous and detail oriented. I had a very long massage with just the right amount of pressure. The setting inside was I loved this place and wish I lived closer! I tried a new nail salon for a manicure. The inside is quite clean and staff is friendly. I would say as far as manicures go it was exceptional. Beautiful manicure. I made an appointment for 9:30 and the girl started doing my nails until mother came in with very young girls. I got shuffled around my different people so they could take care of the party that came in after me. In my opinion poor customer service. I like to get a manicure done by one person and not multiple people nor do I want someone stopping every two seconds to answer a phone. Overpriced and RUDE! My fiancé went there last Thursday at 4:45pm, as they close at 7:00pm. She called prior to going and asked if they take walk ins. She was told "yes". In addition, there website says the same. When she got there, only one customer was there, with plenty of staff and she was told they didn't accept walk ins. Ridiculous! Listen to the negative reviews as they're very accurate. I absolutely wouldn't recommend based on the attitudes given. No more Noella for me! I've been coming for years and with each successive visit the techs have become more & more impatient & in a rush. This time I tipped $10 on a $32 regular pedi & no one even bothered to spray or oil my nails or check to see if I was dry. 4 techs were standing around and no one moved when I took the tissue out of my toes and threw it away myself. No one even so much as asked if I wanted a shoulder massage. What a complete lack of service! To top it off, as I was leaving I heard the tech who had provided my service mention she was going to go to the walk in clinic after work to get an antibiotic for an infection. I have been a client of Noella's for about 5 years going to both their Avon and Farmington Salons. At no time did I ever experience a bad odor from their establishments. Just the contrary... the air is fresh and the facilities are clean. I too have had pedicures there and to say that they spent 4 minutes on her pedicure is absurd. I find the people to be very friendly and responsive. To have written such a negative review indicates more like a business trying to destroy another business rather than a bonafide review. I will never go back here. My biggest problem with nail spas is that they don't respect your time. I had an appointment and after 15 min of waiting in the massage chair for someone to give me a pedicure, I left. I called in the morning and made an appointment. My tech, Diana, was incredibly meticulous and my gel polish is absolutely perfect. No polish on my cuticles or streaks in the dark color. I have gotten a Brazilian wax here and it was not as smooth as I would have liked, there was still a little stubble . I needed a quick manicure on an Sunday evening and decided to give them another try but I was not happy my manicure started chipping Monday night. This salon used to be better. The quality has gone down hill and on multiple occasions I've had to go home and just remove the polish because it was so poorly applied. The staff are friendly enough, but they need a lot more training. Plus, it's a spa. Don't rush me. I'm paying a lot of money. If you want to offer some people a "quick" option, offer a sports mani/pedi. Cheaper and faster by skipping the polish portion and the massage. This nail salon is in my hometown and when I am in town from Boston visiting family I always make it a priority to stop in and get a pedicure. I will even wait an extra week or so just so I can get the best pedicure around. I have tried so many of the places in Boston but they just don't compare. The staff at Noella is friendly, attentive, and always take their time. Their regular pedicures are great but when you go, you have to try their spa pedicure...they are definitely worth paying the little bit extra. I have been going to Noella for almost 3 years now. After years of jumping around from one nail salon to another, I finally found the right place for me. I have gel nails, and I go in every few weeks to get refills, as well as to get pedicures, eyebrow tinting and massages. The attention these people pay to their customers is so welcomed. I feel pampered and taken care of. I have friends, family and co-workers who go there as well. I will say that their gel nail price was higher than other places I went before finding Noella. Before I went to Noella I pretty much tried every salon around, trying to find the best value for my money. However, with many salons I found myself going back a few times a week to get nails repaired, and this eventually got I be a pain, as I'm just as busy as everyone else. I finally decided to try Noella, and I realized that their price for their gel nails was somewhat higher for a reason: the quality of the work and the products they use were so much higher than what I had experienced everywhere else. I have only been in twice in three years to have a nail repaired. My nails last for at least two weeks, and I have not gone anywhere else since. I usually go to the Farmington location, but I feel that both the Avon and Farmington locations are equally the best nail salons in my area. The Avon location is much busier, probably because it has been there longer. It's definitely a better idea to call ahead to make an appointment so that you can be sure they can fit you in. However, if you do walk in without an appointment, they do their best to accommodate you. The salon is very clean, the decor is tastefully done, and the people who work there share the owners' same values for customer service. I have never smelled anything chemical-like. Some salons smell like acrylic nails, with dust in the air. Not Noella. As far as the reviewer who said she got a 4-minute pedicure, I don't see how this can be true. Mine always last at least 30 minutes. Is it possible she just got her toes painted? But even a polish change would take longer than 4 minutes. It's funny because when you find a little treasure of a nail salon, you almost want to keep it a secret. She was not holding the skin and I am probably a bit older, I was bleeding and torn skin for weeks. I took pictures of all the damage that was created from the waxing. Iv watched them use the same utensils on different customers without cleaning or washing out pedicure tub. They use cheap soaps and scrubs and have the nerve to charge you the prices they do. I had pedicure done , very superficially (I felt rushed out of there , I only got 1 minute massage on each foot ) I didn't feel like I walked into a " nail spa" .On a very slow Sunday morning , the staff appeared to be very lazy , sitting around , using their personal phones ..to browse the Internet ...as I am sitting under the dryer waiting for someone to massage my shoulders ...The young guy that had done my pedicure was not paying any attention to me , I walked out very upset and dissatisfied , not the way I wanted to feel after I had a pedicure done. I have visited many nail salons over the years and there is no better than Noella in Avon. When you frequent the salon you are known by name. The quality of their manicures, pedicures, gel and silk nails are better than any other. They continually update their decor, services, pedicure chairs and manicure chairs. They pay close attention to the cleanliness of the salon as well as the sterility of the tools they use. My mother has been coming here for years. I usually like going to another salon down the street, one that is less crowded and busy. The last time I went with her I got a loyalty card, so when I needed my next pedicure I decided to make an appointment at noella. The technician burned my foot during the hot towel wrap! It hurt pretty bad, but I didn't want to get the technician in trouble because she was very sweet. I wouldn't want someone to lose their job. I will not be going back again, not because of the burned foot, but because it was the second time in a row that I was the ONLY person that was not offered a massage while my toes were drying. That really upset me. I love a shoulder massage! And I specifically made an appointment during a slow time. They were not too busy to rub my shoulders. :( I get pedicures before i go to weddings... But, really I like to get pedicures because i enjoy the relaxation. I need it after working a full time job and tending to my baby. It's nice to get away and have someone take care of me.
