I was a professional in the spa industry (specifically nails) for nearly a decade. I have been looking for my favorite nail salon, and I regret to inform you, this is not it. I was very happy when I called to make an appointment and the woman on the front desk was kind, helpful and understandable. when I arrived the salon was clean, empty (but it was a Monday) and I liked the atmosphere, the light jazz was a good touch. I put up no argument and gladly opted for the most expensive spa pedicure. The tech nicked the top of my right toe (sensitive skin) with a nail file. luckily it didn't bleed but as the pedicure went on she sprayed my toes with pure alcohol several times and wow that burned. as an industry professional she should have been using something like sea breeze (it would have been ok only to wipe the nail with alcohol not spray it over the tops of the feet. it progressed when (and this happens almost everywhere) she violently exfoliated my legs with scrub. I'm not here to solicit free advice but scrub does the work on its own, a gentle touch is all you need. I don't want to have my skin scrubbed off: again. ow! The massage was hurried, and missed the key sensory points -- all I can say is there shouldn't be any rushed or hurried movements in the spa industry, to be blunt the massage just didn't feel good, it also lacked pressure. I skipped my manicure all together, but the tech redeemed herself on the back massage as I was drying which delivered the pressure and key tension spots but overall I don't know if I would go back. Still on the hunt for the best spot. read more

Great Nail salon! The owner and staff are very friendly, accommodating, and the venue is clean, chic and centrally located! From the heating pads they provide you, and the thorough spa pedicures; I finally found a go to place after searching for a while in the Farmington Valley. The spa pedicures (I usually get the gold) are certainly a luxury but I have been to places that charge as much and are only half as good. I am glad to keep coming back! read more

i just left & made a yelp account to write this review. I came here because of all the positive reviews, but left seriously disappointed. 2+ hours and $130 later. First, let me say I called for an appointment, asked if they did dipping powder and they said yes. When I arrived, they had a whopping 6 colors to choose from and basically told me I have to get UV gel if I wanted the color I requested (basic white and neutral French nails lol). Ok fine, I'll splurge. I told the girls I am in a wedding this weekend so I just needed something that would last. I will attach the inspiration pic to this post so you can see how horrendously off my nails are. I had two different techs work on me, one who did the tips, shaping, and base color. The second corrected the color (which was violently pink) and added the white tips. I asked for a neutral or taupe color and the fix was still way too pink. Note the tips are not straight, not filled to the edges, and the shape!!! Oh my god. I'm not sure what even happened. It's not almond and it's not stiletto. I'll give them credit - I asked for them to round out the shape a little and fix the color... I guess they tried. I am horrified. Also got an overpriced regular pedicure that took all of 5 minutes and did not include the massage chair. Will not be back and will be out another $100 when I go elsewhere to get this corrected before the wedding. read more

I love coming to Nail Lounge. The entire crew always treats me like a queen. They are respectful, kind and wonderful at what they do. They pamper all their clients. I particular enjoy a back rub from Ana as Stella does my UV light nails. A hot compress on my back at times is also a delight. While I tend to keep my nails simple typically, they do ombré nails that are just a piece of art. I have been coming to this salon and highly recommend it! read more

My mom and I were drawn to this salon based on how nicely decorated it is and assumed since it's in Avon that I would get top notch service. That was not the case... this is actually a no-frills type of place in disguise. The prices are high, the staff has no clue how to properly treat customers. I felt rushed - (2 extra staff members were waiting for my eyebrows to finish so they could quickly get my toes to dry so they could eat lunch, and they were not quiet about their intention!) I went there because i wanted to try a new place. They took me right Away. The people were friendly and it was nice inside and they gave me a heated pillow to put behind my back which felt great . But they didn't use the tools for file off the old polish just used nail files, they were very rough also. The lady who did my uv gel was very rough grinding my nails down. She cut me twice. I let it slide The gentleman did the polish and the nails came out good, there's a few bubbles in the polish but Whatever. I'm literally less than A week in and one nail has already chipped. I didn't do anything rough to cause the nail to chip. I didn't catch it on anything or snag it either. I'm kind of disappointed. I guess on to the next salon to try read more

I've been to nail lounge 4 times since they opened in July 2013 and this is my new go-to salon. It's modern, clean, and the staff is friendly and professional. It's beautiful inside, but not good quality if you're looking for anything above a basic manicure/ pedicure. Asked for a specific nail shape, and the girl gave me these awkwardly rounded nails that look worse then before I went in. I also explained I wanted a gel overlay and they waited until they were done, to tell me they don't have gel overlay. The woman applied at least 3-4 coats of polish on my nails and it was so thick I had to ask her to remove. I also Asher very specifically for just a toe polish change, that I did not need or want a pedicure etc. They still charged me $26 for a toe polish change and I wasted 1.5 hours. read more

My husband and I made an appointment for pedicures, and I'm delighted to say that they were ready for us when we arrived. The staff was friendly, the color choices were plentiful, and the place looked very clean. I was disappointed to see that they use the jetted foot tubs - awful for hygiene. Awful service. Made an appointment a month in advance and they didn't have it. I was supposed to get a manicure and pedicure. They seated me at the pedicure seats that are hard and uncomfortable and waited an hour and a half for them to finish. Two other people came in and their appointments were messed up too.
