My gel manicures last way past two weeks; and what with me doing needlepoint and knitting -- that is just amazing. I am visiting from out of town and needed a pedicure. This was the 1st place I saw so went with it. The good - I didn't have to wait and the pedicure was decent. The bad - when she came back to the drying area I was seated at with my receipt I noticed a "tax". Not being from Connecticut I asked about the tax. She said it was because I paid by credit card? If she would have told me that as I handed her my card I would have just paid cash. I'm guessing it's their way of passing the credit card processing charge onto their customers. After she brought my receipt up to the desk, she came back and walked behind me. I thought she was trying to get by me. But then I felt her hands on my back. She was giving me a massage!??!? She didn't say anything in advance. I had no idea this was going to happen because I had only requested a basic pedicure. She massaged me for 1-2 minutes. This was a creepily unexpected surprise. Quite possibly the best pedicure I've ever had. Came in for a mani/pedi and also eyebrow wax. I had made an appointment which didn't end up being necessary. The inside is very spacious, clean and bright. A woman named Moon did my pedicure, manicure and waxing. By far the best pedicure I've ever had- the "normal" pedicure came with hot stones, an amazing leg and foot massage, and warming scrub. The massage chair was great too. Manicure was just as good. I only gave 4 stars because my eyebrow wax seemed very rushed, although it came out just fine. Also, other reviews indicated that if you paid cash you would get a 5% discount- I paid all cash but did not get any discount, which was disappointing- I went to the ATM prior to my appointment based on that tip. I went here on the recommendation of my wife, who has been here before for manicures and pedicures. It was time to pamper my feet so we called ahead and they said come on down The salon looked moderately upscale and was well-maintained. The one thing I immediately noticed was a battery of 10 pedicure chairs. I felt comforted that this was one of their specialties, and being a male in a largely female serviced industry, I needed all the comfort I can get! There was some confusion as to who my technician was supposed to take care of. Eventually he settled down and started taking care of me, although he quietly muttered a few things under his breath, leading me to believe he was disappointed that I was a guy, adding to the level of discomfort I was always experience by being the only male person at a spa at any given time. He offered me a menu of several different options. This was new, as I had always just put my feet in the bath and let them have at me lol. Being not to pedicure savvy, I chose the least expensive one, at $55, Which included and herbal treatment set and five minutes of hot rock massage. The gentleman was as meticulous as one would expect in a professionally run shop, even taking the time to make sure the nail on the big toe on my right foot was trimmed down the side to prevent irritation. I was impressed with his methods, and the results were quite good. Bottom line, I would go back, and hopefully would feel less over time that I stick out in a crowd. read more

We were in town for wedding dress shopping to get a manicure / pedicure. Walked in and were asked to come back as they were short handed. BEST THING WE EVER DID WAS RETURN! Two of us got pedicures and the staff couldn't have been more personable and very attentive to detail. Ehh. Disappointed today. I went in to get my gel manicure removed. I guess they didn't want to just remove my gel, because two people asked if I wanted a regular manicure...so I said, no problem- I'll just get clear nail polish. I really wanted to give my nails a break. Joy came over and started removing my gel. Throughout the process, she said, "oh my god" under her breath at least three times, complaining that it was stuck on and had a hard time coming off. Really rude. I guess she continued to be frustrated, because then she was SO rough- not only filing really hard, but also digging her own nails into my fingers and squeezing my fingers really hard. It was quite a painful experience. after she got the gel off, she cut my cuticles and then put on one coat of nail nail hardener. I would hardly call it a manicure. Then, at the end, she gave me a 20 second (no, seriously) massage at the drying table and charged me $20. I think charging me $20 was so ridiculous, considering a manicure is $15. I would have expected to be charged $15 at the most! I didn't even get a real manicure. I won't be coming back here. read more

Every service is performed perfectly; and all of their people are kind, thoughtful and aim to please. I had my acrylics filled today; my friend had a gel manicure and pedicure today. Both of us are very happy! While we did witness someone come in and express dissatisfaction--it was obvious that she had insisted on a service that was not appropriate for her. But, the owners handled her with great finesse and resolved the issue wonderfully well. I don't usually leave reviews but I was so upset and hurt when I left this salon that I called my mom to let out my frustration before I was able to drive. I went in to get a pedicure and the whole time I felt so embarrassed and upset when I had no reason to feel that way. The lady acted so disgusted the whole time and her co worker kept coming to look at my nails and acting the same way. She also didn't give me a full pedicure. No lotion, no massage, no nothing. Just the cuticles and nail polish. Then when she was done she turned off the massage chair without saying a word and directed me to the drying station. I then left with wet nails because she walked up to me not even 5 minutes later and asked if I could pay. Then proceeded say she could take the card for me and bring it back. I declined because I don't feel comfortable handing my card to somebody who was so incredibly disrespectful. So I paid and left. Worst experience ever. I do not recommend. read more

Honestly, I'm not a fan. After visiting here, I'm seriously bummed that I strayed from my regular spot in Simsbury. I got in quick enough, but once in the chair, I was told I couldn't use the color i'd chosen because it was part of a special set that was misplaced with all the other colors. Fair enough. After I picked a similar color, the lady doing my manicure went about working on my feet as though I had horse hooves. Not to sound like a complete snot bag, but i regularly get pedicures so my feet aren't in too rough of shape, but holy moly, this pedicure hurt. Instead of soaking my feet first, she took what looked like your typical kitchen cheese grater to my DRY skin. Ouch!! The products she used in the foot soak irritated my skin and my legs were burning until everything was washed off. Half way through the pedicure, the lady doing my feet noticed one of her regular customers walking in so she basically shut off and quickly finished with me, ignoring me and getting up twice to make sure her next customer was comfy and waiting for her. She moved me to the drying station, picked up my bag off the floor next to me, threw it in my lap and said "you pay now". Wow. I was speechless. I have never been treated this poorly before in a place that is still in business. The atmosphere here is relaxed, but if I ever come back (highly unlikely) and the lady who helped me offers to do my pedicure, I will politefully decline. read more

I enjoyed the foot wash and scrape - and based on my gf's comments, apparently they did a really good job. The chair massage was okay, but the care I got with my feet was wonderful. I was anticipating them to break out the chain saw on my nails (like in Dumb and Dumber- ha!) but they had the tools to take care of a pair of feet that were neglected for many many many years. Brought my sister here for a birthday pedicure. It was the first visit to this salon for both of us. Didn't have an appointment, but we only waited a few minutes. We must've shown up at a good time because about 10 minutes into our pedicure, the place was packed. Good thing the place is so spacious and well-laid out! I really, really loved my pedicure. I've been to what seems like a kazillion salons throughout Western MA and Southern CT, but this is my favorite. I'm so jealous my sister lives closer to this salon than I do! My tech scrubbed my worn down feet without tickling me which was awesome. He was really kind when I had to request that he wash off the scrub on my legs because my sensitive skin started to freak out. One of the worst places I've ever been too, they cut my girlfriends finger and the "older lady that was practicing" told my girlfriend that the cut was there already.and the best thing was when she tried to use clear nail polish for glue for her nail set. My girlfriend politely asked her to take the set off because they were all different lengths... crooked. And they still charged me 60$ money wasn't the issue, it was the poor service and rudenesses. I LOVE THIS NAIL SALON. I have gone to, literally, every nail salon in the Farmington Valley and this is the best. Your manicures, pedicures and wax jobs are perfect. The wait is never long, even on a Friday or Saturday. Their manicures last about 1 1/2 weeks, maybe 2 full weeks if you are not constructing brick buildings by hand!!! Their pedicures last about 3 weeks, around the time you would get another one. At Christmas time, they give you gifts and they always have coffee, tea and water. I don't know anyone's name and don't have a favorite. They are all good. This salon is not cheap, but it is affordable and the best. Enjoy! read more

For the most part this is a great nail salon. I'm only giving them 2 stars because I'm a regular customer and just because I don't have gel nails or more expensive procedures I constantly get the most inexperienced staff members. I've made appointments each time I visit and each time when a customer comes in for certain services they switch me to someone that does inferior work. The manager spoke with me and offered me a free service but it's not about the money. Second time I've been here and again I'm disappointed. First time the guy was very rude and seemed bothered by my requests, albeit simple requests. The other day I went, a different gentleman did my gel nails and couldn't get my thumb correct. Ended up with 4 coats on my thumb and 2 coats on all other nails. Within 2 days 5 nails needed to be redone bc of chipping. This also included the 4 coated thumb that looked like it had a clump under it. They had difficulty matching my color and the nail tech was trying to tell me that once it dried the color would be the same... totally different color. Good pedicures, run about $32 for a basic pedi. Avoid the after pedi or mani 'massage', which is just someone mindlessly pounding on your back. It hurts, and it's not actually a massage. Also, seek out the more mature employees, as the Asian girls there are careless (the one I got the first time I went here was actually gazing out the window as she was doing my pedi), while the older ones take their time and give some attention to what they're doing. 'Eric' is a particularly good person for pedicures here. But again, take a pass on the 'massage'. read more

I love this place!! For 2 years I was dating my boyfriend who lived in Avon while I was in Boston... I would only get manicures when I came down to visit every other week because this place is sooooo good! Everything is clean, the employees are nice, and never a long wait. I love that as soon as you arrive they put your personal belongings (purse, jacket...) in a basket so that they can carry it for you while your nails are wet. While getting services you are offered water, tea, and coffee which really sets them apart.
