I've been going to Yoji since they opened as the are one of the only salons in the area that offer a Dip/Powder manicure which is my favorite. Joe is a gentlemen and has gone out of his way to remember my name and preferences and I always feel like a preferred client when I walk in and schedule appointments. I usually ask for Johnny to do my nails - he's my fav and I'm wildly particular. The salon is clean and serene and they typically run right on time. I will advise that it's best to call a few days in advance as appointments book quickly and ahead of time. This was the convenient place to go today in the center of town. All i did was call and they fit me in my perfect time. Leinda was very calm and made sure i was confortable. she asked me after every step if i liked the. she made sure to get the picture exactly right using all her techniques and she was very focused. the service was great and so are my nails. Yesterday I had MY first Covid era manicure AND tried the new powder dip nails in French tip style! I used to do gel nails, but no more! These beautiful eco friendly powder dip require no UV lights and take less time! They are no more expensive and feel slightly lighter thinner on. Joe is a true class act, always careful with the Covid precautions and gentle and patient with the customer. He was cordial, truly professional and a great technician. This was my second time at Yoji and I thought I would give it another try after not having the best experience the first time. I am very disappointed on how my nails turn out. I asked for a powder dip ombré French manicure and they came out like the picture below. They are clumpy and bumpy. They're just plain ugly. I didn't ask for a refund, I think small businesses have suffered long enough and I didn't want to add more to it. My advice to the owner, if your nail technicians don't know how to use powder, please don't have them practice it. read more

This was my second visit. My first time was great and I was thrilled to hopefully found a nail salon since moving to CT!! My gel manicure last 3 weeks and loved it. Unfortunately this visit one of nails broke and I was told there was nothing they could do because they don't do artificial nails. So I had my nails cut to the same length. They looked okay in the salon but when I left and inspected further they are unevenly shaped and the gel polish has bumps in it. I also had a pedicure and my toe nails were also poorly shaped. I have pictures coming up and looks like I won't have time to get them fixed prior to pictures. At least from a distance they won't look bad. Small businesses have take such a hit in this pandemic that I did not ask for a refund. I was really hoping this was going to be my place but I guess I will keep searching.... read more

I had a really great experience at YOJI Nails & Spa this morning. I've been in Connecticut for about 6 years and I have yet to find a really great nail salon until I found YOJI. Being a new establishment, the salon is super clean and is decorated really beautifully! What I love most about the salon is the gel polish that they use. The brand is bio seaweed gel and I love that it is free of all the crap in most gel polishes. There's also a good collection of gel colors to choose from. If you're doing regular polish, there's about 6 times the amount of gel colors available. Lin my nail technician was amazing! She was sweet and really listened to what I wanted. She was very attentive and took her time (but not too long) to ensure I was happy. I was happily surprised that they give a massage while your nails are drying. It's a little pricier than what I usually pay, but I am really happy with my service and will be coming back again! read more

I was referred to this spot by a friend who is a native to Glastonbury and after my fourth visit there I can say that it has been the best nail & spa experience I've had so far!! I had never heard of gel powder, so I tried it out after the same friend spoke highly of it. My goal was to lengthen and strengthen my nails due to nail biting and overall weakness. My gel powder manicure was awesome! I pushed the limits but it lasted almost 5 weeks without a single chip. When I had it removed today I saw beautiful long healthy nails and couldn't be happier. I was excited to try nail products that were less damaging. Unfortunately, my gel manicure started to chip by then of the day and I was forced to peel most of it off. The person that did my manicure wasn't pleased with me when I pointed out that the color options on the card didn't show up the same on the nail as it was on the card. Perhaps the lighting in there wasn't good but after one coat, we had to redo an accent nail because it was so drastically different. He grew frustrated with me when I could decide because I felt like whatever I picked next wouldn't be what I thought, either. When I paid I was told, "in the future, we appreciate if you paid cash." The bleeding didn't stop and he continued to put more alcohol on it. ... I know mistakes happen but never have I had three fingers bleed from getting my nails done. Today was the first time going there and I will definitely be back. I had an appointment for 1130, and showed up early at 11 because I was done running around. There were only 3 people working and everyone was occupied so I did have to wait - but that is to no ones fault. I hope the powder lasts, because it's beautiful. I keep meaning to write this and after multiple visits and finally trying a pedicure, I simply MUST rave about this place ! I tried this place out when they first opened and received a special welcome discount which I thought was a nice touch for a new business. The owner Joe suggested that I try the gel POWDER because it is much better for your nails and the powder itself is non-toxic with vitamins to strengthen your nails. I tried it and I don't think I'll ever go back to UV! I was expecting my nails to be brittle or damaged when they took it off the first time I went back, but they felt stronger than they have been in a while considering I used to get the UV regularly! The atmosphere inside is so cute, and I love the fact that everything is organic or non-toxic. Also, cleanliness is HUGE to me and they open up a brand new single set of tools for every customer, along with a plastic liner in the pedicure tubs. I always look forward to going to Yoji, and I absolutely recommend trying the powder ! I've never had my nails last this long with no chips before- Exhibit A: attaching a picture of my nails TODAY. I got these done on/ around November 2nd. Besides being grown out, they look AWESOME and I even received compliments on them two times last week. Go here ! Try them! Trust me ! I have only written a few reviews on Yelp, and I typically have good news to share, but unfortunately this time, it's not so good. I moved to Glastonbury in July, and being a strong believer in supporting my local businesses, I decided to give Yoji Nails a try - not once, but twice. The salon is well-executed, and one of the nicest churn-and-burn nail salons I've been to, but the staff, including the owner himself are far from pleasant. I don't expect warm and fuzzy, but I felt unwelcome and much like they were doing me the favor - not once, but twice. If my manicure and pedicure were spectacular on either occasion, I would at least share that, but they weren't, and because the customer service was so bad, even though the salon is much closer to my home than other places in town, I will not even go back in a pinch. I gave two stars because the place is nicely decorated. A word to the owner, there are people out there that will patronize an establishment because they are treated well. I Live about 30 minutes from the salon but because of their beautiful website and amazing reviews I decided to take the trip. The salon is by appointment only but I called this morning (same day) and got an appointment in just a few hours. When I got there I was shocked at how beautiful, clean, and welcoming the salon was. I have been going to YOJI for over a year now, which for me is a huge deal, I used to change nail salons pretty much every 2 months. When I first started going to YOJI my nails were in terrible shape, they were legitimately paper thin and so damaged from the nail drill that many nail salons use that when they were filled my whole nail would wave! Joe has never used a drill on my nails and has hand filed them from day one. Today my nails can be filed without any worry that that will bend like a wet pasta noodle and look amazing and healthy. Joe uses only the best for his customers and takes his time. The nail salon is spotless and has never smelled like a nail salon. Yoji Nails is AMAZING! I have been going since they opened up and they have always done a great job. They are clean and attentive and always leave time for a massage (which in my experience other nail salons don't). I went there couple of months ago ... the lady who attended me , I guess was the owner was so rude I said I need no color on my toes she did not reply when I repeated she rudely replied to me I HEARD YOU OK and rushed to do my pedicure and manicure, to my suprise I was done in 35mins Sharp both Mani with gel polish and pedi no color it felt like she did a favor on me. ... switched to another better nail salon...
