This is the second time I've been, this place is incredible! I am quite picky on my nail shape, color, and how it's done and they check every box! The space itself is so so so cute! There's an adorable mural and everything inside is so perfect! I only use OPI dip for my nails and they have just about every single color! I am very active and use my hands a lot and I told him I'd rather have 3 layers instead of two and he didn't give me any push back whatsoever which I feel like is rare! They are always smiling and happy the times I've been in. If I've had any questions they've answered them to the fullest! Highly recommend! I've found my spot! We went to this salon because my daughter was getting married nearby. There were 5 of us who got manicures & pedicures. The salon itself is big, beautiful & looked very clean. The service was a HUGE disappointment. The basic pedicure ($40) was not very good at all. The gentleman who was doing my pedicure went through the motions very quickly and put absolutely no effort or care into it. It felt very rushed. It was not worth the money at all. Upon walking in the door, I am blown away by how clean everything was! From the floor, to the seats, to the nail polish shelves, everything was spotless. I hear horror stories every day of people who end up with infections due to unclean nail salons, so cleanliness is essential. My best friend and I were immediately welcomed and sat right away next to each other for our manicures. I found both nail techs to be friendly and very thorough. So unprofessional! I was getting a pedicure when the technician was called away to do a waxing on another customer, leaving me sitting there for 10 minutes, feet soaking in cool water. Then they have some dumb reason why they charge men $5 more for a basic pedicure then women. We all have 10 toes. To top it off the, the cashier asked if I would leave the tip in cash, I guess she's too cheap to pay th CC company's service fee. What a joint. I just moved to the area and have been hoping to find a good nail salon in town. I called ahead earlier today for a 5:15 gel manicure (Monday, mid-September). Got there about 10 minutes early and I was instructed to pick a color - as expected. I felt the gel manicure color selection could have had a little more variety but settled for the color that was closest to what I was hoping to get. I was seated immediately, but they had me soak my nails in remover to soak the old gel off which took some time and I felt abandoned at my table for what felt like at least 15 minutes. The salon was very clean, cute decor, no funky smells or anything, but I did find it odd that there were a few flies flying around, although they did have the front doors open welcoming the fresh air from this nice day. Joy was my nail technician. She did a phenomenal job. She perfected the shape of my nails and checked with me multiple times to ensure I liked the shape and the way the color was coming out on my nails. She also used this amazing coconut hand scrub that left my hands feeling so nice and smooth. The gel mani was $30 which I would say is average and what I expected. They have a membership offer going on where you can accrue points and eventually get $15 off. I'll definitely be coming back and may even request to have Joy do my nails if I'm feeling sassy. 8.5/10. read more

This was the most horrific experience in a nail salon in my life. The owner is unbelievably rude and unprofessional and doesn't understand customer service or how to make you feel welcomed or relaxed, which is why you go to a nail salon in the first place. There were so many problems. I told my nail artist I felt I was being maltreated and was hurt in how the owner was speaking to me. He overheard me telling her this and screamed at me and in front of everyone " you must never come back to my nail salon again"! After that I was basically in tears and was trying to hold it back. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. He handed me a bill and it was higher price than I thought so I asked for a cost breakdown and that angered him even more. He shouted the costs at me. He then said that the polish I chose had a much higher cost, and no one told me when I chose it nor was it listed as such on a sign when you choose polish colors. This also is unprofessional. I still paid the bill and he asked for tip as well to be added onto my card ( and this was after he officially stated to all I was never to return to this salon again) . I said I would pay her a tip in cash and he seemed more angry about that. I paid her a tip anyway because I know she works hard and the owner's unprofessional behavior is not her fault. After all this, I was left with wet nails, trying to dry them and put on my sunglasses to hide my tears...I left crying. Please do not use or recommend this business. read more

I tried many places before sauntering into Han's. Located in a strip mall in the heart of Simsbury center, the exterior is a bit misleading but, walking in, it is decorated nicely and very clean. There's usually a wait for walk-ins but, it's worth it, you can head over to Peaberry's for a coffee or Peachwave for frozen yogurt. You could also call ahead for an appointment. At the end of a long week there is nothing better than someone rubbing scented oil on your hands and sore calves. The color application lasts several weeks and they offer quite the variety of shellac, acrylic, etc. They even have a special small chair for little ones. The pedicures are great and very relaxing however, as in most nail salons, they do a good job of hurrying you out the door. I returned to this nail salon after a couple of years to find it under new ownership. I was pleasantly surprised with the dip powder french manicure I received a couple of weeks ago. This was my first experience with a french manicure with the dip powder technique, by the way. It was done well by the technician so I decided to go again yesterday. First of all, I left work early to arrive to my 2:15 appointment because I had other errands to run before a party I was headed to. I arrived a little early and showed the nail technician an image of what I wanted, dip powder french manicure with black tips with one nail a sparkly black. There were no powders in a sparkly black but he mentioned he would still be able to achieve the look I wanted. I was very specific with how I wanted my nails done and I also explained that I am very picky with my nails. As he was dipping my nails into the powder, I noticed the edges and corners didn't have color-he wasn't painting the entire nail from edge to edge with the base coat. I was already annoyed...a dip powder french manicure is more expensive, if not the most expensive manicure, and I expect perfection. I made it a point to show him his mistakes throughout the process so he would correct them. After about 2 hrs of him meticulously attempting to achieve what I requested, I pointed yet another error he made. He then said something to the owner and she came over to see my nails and commented that "They look good.", to which I replied 'No'. He completely took the color off of the nail that had a black smudge on to redo. Meanwhile there are customers continuing to come in and I was holding them back from business, which is how they made me feel. After being there from 2:15-5, I had enough and to leave because I was running behind. I left disappointed and angry for a mediocre nail job. My black tips were not sharp and crisp, some were faded and dull, others were shiny. Some of my tips were thicker in the corners than others from him continuously dipping into the powder to correct. My nails were not evenly filed and the job just didn't look uniform or professional. I know they just wanted me out of there. I happen to work in health/retail and customer service and I use my hands in my field to display products and show my clients materials. I need to present myself well in my profession in all facets and I felt the technician and the other workers did not execute their job well at all or professionally. read more

I went to Han's Nails today. I don't usually get my nails "done" but did so for my daughter's wedding in April at Han's Nails and was completely satisfied. Next I went to a place in Southington and it was horrible. My nails looked like plastic was dripped on the ends of my fingers. Today, the attendant, Kelly, took the time to listen to what I wanted and delivered much to my satisfaction. I will definitely be returning! To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. When I walked In Every employee was on their phone watching shows, etc. after choosing my color I received a sub par pedicure. Next was the gel manicure where things really went south. as she was applying the color to the nail, I could tell it was being sloppily done. The polish was on the cuticles, and was entirely uneven. I asked the technician to remove the polish from my cuticles, and she said "wash your hands a few times it will come off". When I requested that my color be applied even the technician had yet another great one liner "oh this color dances off of the nail". I left the salon in utter shock, and the day ultimately ended when someone asked me if my ten month old child gave me my manicure. My wife has turned me on to pedicures to take care of these hooves on the end of my legs (some people have human feet in the same location). Han's makes a guy feel welcome and I really feel like I'm getting my money's worth with fairly extensive foot and calf massages. The biggest thing that i like is that Han's is very clean and I feel like they understand sanitary protocols. Also the nature of the layout is nice so that you never feel like you're in the front window for everyone to gawk at. I like to read while i'm getting a pedicure and i never feel like i'm ignoring the person working on my feet, they just make you feel very comfortable there. We took my mother there for a little pampering after a difficult week. She uses a walker to get around and the owner refused to let her use it because it might scratch the already scratched floors. He was incredibly rude. He wheeled her in a chair to the back where they do the pedicures. We received what I'd call and express pedicure for the price of a regular pedicure. From start to finish we were done it 20 min! I still have dry skin on my heels. We were rushed out even though we were the only ones in the place. When we were done he was rude to our mother because it took her a bit to get up. He wouldn't let us help her and insisted on putting the chair too far for her to walk without her walker... This by far was the WORST pedicure I've ever had. The manager/owner was rude. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone and will never return!!!! I drive by every day so I decided to give it a try. I was not excited. Iv been looking to a go to pedicure in the Farmington valley for over a year now and can't seem to find one that goes above and beyond the absolute bare minimum. I walked in at 610(they close at 7) both women in front looked at the clock as if I was already a inconvenience she rushed through the entire pedicure no lotions, salts or scrubs no option for a better pedicure nothing I asked for a 10m massage 5 min into my pedicure and she said NO we close soon unbelievable. Overpriced and underwhelming. I have been here a few times now as the location is convenient, but I am done giving them chances and would much rather drive another 10 minutes to go elsewhere. There is a reason why this place does not have a wait time on a Friday afternoon while other nail salons are packed. Although the decor is nice and clean enough the service is awful. There is one particular employee that is blatantly rude and disrespectful. Imagine a nail salon horror story of someone staring at you and then talking to their coworker in a foreign language making you feel extremely uncomfortable. This has happened every single time I have gone. My (overpriced) gel manicure barely lasts one week so it's just not worth it. The straw that finally broke the camels back is when we left then a 20% tip and the workers were clearly dissatisfied. Definitely not worth going to. I have tried to go there twice and find the owner to be always flustered and clearly he does not want or need new customers. Tonight walked in to find 2 girls filing their nails with no customers and he said they were closing at 7:00. He said they wanted to be home by 7 and guess what.... so did I. It was 6:10 at the time. Terrible experience. I was given a gift card from a friend, so I figured I would try it out. At first glance, the environment and decor are very welcoming. However, I quickly came to find myself feeling extremely unwelcome by the employees. First off, me and another woman were the only people in the entire salon and we were sat directly next to each other (for pedis) just so the employees could talk, and boy did they talk A LOT and LOUDLY. Next, I told the employee I didn't want my nails cut and she looked at me and said "uhhh are you sure? They're really long..." She then proceeded to cut them anyways. She cut them extremely short and in a weird shape. She didn't take the nail polish that I was previously wearing fully off- it was still showing through the edges. Also, she rushed through the paint job and didn't paint my entire nail so she could get to the next paying customer. Both times I went there, the massage was hardly a massage. It was more like them petting your legs with oil- not satisfying at all. Lastly, I go to tip the employee a 20% tip (even though I didn't feel she deserved it) and she had this look of total dissatisfaction and looked at me like she was waiting for a larger tip. I use to go to Han's nails for months but the customer service there is poor. They are not at all friendly. Every time I go to check out the guy ALWAYS ask to forcefully how much tip do I want to leave. I always make sure to leave a tip, so they should let customers leave the tip freely whether it's on the credit card or cash I'm sure we all have adapt the manner to leave a tip. The nail techs talk amongst each other than their customer. Never ask how are you , how your day is going , or anything. A few of my friends and neighbors who use to visit the salon said they same thing, so I know it was not just me. Hans nails is my go to place for a manicure, pedicure, waxing and quite often, all 3! They are, by far, the best nail salon in CT... and I've tried A LOT of places! Prices are very reasonable especially considering the service the give you. Every person there always does 100% on my nails... they are always perfect! I cannot express how professional, clean and friendly they are. They have the absolute best selection of polishes and magazines too. I do not even live or work fairly close to this salon however I will go out of my way to have my nails done there before even thinking about going elsewhere. I usually make an appointment, and I can always rely on it where other locations will bump your appointment in a heartbeat for a walk in. I recommend all of my family friends to go Han's.
