Recently moved to Connecticut and wanted to chop off a significant chunk of hair (7-8 inches) - I wanted a low-maintenance (I don't own a blowdryer) style that still had some STYLE. I really enjoyed my experience at Byrde + the b - collarbone-length style looks great and was $110, very reasonable in my opinion for a good women's haircut. The stylist was friendly, quick, and offered to wear a mask if I preferred. She washed and styled my hair too! The salon is super cute and everyone was very nice. read more

Fabulous space in the middle of Washington Depot. NYC style meets country chic. Perfect spot to cater to all your hair care needs without having to drive to the city. They also have sweet items available for sale. Highly recommend! Pair with lunch at the Mayflower for a relaxing day of pampering. read more

HIGHLY recommend this salon. I booked them for hair and make-up for myself and family for my wedding. First of all, Scott and Lucy are just really good at what they do. I went to quite a few salons in the area for a trial, and no one quite captured what I wanted like they did. Lucy just GOT IT, did my hair in about a third of the time as others, and used half as many pins and product -- the mark of a truly good stylist! They impromptu put a beautiful orchid in my hair, plucked from a flower pot in the salon, and it ended up being the signature piece at the wedding. If you need more reasons: The salon is beautiful (brooklyn chic meets hamptons luxury) -- it was the most fabulous, calming possible place to have a glass of champagne before the big event. Scott and Lucy are FUN to hang out with. The place felt like their living room and everyone there was just so at ease. Finally, the prices are very reasonable. Trust me, I shopped around. Given the beautiful space and excellent stylists I was sure that this was out of my price range, but it was cheaper than almost every salon in the area (and did I mention, better?). Amazing! I moved from Los Angeles almost four years ago and had a very bad experience when I first moved here and had my hair cut somewhere in Woodbury. Love this place. Great vibe, farmhouse decor featuring local artisans, and large doors open to the beautiful Washington views. The stylists are terrific; a very talented team. I love my haircut and color, so much so that I also brought my son here for his cut. I highly recommend the salon. read more

Absolutely a 5 star salon!! Scott and his crew are the bees knees After 3 years of attempting to fix a train wreck hair cut, with many other stylists, Scott has done the unaccomplishable! My hair is full, luxurious and the Balayage is out of this world! The compliments won't stop over my hair!! I haven't felt this good in a long time and it's only been 3 appointments! She has worked at several different places complaining that her boss at The hair Doctor gave her a hard time. Then she started working at Sheer Dimensions for a while then decided to leave that salon. Now she currently works at Guys and dolls. She has a crappy attitude and I should be able to get my hair colored the way I want it to be colored and she shouldn't of been doing 3 other customer's hair while I waited 4 hours. If you are reading this Danielle you know I have always given you a good tip and you need to be more professional and stop booking appointments and then doing other customers hair. I shouldn't have to apologize for something you did wrong and messed up, so good luck staying at this hair place as you obviously can't stay in one place since you are very unprofessional.

Pilar has been doing my brows for a few years now and I will never go anywhere else! She is the best of the best!!! Not only does she take great care with my brows, but she advises me on everything related to beauty and skin care. She's fun, thoughtful, kind, and extremely talented. I brought my 15 year old to her (who had been trying to take care of her brows herself) and she was instantly sold as well. And, my mom loves Pilar and her work too! Pilar is gifted at her work, but also at people. She relates well to everyone in a genuine way - all generations. My 15 year old thinks she is SO cool and my mom adores her as well. GREAT experience. When one decides to part with 5 inches of hair, it is a leap of faith. I am SO glad I took that leap with Scott, he was careful and respectful, gave his recommendation and confirmed that I was comfortable with it and I am absolutely delighted that I took his advice. My son just had his first appointment with James. He is amazing and made my 17 year old very feel very at ease with moving to a new barber. His space was amazingly welcoming and just a cool vibe. James was interested in getting to know us, as are we were interested in getting to know him, by the end of the appointment, we wished we asked him to dinner. lol... so happy to have found this beautiful place! So happy that Scott has opened the perfect salon outside of the city. Scott's color fits me perfectly (a rich, warm dark brown I haven't gotten from anyone else) and makes me look younger, better rested and prettier. Pilar is the absolute best when it comes to brows! Look no further if you need help in this area. She is kind, funny and oh so talented! Pilar has done wonders for my brows and I'd be afraid to let anyone else touch them! And she's not only talented but also an amazing, genuine and caring person! Going to this salon is an experience. Scott Bond and his staff Lucy and Lizzy, decor, and service is such a treat. Highly recommend this spot. You can also buy Scott's organic products, his shampoo leaves your hair so shiny! The salon also features art and interesting items from abroad that are available for purchasing. Byrde + the b continues to excel as a full service salon for men, women & children. Multiple Award Winner again in 2020 for Best Haircut, hair color, facial and barber. So lucky to have them in Litchfield County CT! They have added new services and now have anti-aging skin treatments including LED Light Therapy. read more
