I happened to drive by this gem one day and randomly popped in to see if I can make an appointment. The ladies in there were very nice. The atmosphere was giving tranquil and pleasant. I was able to make an appointment with Jaclyn. Jaclyn hooking me up is an understatement. This was more than a hairstyle; it was a transformation and Jaclyn did an AMAZING job. Wonderful service, very clean environment, the coolest and chillest vibe of a salon! Diane does an amazing job on color, I am a natural auburn with curly curly hair and each time she has nailed me and blonde. She is gentle, engaging, caring, and takes her time to make sure she has the best results. I have psoriasis and she was so non judgmental, caring, and did whatever she could to help my overall scalp and be careful with it. I brought in a piece of a clip in extension and she matched me seamlessly and perfectly, I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I was very disappointed by my second time here. I loved my first time experience in platinum salon when I had my hair done by Molly. I tried scheduling an appt with Molly again but the secretary couldn't find any open dates that matched with mine. So I ended up scheduling an appt with Brianna. Not a big deal since I trusted that they were all good. Big mistake! My experience with Brianna was very different from what I previously experienced with Molly. I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I think what I expedited it is way past that. First, I want to talk about professionalism. I don't know if beauty salons have any certain decorum or such thing as beauty school etiquette that is expected from the staff but at least some level of professionalism is expected right? When I had my hair done by Molly, she was very professional and friendly. My previous post says it all. Molly's consultation was considerate and thorough. She assessed my hair and asked me what I was looking for and she always referred back to the photo that I showed her at that time. Briana on the other hand only took a second to ask me what I wanted, and barely even looked at the photo that I showed her. I understand that there's process time and it's not a strict atmosphere but it felt like she was more on her phone than being attentive to her client. Like she left the seat all the way up that I had to "hop off" of it when she asked me to go to the sink. I was trying to start a conversation but she was just aloof. Maybe she was having a bad day or maybe she wasn't in the mood but whatever it was, it was awkward and should've been left at the door. Nobody likes this kind of service nor pay to to sit on a chair feeling like that. We all have bad days but the way she handled everything was disappointing. I can overlook professionalism if the results on services I paid for are stellar! Which brings me to the main issue. Brianna didn't really even take the time to assess my hair or ask me what exactly I was looking to achieve. When I asked for color and balyage highlights she indeed "balyaged" my hair; She pretty much just straight up painted my hair without giving any thought or care to the placement and how she painted in the chemical. My hair ended up two toned from my ears down. There was no dimension or anything. No color mixing or blending that was done. Just one sweep of so called balyage. More importantly, when I voiced out to her that I wanted ashy and not brassy, she straight up dismissed my concerns and told me that the color was "honey" and that "it would take a couple sessions to get it to a blonde." I know and I understand that hairstyles can vary and may not always come out exactly like a photo due to varying hair factors but this was straight neglectful. The color I was even going for was not even blonde!!This wasn't my first time getting my hair done. I know it's harder since I have dark hair but I know enough since I've had ash brown, cool caramel, lavender highlights, mermaid hair, Etc done to my hair. I told her I wasn't trying to go for blonde but I just didn't want it to look orange either. She insisted that it was a honey color. I beg to differ. Honey" color on a dark to black hair is not honey. Her response and tone alone was very unpleasant. She did not try to remedy it or at least try to tone down the color to a customer's request. I just wish that if she had such a rough day or maybe if she didn't like me as a customer, that she should've stepped back and relinquished her job to somebody else. More importantly, i felt like she was rushing the whole thing. After barely washing my hair, a client of hers arrived. One can safely assume that this is a contributing factor as to why she rushed my session with her so I could get out of her chair and start on her friend. Lastly, with the color already a mess, the haircut she did was also mediocre. I asked for a textured piecey layers, she nonchalantly responded that she doesn't do razor cut and just continued to cut my hair. Overall, the whole entire process I was wishing I was sitting on Molly's chair and not on hers! I hated my second time around and wished that I should've just waited for Molly. Writing this review and having to relive that experience is horrible and I hope that nobody will have to feel that way. I know... "it's just hair and it will grow back".... but that is not the point. Why does one have to endure such an unpleasant experience? I wanted to post a photo of the botched hair but I was too upset to even take one. I cried on my way to my car and went to Sally's beauty store to try and remedy the so called "honey" orange mess myself since I couldn't bear going to work looking like carrot top. My husband is still mad that I even paid her ($130) and more so on the fact that I still gave her a tip ($30) despite the awful service! By far, one of my top horrible hair experience!!! My hair is completely damaged and now i have to wait over a year with sensitive, delicate, nappy hair. Before this i had beautiful curls and i came out with a frizzy, tangled, over bleached mess. Horrible experience TWICE! The first time I went to the salon I spent over four hours there For a cut and hair dye, while the girl who I had an appointment with worked on two other clients at the same time. I called to voice a complaint regarding this and was told that I had a $25 credit so they could get my business again. I figured I would give them a second chance, because everyone deserves one, right, WRONG! Well, I am wildly sad to say that I had my second appointment recently and sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes before anybody from the salon greeted me. It took another client walking in before they even noticed me. While I understand they had an emergency that day and I am sympathetic to this. I sat for an hour and five minutes before being called in after having to rearrange my schedule with my son to come in earlier to accommodate the hairstylist who didn't even tell me that she was running beyond an hour late. I then saw a different stylist and was WAY overcharged for the services, not given the $25 credit and hate to say it but my hair line looks horrible. I have never experienced worse customer service in my life and the owner of the salon should be ashamed of the way she handled the whole situation. This was my first visit to the salon, and truthfully, I had only walked in because I'd had a question about if they used a certain product anymore (several salons advertise it, but don't actually use it when you ask, or you get an eyeroll) and if they could make a miracle happen. Well! Not only was I offered that the product could be brought to the salon, but that I could have an appointment for a corrective color appointment in only a couple hours. HECK YES. I haven't been to a salon to have my hair done nicely in...several years. I get it cut to donate it, but I don't normally get it done, so the fact that I'm agreeing to and getting a color appointment is a miracle in itself. I say this because I've gone to numerous salons and either have been told "well, this is what we CAN do..." or "that's impossible, it's just not going to happen" or in the case of Cost Cutters, my appointment day came and they called to cancel it FOR me. Nobody would lighten my hair, and nobody would even attempt. I understand, because when someone says "I've been box-dying it black for 18 years" you sort of have a panic attack. That's where Danielle came in. She asked what I would want if I could have the hair of my dreams, and when I showed her, I was as honest and exact about my 'hair history' as I could be, and then dared to ask if it was really possible. I'm used to the rejection after basically decades of it. She didn't laugh or eyeroll, didn't put me down, make excuses. Not at all. In fact she got really excited for the challenge, explained to me what was going to realistically happen, and got right to work. She was on a mission! This wonderful woman worked on my hair for ten grueling hours (broken into two days) to lighten, color, tone, dye, lighten, lighten, color, tone, dye- TONS of processes. Sounds scary, right? I don't think anyone in my life has ever wanted something to happen for me so much. I was so excited to see what was going on, and I loved her coloring process! Danielle took the most incredible care to have every part of the color blend naturally and look really good, with no bleachy white spots or patchy areas, no weird colors or "that will be olay for now". She was an absolute perfectionist and did every single thing I asked for, even during the process. While I was under the dryer or processing she constantly checked on me, made sure everything was going the way it was supposed to, and she was so fun to work with on this enormous project. By the end of the second day (with more to come! I asked for silver and we're going for silver!) I was and am SO SO SO SOOOO happy with how my hair looks right now. The color is incredible, the roots are the right color and fade, and my hair really looks natural and amazing, with next to NO damage! Can you believe that? I'm so happy with my experience. I moved from Los Angeles, CA last fall and had an amazing stylist there so finding a new one that was equally as good was a daunting task. I chose Platinum Salon and was offered Taylor as my stylist. I asked her to cut and color my hair. She said I needed to add low lights since it was super blond and she cut it. It came out very dark with the blonde still in the ends and some in the front but since it was fall I accepted the change. It looked really nice and I was pleased. For my second appointment I wanted to add back in new blonde highlights pointing to the blonde which I called platinum but she corrected me it wasn't that exact shade (but a few shades darker yet no debating it was very blond). She hand painted in the HLs and then added a glaze. When my hair was done it was completely dark reddish not blonde! I was horrified but didn't create a scene trying to remain calm. She said that it was a "bit darker" but would lighten up after a few washings so "don't freak out". A bit darker??? I came in with some blonde and left with none, I mean it was dark! SO I trusted her and after a few washings it was still dark. I contacted her and she said she would do a clarifying treatment and it would be blond after that. WE did the treatment and it was slightly lighter not blond. So she said "give it a few days and then if you're not happy I'll put some foils in your hair and correct it." I said ok. A few days went by and I contacted her again and she said that she could do a clarifying treatment to correct the color. I said that she already did that. She said she would do a high powered treatment and it would work this time. I said it probably won't work. She said it would. So we did the treatment and this was the third time I had seen her for the color and of course it didn't work. She said she would put in some foils for me on another day because she didn't have time. So when I contacted her to finally set up the fourth appointment she now said that I had to pay her for the product to correct the problem. I told her that she had lost a customer. She said "sorry you feel that way. Best of luck to you." Can you believe that? Hey everybody makes mistakes but she didn't take responsibility for her novice inexperience. Today, was my first time... I gotta say I loved it here!!! Brianna Engle did her thing on my hair. I showed her a "hair inspiration" picture of what I wanted and she executed the look. I would recommend her if you're looking for a place to get your hair done. Overall my visit here was great the ladies in the salon are welcoming and friendly. They take care of you as if you are in their own home, making sure you are comfortable while you are on your visit. This definitely won't be the last visit for sure!! Horrible experience here. I was seeing one of the girls upstairs, Brianna, for almost a year to lighten my hair enough to get it to go to silver and then when it was time for the silver she put the dye on and it came out black. !!! all the lightening for nothing. I left the salon very upset and texted the hairdresser saying I was extremely unhappy with how it came out and almost spending 1000$ over the past year (not kidding she charged me 150 every time) . Platinum Salon DESTROYED my hair. If you choose to go to Platinum Salon, I DO NOT advise allowing Brianna Reilly to touch your hair. I had never dyed my hair before my experience with her. My hair was extremely long, straight, and healthy, and after making the mistake of going to her, my hair is so badly damaged beyond repair. It has been 6 months since I went to her and I still have not been able to fix the damage she caused, even after hundreds of dollars worth of treatments. I wanted to get "ombré" on my hair, so I showed her photos of her own work, and clearly explained what I wanted. I am aware that everyone's hair is different, and no one can recreate an exact replica of a photo. However, what she did was not even close. I let her know that I had never dyed my hair before, and I certainly did not want to cause any damage. She began coating my hair with bleach and foils, claiming that bleach is the absolute only way to lighten hair. Being unfamiliar with hair color, I believed her. I later found out that bleach is absolutely not the only way to lighten hair, ESPECIALLY not virgin hair like mine. After having the foils in my hair for a while, the ones resting on my neck and shoulders were actually BURNING me. There was actual smoke coming off of my hair. She eventually took all of the foils out and washed my hair, brushed it, and dried it. After all of those foils, my hair looked almost identical to the way it looked before I walked in, and she charged me $160 for it. She later posted on Instagram a photo of my hair, raving about the "balayage highlights" she gave me. Highlights?! I never asked for highlights. My hair looked nothing like an ombré, it looked streaky and poorly done. I even had someone ask if I did my hair myself because it looked so bad. I came to terms with the fact that she was unable to do what I asked. However, when I washed my hair, I realized I had a much bigger problem than the way it looked. My hair became so ratty and tangled as soon as it touched water. It felt like straw. It took me over an hour to brush through my hair after taking a shower (before going to her it would take 5 minutes maximum). 6 months later, it still takes me at least 30 minutes. My current hair dresser and colorist is appalled at what Brianna has done to me, and has tried numerous treatments to fix what she has done. My hair is still in such terrible shape that I can only wash it once a week to avoid the frustration that comes with brushing it out after. Even when it's dry, it feels more like doll hair than real hair. I think any woman could agree that our hair is extremely important to us. Brianna destroying my hair has been absolutely devastating to me. It has cost me so much money, time, and stress trying to get my hair back to the way it was before I went to her. My personal advice is to steer clear of her. I would not wish this experience on anyone. read more
