As a resident of Cromwell, I've driven by Green Lotus many times, but today was the first time I decided to give it a try, and it was a great choice! I called Green Lotus late in the afternoon inquiring about an appointment for facial waxing either tonight or tomorrow night - and surprisingly, they were able to fit me in tonight. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile from Monica, and she offered to hang up my coat and get me a drink. My appointment with Vanessa went very well - she introduced herself with a handshake and conversed with me throughout the appointment. I have some skin sensitivities and allergies, and Vanessa discussed these with me prior to my appointment and added them to my record. It even printed that I had an allergy on my receipt - so I'm very pleased to know they take that matter seriously! She really took her time and didn't rush through the service. If I were to describe both employees I dealt with, I'd say: Processional & Friendly. They both deserve a ton of credit for their great customer service - something that seems rare these days. The salon is very clean and the waxing room had soft, relaxing music in the background and a soothing fountain. I thought the price was reasonable and ended up booking a future appointment. I was unable to pick up my phone when they called but when I realized what had happened I called right back from the hospital. They do not answer their phone so I left a message and sent an email explaining what happened, I received no response and they charged me $185.00 for missing the appt. My message stated that I understood I would need to pay a cancellation fee and asked if under the circumstances if they could refund part of the $185.00 Well as I said there was no response. I would have been a very good client for these people as I would have utilized a number of their services on an ongoing basis. I did make a mistake but I think this is a very bad way to do business and a terrible way to take advantage of someone. Sometimes things just happen!

She repeatedly told the tech they were broken and needed acrylics, but the tech ignored her and then accused her of not mentioning the issue. Seriously? The situation got worse when the owner stepped in. Not only did they leave my mom sitting there with no one working on her for 20 minutes, but she was surrounded by all the techs, talking in a different language, making my mom feel extremely uncomfortable. Finally, someone came over to finish her pedicure--but by then, my mom was already distressed and humiliated. Then came the bill. The owner charged us $175 for two pedicures--and swiped my mom's card without even confirming the price or services with us. We were told the gel polish would be $55, but clearly, that wasn't the case. To top it all off, the nails started falling off 24 hours later. This place is not only unprofessional but downright rude and money-hungry. The owner is a condescending liar, and the entire experience was horrendous. Save yourself the stress and DO NOT go here
