I was their patient for more than 4 years. I never checked my bills and paid whatever the secretary asked. Last year I realized that I got charged a few times for X-Ray although my insurance was covered the cost. Then I started checking with insurance about my coverage before going to the dentist office and checking the payment detail with Nahid, the office secretary. She "mistakenly" charged me extra two times, once $90, and second time $75. After that she didn't give me any other time for visit. I called a few times to schedule a time for the dentist and she just tried to get rid of me. Finally after a few days she said that they have plan to not work with my insurance anymore and if I want to stay their patient I have to pay out of packet. But when I looked on my insurance I saw that their office is still active in contract with them. I think they don't like to work with me since I stopped paying extra. read more

I was referred to Dr Ahmadian about 5 years ago after my last cosmetic dentist that was rated #1 in the city had botched an implant placement. I have been a happy customer since the office is clean and the staff are all great. I recently had to have a complicated bridge replaced and a root canal. Dr Ahmadian walked me through all of my options and got my needs addressed for 50% less than my previous dentist. I also did not feel like I was on an assembly line during the 3 visits the procedure took to complete. If you need a good cosmetic dentist with attention to detail where you will not feel like your being taken to the cleaners financially this is a great local practice to choose. read more

This place has to be some sort of joke. 20 minutes in and I started looking around for the inevitable Candid Camera person because I was completely stunned by what was happening. I made an appointment a few weeks ago to get 3 cavities filled. I'd been to another dentist who turned out to not be in my network, so I just needed another dentist to finish what I'd started. I was so very clear in my appointment-making, and I had the other dentist mail my X-rays and estimate page so the new one would know what to do. So I walk in today and they try to clean my teeth. I was like "hey guys put away that toothpaste you're supposed to be filling holes." Then they said they only got X-rays from the old dentist, but they were apparently sub-par and needed to take more. The rude woman at the front desk rolled her eyes so hard I thought they'd pop out when I asked if another round of them would be covered by insurance. And then the doctor proceeds to give my mouth a half-assed examination, where he "found" six additional cavities and the need for a crown. Where are those hidden cameras? Dr. Ahmadian just wants money from my broke ass and I can promise you he won't be getting any of it. I walked in expecting $125 in dental work (which was the estimate from an out-of-network dentist) and walked out being told I needed almost $1000. The best part was when I sat in that uncomfortable chair for 15 minutes waiting for him to grace me with his presence, even though there was not a single other patient in the building. read more

I went to Dr. Ahmadian on a recommendation from someone at work. Because our insurance is so limited and would only cover the chain type dentists, I was hopeful. When first contacting the office to schedule appointments from my Husband and I, Javier was extremely helpful and professional. He is great about following up and reminding you about appointments and is the kind of person you want as the first impression of your business. My first appointment was smooth and I felt comfortable and at ease which is saying a lot because like most people, going to the Dentist creates anxiety for me.Everyone in the office was friendly and welcoming. Dr. Ahmadian's assistant was really nice and knowledgeable and explained everything. After x-rays I was told basically what I already knew from 2 previous dentists (nothing extra which has happened before). I needed 3 crowns and because they were right next to each other, the work was done in one sitting. Was feeling pretty nervous about this but knew I had to get it done. We got started and Dr. Ahmadian gave me shots for numbing. Sometimes this can be painful but I didn't even feel the shot at all! He is an EXPERT at this. During the work Dr. Ahmadian explained what he was doing and would make sure I was ok and there was no pain. I actually felt relaxed which is unbelievable. I've had way too much dental work in my time and have been to a bunch of Dentists. Hands down Dr. Ahmadian is the best Dentist I have been to and would recommend him to anyone. He truly cares about his patients and has pride in his work. And to top it off, the office is super clean, modern and nice. read more

Don't go here!! He did a root canal...and I could feel everything. I was given a lot of shots to numb my mouth and I still had a lot of pain even though my whole face was numb. I also had a friend who went here and got a crown done wrong. It took double the time and was painful. Wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. read more

I'm surprised to see bad reviews about Dr. Ahmadian. I thought he was an excellent dentist, his staff was friendly, and the office is very clean and attractive. I'm afraid of any dental work other than filling a cavity. I had put off getting my wisdom teeth pulled bc I was afraid, had been told by my previous dentist that they needed to come out. Well, one night I chomp down on cold chocolate chips that I had put in my yogurt (don't judge me), and out comes part of one of my teeth!! I called the next day and they were able to take me right away. I needed a crown, which freaked me out, but Dr. Ahmadian truly is very gentle, has alot of patience with fearful patients, and takes the time to explain what he is doing every step of the way. I decided that if anyone was going to pull my teeth, it would be him. At the appointed time I was so scared I thought I was going to be sick all over him and his assistant. And then choke to death on my own vomit. But I digress. I never felt a darn thing with the first one, didn't even know he had pulled it out. The second one I felt those weird tugging sensations, but no pain, and again, he kept me informed of what was happening every step of the way. I have moved out of state, but wish I could have brought him and his staff with me. How much they miss me is another matter..... :) read more

I am glad I went for a second opinion after being told I needed 3 crowns and just recenlty having him put a bridge in my mouth. I told him I did not have those types of funds to complete all 3 crowns. I over heard him tell 3 other patients they needed crowns. Wow is all I can say he must be making a killing on the crowns. On seeking a second opinion I found out that the crown he put in my mouth 1 1/2 year ago was not done properly. They are going to have to redo the crown which means I have to pay extra money to have something corrected that he did incorreclty. So I want to ask He expects me to trust him with 3 more crowns really??? His dental hygene young girl has not patience and is awful when taking xray. read more

I'm sad to see two negative reviews here. I had a totally opposite experience yesterday in an emergency visit to this dentist. My husband is a patient here, but I hate going to the dentist and have put off, and put off, getting my teeth cleaned... to the tune of two years... meanwhile my dental insurance changed and I even picked a new dentist and just never went. Fast forward to yesterday-- eating lunch at my desk, my crown fell off! I freaked out (it didn't hurt, but still, for a dento-phobe this was utter hell.) My "assigned" dental provider under insurance was Castle Dental, and they couldn't get me in till the next day or more (and I called numerous locations.) My husband suggested I call Dr. Ahmadian (whose business is called Smile Gallery, not sure why this isn't listed both ways in Yelp.) Granted, the gal answering the phone sounded curt and not overly friendly, but she was able to get me in within 90 minutes, and they take my insurance (Humana DHMO). Deal! The waiting area is pleasant and I didn't stay there long. The receptionist is actually a nice person, but she has a tiny bit of an accent from her native language, and perhaps she was busy, or just wasn't aware of how she sounded on the phone. The hygienist was super friendly, kind, explained what she was doing and why as she was taking Xrays (I had warned her that I'm a nutcase about dental work and she could tell I was a little panicky at the mere thought someone putting something in my mouth.) Dr. Ahmadian was prompt, professional, and also very gentle. He told me what he was going to do before doing it, and it didn't hurt except when he had to blow air on it, and that was very brief. I told him I would see my brother in law (a dentist in Plano) for any extensive work this weekend, but needed this emergency fix. There was no decay so he could have put the crown on permanently, but I mentioned floss usually got stuck on the edge, so he took another angle of X rays to make sure the crown would properly seal all the way around-- when they revealed a "leak" on one facet, he advised me to have the crown redone. So in my opinion, he's not just trying to make money and suggest unnecessary work, as he knew I would be taking my business to my family member. I appreciated that he takes the conservative approach. Also his prior experience as a maker of things like crowns (and whatever else gets made in a dental lab) made me trust him when it came to judgment about MY crown. Anyway-- I was in and out of the office in 35 minutes, it cost me $32, and I felt so much better about not seeing my brother in law till the weekend... I would definitely continue seeing Dr. Ahmadian as my primary dentist if I wasn't getting my BIL to do it for free. :) read more

Please read reviews on yelp and other websites. I went in for a checkup and was informed there were nine cavities. This didn't sound right, so I decided to read reviews after leaving. I discovered that others experienced the same outcome. I've been to two other places for a second and third opinion and was informed there's not nine, but actually four cavities. Please read reviews, research, and get a second opinion before allowing someone to drill in your teeth and fill. On a positive not, the office was beautiful. read more

It seems odd to rave about a dentist, but my experience with Dr Ahmadian has been excellent. He's been my dentist for over 10 years; he's seen me through countless cleanings, two crowns, and a recent wisdom tooth extraction that tested his patience. Its three roots all went in different directions, so he had to cut the tooth in thirds to get it all out. Throughout the procedure, I felt no pain. He was gentle and professional, explaining the whole time what was going on. When he installed (is that the word?) my crowns, they not only solved my tooth problem, they corrected my bite. When my brother was visiting in Austin over a holiday and chipped a tooth, Dr Ahmadian made time to see him. I am dumbfounded to read the negative experiences expressed in a few reviews. My time with Dr A has consistently been positive. read more

It took a deep cleaning, a couple of fillings and root canals, but he got my teeth back into shape. I've been going here, completely anxiety free every six months for almost ten years now. Ever since I was a child, I've been afraid of dentists. To a certain degree I still am. But Dr. Ahmadian has changed that drastically. 10+ years ago I was told that I needed to get a new filling on my top left molar. I didn't do it. Then 5 years years ago I was told that I needed a crown on that same tooth, otherwise it might turn into a root canal. Because of my fear I didn't do it. About a year ago I started getting a funky smell in my mouth, so I figured it was about time I took care of it. I heard great things about Dr. Ahmadian and when I went in he confirmed what I expected - root canal. D'oh. But here's the reason I gave him a 5-star rating: When I started my root canal treatment I was shaking so hard that my legs were literally bouncing up and down. I had to put my hands in my pocket just to keep my upper half from affecting the doctor. A few minutes into it I realized that Dr. Ahmadian was going to take care of me. He was gentle as a dentist can be and constantly checked in with me. His reputation was absolutely warranted. The man knows how to calm you down. At my next appointment to finish the root canal, I was confident and ready for the doc to do his thing. Of course a root canal isn't exactly a walk in the park, but Dr. Ahmadian dispelled all the horror stories I've heard about this procedure. I eventually got a crown placed and have been chomping on my regular food items ever since. I even came back to get another crown on the other side of my mouth (before that turned into root canal too). Beyond Dr. Ahmadian, his assistants are kind and ready to take care of whatever you need. In fact, on my first root canal appointment one of the assistants offered me a blanket. Smile Gallery knows how to treat patients and I hope anyone reading his Yelp reviews will reconsider the low ratings. If you truly look at their complaints it's pretty obvious that they're a bit mental. The low ratings appear to be rare situations that sound more like the patient was merely impatient, difficult, and perhaps even belligerent. Whereas if you notice what most of these 5-star ratings are referencing: Dr. Ahmadian's calm demeanor as well as his wonderful staff. To end on a good note, I want to also add the office is new, clean, modern, and decorated very nicely. I later found out that Dr. Ahmadian not only decorated the office himself, but also helped in the design and layout. Wow. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!! so he has been my doctor for the past couple of years and i had full faith in him, until i started having pain on one of tooth which he did root canal and crown of course, i went back to him, he sounded very confident that what he did was perfect and it is NORMAL for dentists to miss few canals during the procedure?! really?! I've had another root canal and crown approximately 10 years ago, which is still rock solid, so anyway he referred me to Endodontics , which the doctor had to pull my crown off clean the infection and all that cost me another $640 because my insurance wasn't covering it. couple weeks later, i felt my other crown is loos, but this time i acted smart, i didn't go back to him , because if i did, he would wanna do extra stuff on my teeth which i knew it would cost me a fortune. so, i finally changed my doctor but i'm out close to $1000, because of his sloppy work.. i had to redo 2 crowns. another interesting thing i found, he is not paying business tax, i found out from one of his staff, that he doesn't have a payroll, which usually reports the taxes, he instead writes a check from his personal check book to pay his staff.. CLASSIC!!! he is going to get his ass in trouble. do yourself a favor and find another doctor!!! Peace!! read more

I went here for a cleaning last year because my old dentist retired and Dr Ahmadian was in my insurance network and he was close to where I live. The office is really nice with plenty of sitting areas. The dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth was horrible. She did not seem to know what she was doing and she did not do a thorough job. Let me just say I take very good care of my teeth. I get my teeth cleaned 2x year, floss every day, brush 2 times a day, and rinse with a fluoride mouthwash. So when this "dental hygienist" told me I needed a "deep cleaning" and it would only cost $400, that immediately raised a red flag. After the cleaning, Dr Ahmadian comes in and confirms that after looking at my xrays that I do need a deep cleaning in all 4 quadrants. He then tells me my wisdom tooth needs to be pulled, I need 2 crowns, and I have a cavity. He gives me an estimate on how much everything would cost to fix this and I am thinking REALLY. My last dental cleaning 6 months ago was fine with no cavities and no work needed and now I am being told I need all this work done. I went home and immediately changed my primary dentist with my insurance to another dentist. My following dental cleaning 6 months later went great and my new dentist told me my teeth were fine. I should have done this before I switched to Dr Ahmadian but I checked the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and found out Dr Ahmadian has had disciplinary actions against him. read more

From cleaning to fillings and crowns, this is the most pain-free dentist experience I could imagine. Dr Ahmadian's staff is very friendly, considerate, professional and accommodating. My husband and I had excellent experiences with Dr. Ahmadian's office. He and his staff were professional and courteous, and the treatments we received (a crown, at least one filling, preventive cleanings and exams) were performed gently and effectively. The only reasons I have for not giving Dr. Ahmedian's office a 5-star rating are: difficulty getting appointments for routine exams and cleanings; charging separately for crown build-up, post, and core was not the most cost effective way to bill my insurance company; crown required 2 visits (some dentists can do a crown in 1 visit); office is far from my home. If it were easier to get to see him, we'd definitely still be patients. read more

He does all the teeth cleaning himself, rather than delegate to a staff, which is great because I have sensitive teeth. And he gives you tips to be proactive about dental health. I am so glad that I found Dr. Ahmadian. A friend told me about him when I was complaining about my last dentist. I needed 2 crowns and decided to give him a try. The crowns were less than a $1000 total and he did beautiful and careful work. My 2 kids and I have been going for a year now. The office staff is so nice. Just yesterday, the day after Christmas, I had an emergency dental need and Dr. Ahmadian came in even though the office is closed till January 2. How great is that! STAY AWAY!!! I went to Dr. Ahmad Ahmadian because he was covered by my insurance provider - huge mistake!! I have gotten a handful of fillings in my life, including two from 15 years ago and I have never had problems with any of them. The filling I got at Ahmadian's office, however, recently fell out after only 10 months! When I called, they told me that they wouldn't replace it without 2 new appointments at full cost (though I'm not sure I would go back even if it was free). At my previous appointment, Dr. Ahmadian was very rude and impatient. To my surprise, he did my cleaning, instead of one of his assistants, but soon after he started, I had to ask him to stop because it was too painful. The fact that he couldn't do a simple cleaning didn't inspire much confidence and even though I asked him to not do it, I was charged for it anyway. I have always been lucky in having great dentists before this experience - unfortunately I ended up with one of the worst in town. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more
