Never had smashburger before. Decent burger, but kind of lacking for the price. I got the bacon smash single. Definitely recommend the double. Also got a large smash fry. Pretty good flavor. I'd get them again. They have one employee making milkshakes and helping customers. This meant she couldn't give me complete attention. This is a miss on the company, not the clerk, who still did great. They went with some sort of fast food- industrial chic design. Not terrible but I wish industrial chic would go away. read more

Good place for a good burger in Dayton, Ohio Founded in 2007 in Colorado, this franchise now has 335 locations worldwide. There are 5 locations in Ohio and 3 locations in Dayton. This is one of those locations. It is one of the many restaurants lining Miller lane and is located on the East side of a building north of York Commons Blvd. There is plenty of parking for the building which houses other businesses. There is an entrance on the south and east sides of the store with occupies a corner unit. You order at the counter from the menu which has an assortment of Burgers, Wings, Salads, Fries, and sides. I ordered a classic Smashburger and a tea. The staff was friendly and professional. The prices were very reasonable (about $10 for the meal). The restaurant was fairly clean with a few unclean tables. You are given a number to display at your table and they bring your food out when it is ready. The seating area inside is a mix of booths and tables. The burger came out quickly on a rectangular wire basket with a paper liner. Others in my group ordered onion rings. The burger was very good and the onion rings were excellent. I would recommend this to my fellow travelers in the area looking for a good burger and onion rings at a nice place for a reasonable price. Enjoy. read more

As much as I travel for work, I pass a Smashburger often and have never tried it however today I wanted to try something different even though Im not a huge burger person. Im not too familiar with the setup so I walked in and asked could I sit, the young said sure. Unbeknownst to me, you have to order first and then they bring the food to you. So I was a little irritated at that but totally my fault for assuming. My food came out rather quickly & all seemed fresh. I ordered a single patty bbq burger that came with bacon, cheese and crispy fries plus a side of haystack onion rings. All very delicious and I gobbled it right up. Only thing was, the music was very loud when I first arrived and as much as I love Nirvana, it was loud... thankfully it was lowered after a few minutes. I was so surprised by this little burger joint! The ingredients were all fresh, crisp and delicious. The burgers were delicious and the fries crispy and fresh! We were just driving through, we live a couple hours north of Dayton. Genuinely surprised. Definitely better than five guys. Would absolutely recommend this place! Would give it a negative review if I could... If you've checked on my other reviews they are typically three stars to five stars... So that should tell you something. I really wish the owner of this establishment would contact me on Yelp because he should be embarrassed at the business that he owns. First of all the place is not kept very clean. But my big issue is that I have stopped in twice late in the evening while they were still open... Including this evening I came in at 9:12 PM and they close at 10 PM simply to take a carry out order. Their front door said they were open till 10 PM, and the neon sign out front was lit with the "open" flight on. Call me crazy but I thought they were open. Smash Burger, a definate better burger is destroyed by the environment of uncleaned tables coated with grease and crumbs from prior customers. The seats are ripped and torn and crumbs and grease coat these as well. Notably the drywall chipped away and crumbling in every booth at the entry. I did not look in light fixtures for insects however with the condition of everything else classifies this as a dump without looking further. Then, to top it off, I get asked for money from homeless that sit at exits in their outdoor tables. These restaurants along miller lane want the full city upgrade package for beautification along miller lane when they don't even have sidewalks or bike paths to schools within one mile of this area. The walk in - smashburger is in an outdoor shopping center along side Miller lane. Parking can be tough during busy hours because it shares parking with lots of other retailers and restaurants. Walking in music is playing and I'm greeted by the girl at the register. She seems in a hurry to get me rung up and out of her hair. The place is next to empty even though it's 12:30. Odd The menu/drinks. They have the standard soda machine (help yourself) a few generic beers in bottles, nothing to get excited about. The menu is small and only located on the wall next to the registers. It has a confusing layout and no pictures. The Girl taking my order was not interested in recommending anything. Grub time - I ordered the mushroom and Swiss cheese burger (trying new things) and smash Tater tots. The tater tots were very basic with a tiny bit of seasoning on them (seriously..?) the burger was pretty good tasting but was pouring greese and was about the size of regular McDonald's hamburger. I ordered the bigger burger thinking it was gonna be good size, it was Entirely to small! The verdict- small burgers, tastless tots, no character, and staff that wants to get you in and out as quick as possible. My meal was 13.00! There are much better shops around. read more

Let me start by saying, had I not gone inside and went through a drive through or door dashed it I would've given this place five stars. The place inside just feels dirty. The tables just looked wiped off instead of cleaned. The furniture is dated and seen better days. There's only one menu off to the side of the register. If there's more than one person ordering the others can't see it. The large station next to the soda machine was pretty much empty. But the straws were packed in there. I'd say less than half of the tables had napkins on them and the ones that did had like two or looked used. My ketchup bottle had less than one serving in it. read more

Very good burger but very greasy. Flavor was there for sure so I'll take the grease. My husband got the brisket and loved it. The Smash fries were amazing, very rarely do I find higher end food in a smaller venue, the fries In them selves were enough for the quick stop. Delicious! The one thing I'm not so pleased with is the lady at the register. Mundane, no smile, no Hi how ya'll doing, no much of anything but I don't want to be here demeanor but she got my order right. I went this evening for dinner and ordered the classic DoubleSmash Burger with fries. The cashier was relatively friendly, just seemed to be rushing through to get through the line. I waited around 20 minutes for my food, which for a place like this, is kind of long. The burger was pretty big for the price! It had a good quality taste to it. The bun was light and fluffy with a gracious amount of toppings on the burger. The fries weren't anything special, just your typical, crappy fast food fries. Smashburger is my favorite place for a quick burger! I also enjoy their rosemary smash fries. For some really really REALLY strange reason, I ordered a salad the other day when I came in here. What....? A salad?!?! This is probably the 5th time or so in my life I've ordered a salad as an entrée. So this Baja Cobb salad is AWESOME. Thick cut bacon pieces, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños... chipotle dressing... oh YES, it hit the spot. Did I mention the thick cut bacon pieces?! Mmmm. Sorry. I don't eat salads to make healthy choices. Service was rather dull. Staff members don't seem happy about working. That's okay, Smashburger is a glamorous fast food place. And please fix your lemons. Unchilled lemons that sit out for hours upon end are my secret pet peeve for sandwich shops and the like. But I love your salad. read more

Had to repeat my order twice because the girl at the register was busy talkin to a coworker instead of paying attention and it still ended up wrong, then the manager came out to give me a refund since I was overcharged for the wrong stuff... didn't even acknowledge me. I placed an order online for pick up, maybe that was where I made a mistake. The order was simple, one pub burger, one buckeye burger and one classic smash add ranch and sub pepper jack cheese. The order was ready on time, the employee was friendly. When I got home however we found that the completely messed up the order. The ranch and pepper jack was on the buckeye burger and not the classic, the pickles for the classic were on the buckeye and there were raw onions on the buckeye instead of haystack onions. As a huge burger fan and this being my first time. I'd say the service was pretty great the staff was really cool and my food was fresh for a cook to order burger joint. My pros. Good service, fresh food. My only con is that the burger wasn't as seasoned as I would have expected. Pretty bland because it was pretty unseasoned, but the sides were really tasty and had a good kick for battered pickles. Would definitely go again though well worth the try. read more
