Smashburger still continues to deliver. I recently ordered a Chili Cheese Big Dog, Smash Tots along with a Double All-American Smash burger. Everything was packed carefully in a sealed paper bag. The Chili Cheese Big Dog is a thick hot dog placed between what a believe is sour dough bread lightly toasted. It is a bit messy but it's very good and well worth the effort. The Smash Tots were fried really good and not greasy at all. I ate the Double All-American Smash burger later but it was good as well. Smashburger does allow you to customize your burgers and I liked that. I removed red onions and added extra pickles! Overall, really great experience. Great food, with a variety of options, including a Black Bean Smash burger for the vegan crowd. Highly recommend! read more

We stopped here for a quick bite while in town on a little get away, was rather late... about an hour before closing time. Everyone was still very pleasant to deal with. Place was clean and just a chill kind of upscale fast food place. The food.... LEGIT! Our burgers you could tell were prepared by people that cared about the quality of work they put out to their customers. They were just tossed together & squished like most places. The flavors were excellent. Meat you could tell wasn't frozen cheap patties and the toppings were crisp & flavorful. Tots & fries were on point as well! I would gladly go back! A+ Check it out! read more

Tried their $4.99 deluxe chicken sandwich and...what the hell? It's not even a chicken breast it's a ground, smashed chicken patty. Freaking gross Id rather pay $8 for something that resembles edible meat. It's SMALL so two bites and my little mouth had half of this "sandwich" down but not without cringing. This is a damn shame because I used to love their mushroom Swiss burger but I've lost all faith in this chain, I actually felt guilty for making my kids eat one of these sandwiches too we all thought it looked so good in the ad but we were so WRONG. Go to McDonald's seriously way better quality and taste. read more

First of all, Nicole was very friendly and helpful. She has a great spirit. My wife likes Smashburger , I'm not a big burger person but I did think about getting a black bean burger but just decided to split the meal with my wife. The fries remind me of the old shoestring fries from way back. The double classic burger was good but too greasy for me. I'm not the target customer so I can see where it would be a favorite if the burger crowd. Fries and burger cost $12.98. That is very reasonable considering some places charge $15 + and the burger is not better. Place was clean read more

After a rainy day hike around Cox, I needed some food. Stopped in for a quick burger. Just got the sandwich without any extras. After you order and pay, they give you a number and the food is brought to your table. I got mine within minutes with toppings I selected. They also checked on me and were friendly. I will be back. The place was very clean. They now have a small selection of beers available too, by the way. read more

It was okay. Reasonable priced and service was good. bathroom was clean but the fixtures looked like they were falling apart. Had a double All American and it tasted like (a hamburger). It's good for a fast lunch. read more

Thought I would give this place another try. It has been years since I have stopped at Smashburger.. I had the barbecue bacon cheeseburger, double and fries. It was OK. I would have to say the fries were the best part of the meal. The burger was greasy which in some cases I prefer but there's something in the taste of this companies food that doesn't appeal to me. I'm more of a five guys when it comes to my burgers. I would say smash burgers, flavor and quality of food is more in line with something that you would find at good time Charlie's. Not horrible, but not something I would ever go out of my way to have. read more

We had a great experience here. The service was great, the inside was really clean, the food was delicious, and all for a reasonable price. Plenty of options and sizes to pick from. The tots smash style are amazing the olive oil with rosemary just takes them to another level. The burgers were very good. I got the Swiss mushroom burger and my husband got the Colorado style which was really good and a kick of spice. Parking was fine but it is a shared lot with several businesses and the restaurant is easy to find. Definitely a must try read more

Could get better servers, gave me my shake but completely ignored my actual order. I sat for around 20min before getting tired of waiting. They also ended up giving me the wrong double after my wait, the food was good but the service just didn't click well enough with me. read more

The guy at the counter was James. He did not greet us, nor did he tell us that we had to take a number to our seats. He mumbled a few things, and I was able to understand the amount being charged. The ambiance was what I call Modern Grease (not Greece). Empty trays on the tables, fries on the floor, dirty surfaces and glass. James brought us the food, but was neither pleasant nor polite. You need to hire a new crew. I liked this place 5 years ago, but not anymore. read more

I love coming in for a mushroom Swiss burger with a side of smash fries. The burger is always well seasoned and topped with a heap of mushrooms and I love how flavorful the fries are. The fries were nice and crispy with a hint of rosemary and went perfectly with a Diet Coke. Smashburger - a sandwich and french fries - Burgers Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

Ordered: Colorado grilled chicken sandwich, smash tots, and haystack onions. This was my first experience with a smashburger, and I don't anticipate rushing to go again anytime soon. The onion strings were only half full. I'm not sure if that's how they always are, if they had run out of smaller sizes, I'm just not sure with this being my first experience. But visually, it definitely looked like a problem. As far as the chicken sandwich, it was just absolutely disgusting. There was more cheese on it than anything. I felt like I was eating a cheese sandwich with 20 slices of cheese on it. I actually had to scrape some of the cheese off in order to even be able to eat it. You can also see from the photos, that the chicken breast, is laughable. It was so thin, had no flavor, and this was just an incredibly disappointing experience overall! read more

I got sucked in by the photo of the scorchin' hot chicken sandwich in the window. Service was fine; we sat on the patio, which was clean and lovely; I like that they bring your food to your table. But I'm only writing this review because of that scorchin' hot chicken sandwich. It was fantastic. And actually spicy. Not Popeye's spicy (which I suspect is all in the sauce) or Chick-fil-a spicy (which is unmemorable), but enough baked in, flavorable heat to make my lips tingle, running the line of almost too much. Now heat is relative, so to be clear, if I'm offered a 1-5 heat choice I just recently started ordering 4 instead of 3. And this sandwich was anything but disappointing. Oh yeah, tots, brussel sprouts, sweet potato fries - always consistent. I love that they offer a side vegetable, even if the healthfullness of the brussel sprouts, drenched in cooking oil, is questionable. Still they are green and yummy. read more

Umm this was just bad. For $12-13 for a single, this was not good. This burger couldn't have been more than 2oz for a single and was probably 3" in diameter. It wouldn't touch the edges of the bun. Which left the sandwich being 90% bun and 10% substance. I just took the little patty off and ate it on its own with the ketchup on the table. The burger was overcooked to the point where it was dry. The onion on the burger was old and the smell was so pungent, it smell like sweaty.... nvm. A smell that after 3 washes with the 2 differnt bathroom soaps and dish soap at home, i can still smell it 3 hrs later. There was so little smash sauce, it absorbed into the top bun and I couldn't taste it. This was when I decided to go bunless. I got smash tots on the side and the flavor was good from the truffle oil garlic but they were undercooked and not crunchy really at all. They could have stood to be in the fryer another 2 min to get them crunchy and golden but they were too bad the way they were. Today wasn't a good day for smashburger. It was so bad I had to go home and make myself food. Maybe tomorrow will be better. But today you lost. Steak n shake beat you. Hell, the McDouble beat you. read more

This evening, my husband and I visited the location near the Dayton Mall. The burgers and fries were hot and tasty but what made us extra happy is the team! They were each very friendly and professional, unlike some of the Smash employees we've encountered in the past. We hope these smiling faces will be around for a while. Absolutely great attitudes! read more

It was hard to order food and know if this is a clean place and your food is safe when the host/girl delivering food was sucking on a sucker the whole time. We honestly never have good service here, but it was way worse than usual on our last visit. We waited well over 35 minutes to get our food. They initially lost our online order, then magically found it again after we had already arrived to pick up our pre-ordered food. We only had 3 things on the ticket, 2 Double Classics & a large fry. One was to be without pickles & cheese. Not rocket science. They didn't make either sandwich correctly, and it took them 3 attempts to finally give us a correct order at which point we'd been waiting 40 minutes for 2 burgers. We absolutely WILL NOT be revisiting this location. read more

Yes! They've been officially resurrected as one of our fave fast casual restaurants. Before we went in for lunch yesterday, my husband and I both hoped it was better than our last visit and the visit before that. The problem was not the food but with unfriendly, stone-faced staff. Today, my Smashburger was great (always the Spicy Baja for me), and the service was very good. I believe it was a manager or supervisor who brought our meal to the table. Wish we knew his name as he was polite and seemed genuinely concerned about the well-being of his customers. read more

If I could sum up my experience here in one word it would be: Underwhelmed. I gave it three stars because the store was clean and the employees were nice, those things go a long way with me. When it came to food it was kind of blah. I ordered the buckeye burger. Burger patty topped with fried peppers, onion, tomato, cheese, and mayo. I expected this thing to be bursting with flavor but it was exactly the opposite! It was cooked well and everything was fresh, it just didn't find that sweet spot. I ordered the smash tots which cost more than tater tots that they sell because they are tossed in olive oil, rosemary and garlic. Sounds delicious, right? Again, these missed the mark. I had to douse them in ketchup to get a flavor on them and I love tots! The amount you get is pitiful, it's like someone tosses a handful on your basket. My boyfriend ordered the triple double and he said it was fine but he wasn't exactly raving about it. He ended up eating most of my tots since I was unimpressed anyway so he got a good serving of them between both of our orders. I didn't hate it, but I will be fine if we don't go back for awhile read more

Left a shake out of my DoorDash order - their solution was for me to drive there to pick it up. Nah.

The salads were tiny, they didn't get the order right and the clerk smelled like marijuana. Do go to this location.

Good food however the service at this location was poor. Otherwise a good dining experience.

I have loved this place from the moment it opened. I know they are well known for their burgers, but honestly, it should be for their classic smashed chicken and seasoned fries or veggies...they are unbelievable. Smashburger also offers beer, outdoor seating and delicious milkshakes. This can be a very busy location and sometimes hard to get in but it's worth the wait. The only suggestion I could give, would be to expand the size of the building. read more

Smashburger - I forgot to take a pic of the before! Hahaha - Burgers Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

So, I will never be going back to Smash Burger due to their incompetence to handling delivery issues, Last night, we ordered $40.00 worth of food to get delivered to our house. The order was placed on Smash burgers website, not doordash. So when our food was never delivered, and the address the driver went to, was not even in my neighborhood, we called smashburger to handle the issue. It turns out, smashburger delivers through a third party of whoever can pick it up and last night it was doordash. so last night the driver stole my food and did not deliver it. We were alerted that it was delivered to a different location at 6:50. At 7:00 we called and spoke to two different employees, before being handed off to Mark the manager. Instead of assisting me with my issue, he yelled at me on the phone, cutting me off rudely and saying that doordash does this all the time, we're lying about not getting food our food (saying we're just trying to get free food), and that he will not be refunding us the $40.00 of our money. Mark has officially ruined smashburger for me and my family. I wish I could give this restaurant 0 stars. read more

A real disappointment today. I really wanted a good burger and that is what I usually get at Smashburger. Today was terrible. The bun was completely dried out and stale. The burger was overcooked and almost unrecognizable ! The fries were also over cooked. The shake was good but really small. They used to make them in a tall stainless cup and give you the whole cup which always equaled two glasses full. I know its almost impossible to find good help now but come on. read more

Me and my husband ate here today. We had eaten at a few locations in the past and it used to be real good so we decided to give it another chance. I was disappointed to find out their smashfries no longer have the rosemary seasoning or truffle oil on them anymore. They are just plain fries. After I ordered my burger my husband ordered a burger and then the employee said to him "it's national hamburger day you get your burger for $5.00." which we said 'Great! thank you!' Then my husband said 'Can we get a large fry we'll split them.' What we ended up getting was fries that took up half of his plate with his burger. I assumed we'd get a separate plate of fries and a larger amount. I got the BBQ bacon burger. My bacon seemed a bit burned. The burger was eh. Okay. We looked at the receipt and noticed HIS burger was for $5.00 and mine was for full price? So it wasn't $5.00 for each burger ordered? Probably should have mentioned that. I miss when you could get onion haystacks on the burger. Guess they got rid of those too. Mine came with one single onion ring on it. read more

I won't eat here again. Not Smashburger in general but this location specifically. Every single time I go it is a horrible experience. They have tried to make it better and have fixed some aspects of my issues, but not all. This location and I always get the same grumpy cashier who zoned out when I talk, can not get an order right. I ask for a cheese burger, ketchup and tomato only. Not hard? What do I get? I got served a bun-less burger with meat and everything on it but what I asked for. Any time I ask for any burger, regular or bacon, I want cheese so I order it as a cheeseburger, and I get a hamburger. I don't know what's so hard about hitting the button that says cheese. She is always rude/ standoffish towards me. One time my food took 30 minutes from order time to when it came out. My partner got his food 15 minutes before me. Finished and I'm like where is my food? It wasn't even made right. Now, there were maybe 5 other people there. Not busy at all. Mostly empty. And they couldn't even bring me food, much-less the right food. I would get faster service at a sit down fancy restaurant. They would be kinder too. My first trips I thought maybe she's had a bad day/ she's new. Now its been half a year. She should know how to ring up a gosh darn meal and get it right. I don't have time to go back up and talk to a manager about her/ poor food, or anything. I just want a quick bite with my partner before work and we have maybe 30 minutes. So. I don't know what to make of this location. They have gone downhill. It's only gotten worse. At first it was littler stuff. Now my smash fries oil is making my burger soggy. 0/10 would not return to this very specific location. If I do I'm going to ask that I get a different cashier, as she always messes up my order. Yes it's gonna tick her off, and maybe it will be a wake up call. read more

Double the price of a fast-food burger, a bit longer of a wait, but exponentially better. They start with a soft-flavorful bun rather than a flavorless "bleached enriched flour" Bimbo bun; the meat tastes fresh-not-frozen, and feels like it was freshly-ground; toppings are still cool and the cheeses are oh-so-gooey. Overall, I love this burger. Consistent, fresh, and good toppings options. I really like the fry options - several different types. I had the sweet potato, and I'm not so sure they worked very well with the herb-and-oil dressing they toss it with. I'd go with the 'normal' fries next time. I love sweet potato fries, but it seemed the natural sweetness from the fry competed with the herbs on top - and lost. It tasted confusing, but maybe some people like it. A big bonus is the bucket of beer. Counter-service casual burger joints where I can grab a cold one? Nice. I'd expect fountain drinks and shakes, but a bottle of beer is a nice option after a long, hot day. A good Smashburger and beer feels like I'm attending a picnic - but without the annoying relatives, ankle biters, and ants. read more

Ordered a couple burgers and fries for eating in. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. My burger was wrong (ordered the double BBQ bacon burger, got a double cheeseburger) but was too hungry to mention it or complain. The burger was just okay. We also ordered Smashfries and got just regular fries. Adding insult to injury, their soda machine tasted weird, like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. read more

The obvious comparison is to 5 Guys Burgers. In my opinion, Smashburger is way better. Smashburger had alot more options & variety on the menu. And it all looks so good! Even the kids menu hotdog was a great hotdog. Yes, I confess I took a bite of my kids hotdog, and it was delicious. Hey, I paid for it, didn't I? My favorite thing though... Beer! And today, they had Sam Adams Octoberfest. That right there is what takes you from 4 stars to 5 stars. The only thing better about 5 Guys is the fries. read more

I came here since we received a bogo coupon. The burgers were okay, nothing too spectacular. I actually would prefer five guys burgers and fries over this place. I think the burgers are a little overpriced here and I would probably only come here again if we had a bogo coupon. The place itself is not the cleanest. There was a lot of trash on the tables and they were not being wiped down when we visited. read more
