I haven't been here in a couple years and thought I'd give it another try. I got the classic burger which was very good. I also got an order of the rosemary fries which were not so good. The fries should've been cooked until they were crispy/golden brown so when they put the rosemary oil on them, they wouldn't get soggy. Ate about 1/3 of those. The biggest frustration point of my visit was the cashier. I think her name was Danyelle. She didn't seem to be very happy today, she chastised me for not taking the number to the table. I said I didn't get a number. She said I gave you one. And then told me I left it at the counter, sat my food down and walked away. I was the only customer in the place who didn't have any food already so it wasn't too hard to figure out. I felt like leaving at that point but I had already paid. I noticed my food sitting on the counter for a couple minutes before she delivered it to me because she was talking on her cell phone. Most unfriendly staff I've ever encountered. the man running the cashier clearly hates his life and job. Didn't say hi or you're welcome or anything. Another person asked him for ketchup and he said "ketchup should be in your bag." and didn't move to get anymore for the man. He loudly said "I'm trying to get out of here at 2 so I don't care" and when a customer asked if something came with fries he said "menu is right next to you." extremely rude. This Smashburger is a burger joint with both upbeat ambiance and lively taste! I didn't know what to expect, being a picky burger fanatic, but this place absolutely knocked me down impressed! We ordered the bacon cheddar BBQ burger, fried pickles, fried peppers, smash fries (rosemary garlicky goodness) and a children's grilled cheese plus a dark stout for my Husband and a Nutterbutter milkshake. The highest quality ingredients stole the limelight starting with tender juicy beef that rivaled the finest waygu burgers I've had overseas, along side crisp refreshing garnish combining well balanced flavor profiles that mingled just right. Their Rosemary fries were nothing short of memorable, rich and wafting of garlic and real rosemary along with their fried pickles and fried peppers, crisp, refreshingly salty, and cool all at once when you dip them in the ranch on the side. The children's grilled cheese was as good as my burger, which shocked me! It was delicious and generously loaded with cheese. The atmosphere reflected their energetic yet simplistic menu, as did their competent staff. On top of this, their prices accurately reflected the quality received, and they offer a military discount. We were so very impressed we are going back tonight. The most memorable thing by far was their extraordinary nutter butter milkshake. Quite arguably one of the best milkshakes I have ever enjoyed. It came in a classic glass milkshake cup along with it's metal blending cup, as any good milkshake should! It wasn't too thin or too thick, it was just right with large cookie pieces for me to enjoy. I'm not sure if it's real, but the cashier might be faking a silly accent. If she is, she should lose it. Table felt like a rocking horse with a bad leg. We don't like being bothered MULTIPLE times asking if we wanted our baskets removed from the table. Later, we were chatting and again, were interrupted by a girl wanting the last basket we had moved to the back of the table. RUDE! I really like Smashburger so my review today is after a very different experience than usual. I was the only person in line and my meal of 2 burgers and fries took 15 mins. Way too long for fast casual. The cashier told me about 5 mins after ordering they had no black bean burgers, at 6PM, you would think dinner rush time, but they would cook a frozen one but it'd take awhile. I reluctantly changed my order. Continued to wait over 10 mins, seeing in the kitchen at the 10+ employees clearly uninterested in filling my order. The cashier kept telling them she needed my order and finally got the burgers. Then argues for 2 mins for fries. I thought ok, well at least I'll get them fresh. Nope. Cold and by far the worst I've had. Extremely annoyed and disappointed. read more

Although the food at Smashburger can be delicious, the customer service at this particular location rates a 1-star today. In an attempt to order burgers and fries to go for our family of four, our family had to return to the restaurant FOUR times to have our sandwiches remade. My daughter doesn't eat tomatoes and my husband doesn't eat mayo. Holding both ingredients should not be an issue. People make mistakes; when one does in a customer service atmosphere, one might want to promptly correct the mistake rather than standing around the counter laughing, joking and actively turning a back to a customer who has returned to ask for a corrected order. In the end, we finally did end up with the correct sandwiches and bagfuls of food no one actually ordered. However, it's preferable to receive what you ordered and not have to wonder what condition the food you receive the fourth time will be in. We will visit other locations of this chain, but this one is definitely off our list. read more

Hadn't been to a Smashburger in years and today was probably my most interesting time being here. The manager and one of the kitchen employees were super sweet about a mixup with our order (happens, and they were surprisingly busy). I'd give another 1/2 star for food taste, but I am a bit hesitant. I hope their kitchen is cleaner than the front of the house. Either the ice machine wasn't working tonight (or couldn't keep up) so one of the young employees decides to (1) crush some bagged ice by throwing it onto the floor (so far so good), (2) stand on a chair to dump into the top of the ice machine (again...seems reasonable), (3) proceed to use the outside of the bag of ice -- that had just obviously had been on the floor -- to push the ice down into the machine. When I mentioned to him that this might not be the cleanest way to do this...he told me that he, "...would keep my advice in consideration". We are always on the lookout for a good burger restaurant...I love burgers, and I really love good burgers! What I don't love is when a burger is advertised one way and delivered another. This is the primary reason I refuse to eat at a couple of the national chains. Smashburger is different. Sure, they are a chain, but they have one thing that they do well, and that is burgers. The burgers are all flavorful. The menu is one that allows you to pretty much make your own burger, and I find that refreshing. Too often you are limited to exactly what is on the menu. Not so here. I ordered the mushroom and swiss burger, and it came as advertised. The portion size was exactly what was needed and filled me up without over stuffing me. Their fries are amazing! Hot, and flavored with olive oil and rosemary. Simply amazing, in my opinion. To top it off, they serve beer. And not just any beer, but the right beer. I had the stout, which in my opinion, is about the best pairing you can have with good beef that is meant to be savored. Price? Well, you do get what you pay for. This is not the most expensive place, but not the cheapest. You will get a good burger that reflects the price. My only complaint, and it was likely because we stopped by just after a rush, was that the floors were a bit dirty. But they did clean it up while I was there. I visited this place earlier this week. First impression walking in is good. Cool setup, short menu, clean. We order and a few minutes later for food is out. I got the buckeye burger with smash fires. My sister ordered the fried pickles. The burger was great. I really didn't taste the fired yellow peppers or fried onions that much. The only thing I really tasted was the butter on the burger and in the bun. But it was still good. The fries were very good, but I like fires with herbs on it. Best of all was the fried pickles. Not too much dough and the pickles still firm. You can actually taste the pickles. With ranch, yum!!!! Overall impression is I would return, try to eat less. This once rising star has fallen from the sky. The service is horrendously slow. On our visit, the "shift supervisor" leaned on the counter while 15 "guests" waited in line. Once we hit 20 people waiting, he started taking orders. The one cashier was slower than Christmas and several customers left due to not wanting to wait all day. Our order was incorrect, simply missing a french fry. Speaking of the fries, I think they get them at Kroger and then dump rosemary on it, they're pretty lame. I love a good burger and have been wanting to try Smashburger for quite some time now, finally decided to stop in last and give them a go. I will say up front that as with many other reviews here my comparison / contrast was with Five Guys as they seem to be in the same market. First of all I was impressed with selection of pre-designed burgers, it's nice that they've compiled a list of toppings that go well together. Also nice that they offer more choices than just burgers such as chicken, hot dogs, etc. Another big plus for me here was that they give you a number that you take to your table and the food is delivered to you, no loitering around the counter waiting for a number to be called, I liked this! Another plus is that when you're finished they bus the tables for you, nice service! I opted for the buckeye burger complete with a mound of onion straws and fried banana pepper rings, my wife built her own burger with avocado, they offer a very wide selection of toppings to choose from, a big plus over five guys here! The only complaint here was that the avocado on my wife's burger was very small, almost nonexistent really. The smashfries were fantastic, great flavor and just enough without a crazy portion like five guys which is way way too much for any one person in my opinion. The overall flavor of the burger was ok, in my opinion five guys wins in the category. It wasn't bad mind you, just not over the top good. Overall we really enjoyed Smashburger and will return again, great service and wide variety really make them a great place. read more

I have those days when I just want to eat grilled, iron-rich beef, so I opted to visit Smashburger, a place that sounded very interesting and delicious to me. The place is set-up so that people order first and then find seating or vice versa. Their attractive wall menu has large, bold lettering, so anyone who has trouble seeing (or squinting at) small letters while dining out won't have that issue here. I ordered the Spinach, Feta and Goat Cheese Burger at the counter and found a seat. Within 10 minutes, I receive my burger open face up topped with sprinkled feta and goat cheese, a thick tomato slice, circle sliced onions, and leafy spinach. The burger itself sizzled with oil, but it's not too hot that I can't take a big bite. Mm... I enjoyed taking big bites from this tender, richly cooked burger topped with tangy cheeses and spicy onions. I think this is one of the best burgers I have eaten in a while, and I like how they're located near a busy mall and boutique shops. Their server or busser (I'm not sure) was also very kind and helpful. This restaurant has convenient options. Smashburger makes it easy to order, dine in, or carry-out. On my first trip to Smashburger, I ordered the Buckeye Burger and it was delicious. It had fried pepper rings and fried onions on an egg bun. The pepper rings added just the right amount of spice to the burger. Also, having the onions and peppers fried added that crunch to the burger that I have come to love (like chips and a sandwich). They offer rosemary garlic french fries which I would recommend. There was a perfect balance between garlic and rosemary, easily complementing one another. One note of caution, they are greasy so have plenty of napkins on hand. Overall I would say that their food seems to offer a perfect balance for the combination of flavors that they offer. The cooks are the best part about this location. The food is always amazing, and well done. Cashiers are also friendly and officiant. I don't really like the strong attempt to keep everyone from cleaning up after themselves. I get it if an employee says "don't worry about your trash I'll clean the table for ya" But the last time I was there I simply got up to try and ask for a side of barbecue sauce for my fries, and one of the associates (look like the manager) told me to go ahead and sit back down and he'd get that for me. Needless to say... never got it.. So the fries were good.. but dry, and couldn't finish them because of that. Keep in mind the cooks did a great job on their part, it was the "lead by example" associate who I guessed tried a little too hard. Visited this location 12:11p.m., so we got to see them in lunch rush. Orders came well presented and quickly despite the rush. Orders were fresh. Pros: Consistent quality in my opinion; good menu options, including salads with or without meat add-ons. Alcohol sales. Clean dining area, friendly staff. Cons: Although the food is tasty and looks great, I feel it is a bit too pricy for the type of restaurant. $3.19 for the large order of shoestring fries is a bit much, despite the great taste.In general, and despite the fact I don't mind paying a little extra, I think the menu is overpriced, and that certainly plays a role when i am looking for a burger joint. Parking at this location is a pure catastrophe at peak hours, but certainly not the fault of the restaurant. Too many shops and restaurants in this trip mall for the demand. (We almost chose to go elsewere.) Seating at this location is mostly 4-person, which creates a problem at peak hours. There is very little seating for single or doubles, uness you hog a booth. Customers here tend to be not in a rush (shoppers from the mall), so workers on 30 minute lunch take a risk, which explains their vigorous Take-out activity. There is a small counter near the front of the restauarnat, but it is not a pleasant place to sit. Take a clue from Chipotle or other brands and make a bar along one wall or at the rear of a back of booths. read more

So today I was out around lunch time and was feeling good about my gym workout earlier in the day so decided to splurge. I was glad I did. I ordered the Baja burger. It was served with fresh jalapenos, not pickled. They also use a dark leaf lettuce and not iceberg. I loved it. It was not greasy. and they have three sizes.
