This was the first time I used Smart Shuttle to get to LAX, I was very pleased with my experience getting to the airport. Reggie was my driver , he was on time and very nice to talk with on my way there. He was a very safe driver too! I would highly recommend Smart Shuttle and Reggie! Thank you, Jodi Hosford read more

After seeing the reviews I had high hopes for Smart Shuttle. But my hopes were dashed on the return trip when they completely mishandled a flight change. Mix ups can happen but Smart Shuttle's handling of this issue shows a lack of business integrity. The trip out was great - we were fortunate with the timing so very little traffic, the driver played great music, I enjoyed the beautiful view along the coast route that he chose to take. The only problem was that not all the seatbelts in the van were working so I just switched seats. On the return trip my flight was canceled and rescheduled for many hours later. I called and gave Smart Shuttle an early heads up not to expect me at the original time. We agreed I would call them back as soon as I knew when I would actually be coming in. I did call back ASAP and told them to pick me up at 12:30 AM. The woman put me on hold to verify that they would have a driver still at LAX which she then assured me they would. She confirmed my new pick up for 12:30 AM. 12:30 AM I'm on the curb - no Shuttle. I call to make sure I'm in the right place. They tell me that in fact my return trip was completely canceled, already refunded and that they had no one there to give me a ride. I luckily found an Uber which of course cost more. I have been checking with Smart Shuttle for 6 days about the refund they said they issued because it has never appeared. I called again today and got an entirely different story. Now they say their log shows that the driver was there at the original pick up time, I wasn't there so it was a no-show! I repeated the whole long story to the woman who answered the phone (who appeared to listen with absolutely no empathy or interest). I told her my next move would be to post here and call the Better Business Bureau. I've been asking for a call back from a manager or owner all along - no call, no refund, 3 different stories - ouch, never again. read more

Think twice before using this service. They left my husband stranded after midnight at the airport in San Luis Obispo because they "couldn't find a driver" !! This reservation was made weeks in advance and they confirmed the reservation, pickup location and time. When I tried calling for my husband, the phone rang and rang and rang before someone finally picked up to say she had no idea what was going on. Very professional ... not! They are suppose to call to confirm the day of the pickup (they did not). They finally called my husband to say they were sorry but they didn't have a driver for him ... so what was he supposed to do at midnight. These people are awful. read more

I thought these guys were really great at first. I had called other shuttle services about a particular pickup time from LAX to a local conference and was told by other services they had specific pickup times like 5pm, or 7pm, but I really wanted a 6pm pickup. I called Smart Shuttle and they happily agreed to pick me up at 6pm from LAX. To be fair, this wasn't completely straightforward.. I wanted pickup at LAX at 6pm, but my plane actually arrived at 2:45, I planned on seeing a friend near the airport in between. I talked with the nice lady at smart shuttle and she said this was all fine, and I should get an email confirmation. No confirmation the next day, so I called them and asked. They said I should get one soon. Few hours later I got a phone call saying they weren't sure where to pick me up, and would I like to be picked up at a hotel? The first lady said she had left a note, but apparently not... so I re-explained the situation, and she confirmed 6pm at LAX at american. She indicated she put this into my note. The next day, I still hadn't received a confirmation, but before I could check back with them they called me. Keep in mind, it is now the night before this scheduled pickup! The smart shuttle lady who called told me she was confused about my 12:35 pickup (???) and that she didn't have a record of my flight number. Also, they had the wrong email address. I explained the situation, and she firmly told me "I have no record that we're picking you up at 6, there's nothing in your note, and we _have no shuttle that can pick you up then_. She offered shuttles 2 hours earlier or an hour later, neither good for me. I said this has already been arranged, and I went with their service specifically because they could do a 6pm pickup! She said again, I'm sorry we only have these two other shuttles. Asked for manager? She was the manager. Asked for anyone who works above her? They're not available. Asked for any thought she had about how to fix this situation; for example, giving me a car at the same price as the shuttle? No, they won't do that. Why not? "Because there's no note in the file, it's not my fault". I'm not to blame, lady. So basically it's a day before I leave, and my shuttle reservation does not exist. I called another service and fortunately we were able to arrange a 6pm pickup (Roadrunner). Assuming that works out (hey, I got a confirmation right away at least!), I'd recommend staying away from this company. I did get a call a few minutes later from the same lady at Smart shuttle saying "I did ask for a favor from the driver and he agrees to pick you up at 6"--so there's that. Not sure why that wasn't offered while I was on the phone. Anyway, 45 minutes of my time wasted talking to these people, clearly disorganized, and a manager who doesn't care about fixing mistakes that her people made. Worst of all: if she hadn't called about the random no flight #, maybe I would have shown up with no one there, and missed my conference because hey "we have no record of that". 2 stars because 1) I never actually took their shuttle (does it exist?). Maybe they're really nice people in person! 2) The manager did eventually try to get me my original request, just too little too late. read more

I've used Smart Shuttle for multiple trips for pickup/dropoff from Ventura to Burbank and LAX. The drivers have been professional, punctual, attentive, and very easy to talk to during the ride. I've had bad experiences with other shuttle companies, including almost swerving into oncoming traffic as a driver was checking his tablet for the next pickup... I haven't had any issues at all with Smart Shuttle as the drivers have mapped everything out beforehand. Getting picked up in a comfy towncar today instead of the usual van was an added plus this am. If you're looking for professionalism and reliability, you're set with Smart Shuttle!! read more

On February 5, 2018, I had a reservation for a 6am pick-up to LAX. The driver didn't show up. I missed my flight to Phoenix and had to rebook an expensive flight the very next day. I emailed and spoke with Laura, the manager several times. I wasn't charged for the pick-up on Tuesday, February 6 to Burbank Airport or for the return on Saturday, February 10, 2018. I'm still waiting for the compensation for having to pay more than double to leave the next day. I don't think I'll use this shuttle service again. read more

This is my first experience with this transportation company. We have used Roadrunner for many years up to this point. When searching the net to schedule a ride from Roadrunner shuttle. This outfit shown up as they have taken over Roadrunner shuttle company. I called and made our reservations and explained we needed to be at LAX 3 hrs before our flight. The person on the other side assured us they will be here prompt and get us to the airport when needed. I received a confirmation email showing the wrong time and the total trip being $70. I called again and was told they dont have a schedule yet and they will get back with me the night before we leave. I had 2 call backs both saying they didn't have a time as of yet. The 3rd call came from them later on. The person on the phone said they will arrive to pick me up at 11:15 and then to pick up my wife and then off to LAX. I explained to the person that is to late and they charged me $80 rather than the $70 that the confirmed booking email stated. The person kept interrupting and didn't seem to care of my concerns. The next day I walked into thier office and spoke with the people in thier front office. I again explained the time pickup being to late and why had the rate gone up? The person then began to explain because there is another pick up stop. I told the person I have a printout of the original invoice and tried showing it to them. The person stated the same and was abrupt and very unprofessional. I am amazed by the lack of SERVICE I have received from the said company. They would not refund any of the $80 they charged to my cc or would arrive earlier to pick myself and wife up. I am dumbfounded and quite frankly disappointed in the lvl of customer service I had received. They have charged my cc and they have my money. I ended up scheduling UBER instead. Smart ride, keep my money and we will part ways. I am interconnected with international flyers and they will know about the lvl of service you provide as well. Good luck read more

"Smart" Shuttle...NOT! We started off on a good note, pick-up was a few minutes early. Driver was nice, courteous. Van wasn't over-crowded, but it was dirty, smelly & had a bad crack in the windshield. When I said something about the crack being a safety hazard the driver volunteered that half the fleet was out of service, and really all of the vans needed tires and many had other issues. But we made it to LAX on time,so far so good. Fast forward to our return trip. I called for pickup and after 15 minutes or so on hold was informed that the driver had a flat tire, and they would arrange a Lyft ride for us, but we had to shuttle to the Lyft pickup area. The Lyft driver was prompt and we didn't have to make other stops on the way home which was a plus. Bottom line for me is that this company is not maintaining their vehicles and is operating negligently if not illegally - I'm pretty sure there are maintenance regulations for transportation services! Smart Shuttle is a no-go for future rides...but our Lyft experience was good! read more

This was my first and last experience using this shuttle service. We reserved a bus to hold ~20 people to take a wine tour around Santa Ynez. We had a schedule and communicated this 48-hours in advance of the actual pickup stressing the importance of being 'on-time'. They called an hour before pickup that the bus blew a gasket and they were sending a van and a limo so now our group was split up. The utility van and old limo showed up one hour late, both vehicles were very dirty and clearlying not prepared for the service we expected. This was a very special occasion that was quite disappointing! The drivers were nice and trying to make the best of the situation..... I would definelty not recommend smart shuttle if you are expecting a high level of service or reliability. read more

Recently used Smart Shuttle to get my family of four (2 young boys) from T.O. to LAX. This was our first experience using an airport transport service and I don't think we will ever go back to driving ourselves! The convenience and ease was worth every penny and I was extremely impressed with the professionalism the driver, Ray, exuded. He arrived early with car seats ready to go and even a few snacks for the kids! In my opinion he drove very cautiously (and usually I am a horrible backseat driver) and I felt safe with him behind the wheel. I am also prone to car sickness but was impressed with the smoothness of the ride and experienced very little sickness. A BIG plus for me! Paola was also very efficient and courteous when arranging our service and I felt that everything ran smoothly from start to finish, including on our ride home a couple weeks later. Highly recommend Smart Shuttle! read more

Recently I had a last minute trip to LAX. The shuttle driver Ray was great. He arrived on time, helped me immediately with my bags and navigated the 405 with expertise. I noticed he took the time to kindly greet person and bid them good bye while helping them at the terminal drop off area. Ray demonstrated the what good customer service is all about. ~ ~ ~ My Thanks and Five Stars go out to Ray !!! ~ ~ ~ ( Smart Shuttle definitely needs clean, update and improve their ruff running Vans for their customers if they want a solid repeat business base here in Ventura County ) read more

Used to be an excellent service, but for some reason that seems to have changed. Dispatch told me 10pm pick up for 1am LAX flight. Great, until car arrived at 9pm. I wasn't ready to leave early--and driver took off without me! Person on phone insisted there was a 9:15 pm pick up, until I played here the voice mail back! Then she insisted 9:15 is the correct time because that's what it says on her computer!! Bottom line: if you hire this company, make sure have back up plans. If they make a mistake, they will do nothing to correct it and you will be left driverless. read more

Will definitely use Super Shuttle again & again & again . . . . . . My flight in mid-June 2016 was delayed 2 hours from JFK & didn't arrive till past 1:30 am & Super Shuttle was right there waiting to take me & my little dog home to Camarillo. Ii had three good trips with Smart Shuttle and was rec0mmenbding them to friends. But after the last pickup, I will advise them to use Roadrunner. The driver picked me up at the Burbank Airport for what should have been a 45 minute drive to Camarillo. It turned into a 3 and a half hour trip, Shortly after leaving the airport I told the driver he was on the wrong freeway, but he insisted on proceeding north. When we got to Valencia, he headed west to the 101 freeway south, and I finally arrived home. That was bad enough, but the non-service I got from the Camarillo office wAS JUST AS BAD. I MADE THREE ATTEMPTS STO TALK WITH THE MAANAGER, BUT SHE WAS ALWAYS UNAVAILABLE. Finally I talked with someone else who gave excuses for what happened When she said their policy was to only give as 10 percent refund, Is told her to keep her $3. There was never an apology. read more

Never use this company! They have progressively become more disorganized over the years. They now also think that it's an acceptable policy to show up 80 minutes later than was scheduled & refuse to refund the payment issued when Uber had to be called instead. Despite several attempts to speak to a manager, I have been blown off completely. I was told I would receive a call back & am still waiting nearly a week later. read more

I Recently took a trip to Hawaii with my son and his two grandmothers. We had Reggie as our driver to & from LAX. He arrived early to our home and was very friendly and helpful with all our bags. Our ride was nice and Reggie was very professional. When it came time to be picked up at LAX our plane actually arrived 1/2 hour early and as we were walking off the plane Reggie called my cell phone and told us he was on route but was dealing with traffic. We had our luggage and only had to wait at the curb about 1/2 an hour which was understandable in my book. It was a rainy miserable evening to be driving and I was extremely thankful to NOT be driving. Reggie did an awesome job of avoiding navigating his way through the mess that is driving LA in the rain at night, while we sat back and enjoyed some conversation comparing vacations with 2 other ladies that were coming home from a Caribbean cruise. The best part of my story is that when we all got out of the shuttle at my home I somehow screwed up and left my camera that had all our vacation photos in the back of the Shuttle. I didn't realize until over an hour later. I called Reggie by going back on my cell phone and he had already dropped off the van but he was very courteous and said he would check back in the morning. The next day he called with great news the camera was there and he would deliver it to our home. DEFINITELY deserves 5 STARS!!! Thank You Smart Shuttle and Reggie, Woohoo! read more

Reggie picked me up at the airport very late and we arrived at my house 2:30am. I felt so comfortable with him and in light of the fact that it was late, he provided excellent customer service. Ask for Reggie, you will be pleased to say the least. Happy and Safe Travels. read more

Super nice gentlemen picked me up and was very personable. Great first experience. Give them a try. Cheaper than roadrunner!

Van was on time and clean. Reggie the driver was friendly and knowledgeable driver. Efficient way to get to LAX from Ojai

I have used Smart Shuttle twice for round-trips to the SLO airport and found them to be courteous, helpful, and on time. I have met all three drivers--Ken, Angie, and Ed--and all were careful drivers who were really pleasant. One of my flites on the return was approx. 2 hours late, and because of the tracking used by the drivers with my flite #, they corrected up with no problems. In fact, I need to book with them again for about 6 weeks out, and I know that Smart Shuttle will not be one of the many stressful things about my trip! read more

I used their service between LAX and Ojai round-trip back in June. When I looked into the shuttles recommended by my two lodgings, I found plenty of horrible reviews. So I decided to go with these folks, even though at the time there was little info outside of their Facebook page. I'm delighted to see all the positive reviews since then! Only hiccup was with online booking form; I followed up after 24 hours and they'd never received my info. So I booked by phone both ways, with email confirmation and updates, and it could not have gone better. Everyone was I spoke to was courteous and professional. Drivers were on time, safe, and personable. Vehicles were new, clean, and comfortable. And prices are competitive. read more

After 16 hours of international travel I am very frustrated, tired and angry with Smart shuttle- After talking with Alex who is the lead at this time (manager is gone and it's only 4p) and feeling very discriminated against as a single woman left "stranded" at the airport for almost 2 hours at the curb- I was told by the driver that I needed to wait an hour because he had to pick up a party of 4 that were due in by 5pm - I'm traveled and traveling and to wait at the airport for 2 hours is completely unacceptable with another 1.5 to 2 hours home to Moorpark after that - yes I understand it is a shared ride and there is a schedule and my flight was delayed 45 mins (due at 2p arrived at 241p) international travel is exhausting- I will no longer refer my business or anyone who asks to use them - if management isn't there at 4p why should I or anyone use them when they are being poorly managed I finally was picked up at 522pm so waited 2 hours!! And of course the Westlake Village people are being dropped off first and after 3 stops Moorpark is last - maybe they should change the name to stupid shuttle or am I the stupid one who booked them ? Maybe they just weren't ready to take over the Roadrunner business to the airport read more

We needed to be picked up in Thousand Oaks for a drive to LAX. The driver was late and didn't apologize. She said there was heavier than normal traffic coming from Camarillo. When she asked how to get to the freeway we asked if she had GPS. She said she did, but sometimes her pickups know a better route. I never saw a GPS. She drove all over the 101 even though it was heavy traffic. When she got on the 405 she entered the HOV lane as soon as she could, but she exited it twice and back in over the double yellow line. She never offered to help with the luggage at pick up or drop off. She almost answered her cell phone while on the freeway, but she was asked not to answer it. As if that trip was not bad enough, the trip home was worse. I called the company to tell them we were delayed and the plane was waiting on the the runway for a gate (don't use American Airlines). The driver called and told me to let her know when we had our luggage. She also said she'd wait for us. I called her when we got to baggage claim, but she said she had to leave. I then got a call from a male driver who wanted to know where we were and I told him we were still waiting on our luggage. He said to meet him on the inside lane, because he couldn't pick us up on the outer lane. This turned out to be incorrect. I called and told him we had our luggage and would meet him outside. He negotiated the most amazing maneuver over the sidewalk and pulled up next to us. After we were in the van he told us we had to wait for two more passengers who were having trouble at Customs at the Bradley Terminal. We left the airport and headed down Sepulveda Blvd. and parked in a Starbucks parking lot. He told us we'd have to wait up to an hour from the time he first picked us up. We were there for almost an hour. We finally drove back into the airport and headed for the Bradley Terminal. We picked up the two additional passengers and I asked one of them, what was the problem with Customs ? He said it wasn't a Customs problem. He said they were in a line to get TSA Pre-check for future flights. This whole process with Smart Shuttle was totally unacceptable. We called them because Roadrunner no longer provided this service and had recommended Smart Shuttle. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews on-line before booking our two trips. While speaking with the 2nd driver I asked about mileage on the Van. While I would assume they are used a lot, I was surprised to hear that this particular van was obtained from Roadrunner and it had over 300,000 miles. He also said that is typical, and then apologized for the fact that the air conditioning didn't work. He said that they replace items that are not working, even with so many miles on the vans, because that is less expensive than buying new vans. Good luck if you decide to use this company in the future. read more

So Thursday morning rolls around and I was still completely bugged by the fact that I hadn't heard anything from Smart Shuttle regarding my trip home...I thought writing the original review would have helped me get over it but when I checked my email this morning and saw the receipt for the charge, my disappointment reared its ugly head again and I decided to call the office. Turns out, the office was NOT EVEN AWARE that there was a problem with my trip home or that the car broke down! I spoke with Laura who sincerely apologized (which is what I wanted in the first place) and she promptly issued a credit for the return trip. I will continue using Smart Shuttle and hope that dispatch gets up to speed like the rest of the professionals here. read more

After reading all the negative reviews I was very hesitant to use this company, but when Super Shuttle stopped shared ride service to Thousand Oaks I had little choice. I found the online booking process a little confusing but the people in their office were very friendly and answered all my questions with a smile in their voices. I had set my airport pick up for 45 minutes after my flight arrival anticipating a delay getting luggage, so when my flight and bags arrived early I was resigned to a long wait. I called for a pick up, was told the driver would call me in a few minutes. He did, and said he would be there in 10 minutes. He picked me up in less than 10 minutes! The driver determined that with traffic it would be faster to take PCH so we had a delightful drive along the coast. Even though I was the last to be dropped off I arrived at my destination over an hour earlier than anticipated! Wonderful service, looking forward to using them again! read more

I have used Smart Shuttle several times to transport me from Ventura to LAX. On 1 occasion I have had a good experience and on 2 occasions I have had a dreadful experience. The first dreadful experience was several months ago when I had them pick my son up at the house to go to LAX. The driver was supposed to pick him up at something like 4AM. At 4:20, I called to ask where the driver was. They called back to say that they could not find the driver but that they would have a cab pick him up in 11 minutes (at the shuttle price). 15 minuets later I called to ask where the cab was and was told that he was almost to us. Yet it took almost another 15 minutes before the cab actually arrived (for a total of 30 minutes). My son made his flight - but just barely. Had they told me that the cab was going to take 30 minutes, I would have taken my son to the airport myself. The second dreadful experience was last Sunday (May 11). My wife and I arrived on a flight from New York. After we got our luggage, I called their dispatcher (as instructed) to let them know that we were ready. At first the dispatcher indicated that she thought that the driver was already at the airport and said that she would call me right back. She called back and told me that the driver was delayed and would call me in 45 minutes or so to let us know where to meet him. The driver also called. Although it was true that he was in traffic (In LA there is ALWAYS traffic), he also shared with me that he was timing his arrival at LAX long after our flight arrived because he also had to pick up a passenger who was scheduled to arrive almost an hour after our flight. I very much resent being misled by the dispatcher as to the real reason why the shuttle was not there when we arrived. Well, then the other plane was late, and they apparently took a long time to get the luggage off. Bottom line - we did not leave the airport until almost 2 hours after we had our baggage and were ready to leave. read more

Friendly and courteous, Reggie made this last leg of our travel comfortable and safe. He was on time, found us, and took care of everything.
