If you think "out the door price" means the total cost you will pay for your vehicle, Smart Motorz is not for you. We had agreed on an out the door price and I wrote my check. I was extremely disappointed to hear a month later that I owed a balance, putting my actual cost above a price that I had refused. The issue was that the estimate for registration/title/plates etc. was listed on my purchase order as $100 when the cost was actually $260. Fine, you got me Smart Motorz, I should have known that $100 was an impossibly low estimate for registration in WA and not trusted you to be honest with me at all. My bad, I has assumed you were like all other dealers that manage to get within $25 and usually give you a few bucks back when the plates come in so their customers do not feel cheated. I called the state and looked into it. Having my address and knowing that it would have taken two of these cars to go above the base weight fee, there was only one fee that was not fixed and needed to be estimated, the $18.29 RTA Excise Tax. This means $240.50 in fixed fees is the minimum possible fee. Breakdown attached. A $100 estimate is in no way possible or reasonable. Nobody told me Smart Motorz could be shady and/or incompetent that ther estimate of fees they deal eith every day could be 150% off just so that it appeared as if I woud pay the agreed price. Now I know. I asked why the estimate was so far off when picking up may plates, and was told the estimate was "random" and they blamed the state. No effort to make things right or even acknowledge that their fabricated "random" lowball estimate cost me money. To me, a deal is a deal. Whether it was gross incompetence or deliberate use of an unrealistic estimate, Smart Motorz does not deserve your business. They will certainly not get any more of mine. I'm sure there is a catch to the "free oil change" but I'm not going to waste my time finding out. read more

I had been car shopping for about 2 months after getting in an accident where someone totaled my car and was dreading going to another dealership where they'll either tell me the car is no longer on the lot or that it was out of my budget without room to negotiate. However, when I came to Smart Motorz they had the car I saw on kbb(red 2014 Mazda cz-9 touring) pretty damn good condition for a used car! Took it out on a test drive, came back very happy. Now it was out of my budget but we were able to drop the price a bit, and for a newer (than my previous)car with all the fancy bits I wanted I felt ok with going above budget. Came by to look at a used car I saw online. Communicated with the owner over email and he was very straightforward and professional. When I arrived the owner greeted me, unlocked the car, answered a few questions I had about it, and then left me to look over the car in peace. When I was satisfied with my inspection I paid $100 (50% refundable if you don't buy) to take the car off the lot to an independent mechanic. The inspection revealed some problems that were otherwise not noticeable, and when I came back to the dealership the owner was completely understanding and not pushy when I told him I was no longer interested. I bought a Sentra in December. Had to replace the transmission in January and come March, the "new" transmission was failing. I supposedly got a warranty with the one they replaced but I've been trying to get a hold of someone at Smart Motorz since March with nothing back. The transmission completely failed last week and I had to buy another car, an expense I couldn't actually afford. Don't go here. They will charm you into thinking they are doing good by you and in turn you will lose thousands of dollars. We've reached out to the AG and the BBB. read more

Not the place for a car detail. Don't waste your valuable time. Made a reservation to have my car detailed (a nearly $300 service). Dropped it off the night before and told it would be completed sometime the next day and I would get a call. After not receiving a call all day I showed up at 6 PM as the business closes at 7pm to find my car had not even been touched! When I asked what happened I got "Oh, we were told you could pick it up on tomorrow". This would have left me without my car for a total of 3 days (1 full and 2 part).This is a used car dealership so I learned the hard way detailing is not a priority unless it is a car they plan to sell. read more

I came to check out a Honda Element that I found online. It was the 1st of many Elements that I was going to look at that day and I was honestly dreading it. Car shopping is probably my least favorite thing to do. The whole process gives me anxiety and I hate negotiating. I just want to be shot straight and not feel like I'm being taken advantage of. Rafik was extremely friendly, professional, very informative, sincere, and genuine. I'm big on reading peoples energy and have a instinct that's usually spot on and everything was positive. He explained their whole process of how they pick out their cars and the inspections that they go through before they put them on the lot. He was not pushy what-so-ever and didn't hover over me while I was looking at the car. He just let me do my thing and come to him if I had any questions. Everything just felt "good" and I knew I found the right car. They also offer free oil changes after purchase - that shows you that they aren't afraid for you to come back. They are proud of their vehicles. The buying process was very easy. There was no negotiating because they already price their cars extremely fair. I purchased a car this weekend from Rafik the owner. I had been so frustrated looking at so many cars at several different lots until I pulled in to Smart Motorz in Kent on Central Ave. I'm not going to go into details except to say that this not your "typical" used car lot. I was treated like I was family, he was nice and went out of his way to accommodate me in every way, with price, dependability, carfax the whole works. Most of all and most importantly....He was honest. I did not feel this trust at any other lot I had been to. He has a mechanic and shop there at the lot and even offers FREE oil changes as long as you own the car. That's a big bonus! Plus if you should ever need maintenance, they already know the car and you have a dependable service shop and mechanic at the site. When buying a used car what is the most important thing? Completely untrustworthy and questionable business practices! Buyers beware!!!! I bought a 2000 Sienna van from Smart Motorz, and within 60 miles of driving off their lot the Check Engine light came on. I checked the error code and it was a problem with the transmission. I disconnected the battery to clear the code, to see if it would come on again, and the Check Engine came on again after driving it another 40 miles. The transmission was going out in this van and it costs $3000 for a rebuilt one. It seems Smart Motorz does not fully inspect their vehicles before they sell them or they do not fully disclose the true condition of them. It's was my fault to think I could trust them to be honest about the condition of their vehicles. Smart Motorz is not a smart place to buy a vehicle. Don't make the same mistake I did. DO NOT BUY from Smart Motorz or at the very least, buy the extended warranty to protect yourself. read more
