After looking around the market for system repairs, I decided to go with SBL Games based off the…read morepositive reviews I read. Called the store and spoke to Steve; I told him that I suspected my PS5 was overheating and asked if he could fix it, which he said he could. My overall experience with Steve and SBL Games was generally positive. I took my system to the shop on Saturday and got it back Friday the following week. I know my system isn't the one Steve was working on so I consider that a pretty fast turnaround time, right in line with the 3-5 business day timeframe I was told. I no longer have any overheating issues and can play for hours on end since then. Giving SBL Games a 4.5 just because I wish Steve's communication was a tiny bit better. I called and he didn't seem to remember a prior conversation we had regarding my PS5 which he said he had completed repairs on. It's a very small gripe and I would recommend him to anyone needing a system repair. His prices are also affordable and nothing crazy, which I appreciate.

I took in a newer PS5 controller that had zero issues for joystick upgrades. After two weeks of…read moredelays, excuses, and lies, I got back the wrong controller--old, scratched, dirty, and clearly not mine. Timeline: * After two weeks, he said it needed calibration and that he had to buy a new laptop charger. Fine. * A few days later, he said his car was in the shop. Fine again. * I showed up the next day--he wasn't there. Front desk confirmed it. * I called him. No answer. He texted an hour later claiming he was there the whole time. False. * The following day, I finally got a controller back--but it wasn't mine. He admitted there was a mix-up because he had two white controllers come in the same day. Instead of fixing it properly by contacting the other customer, he tried to brush it off and "clean" the wrong controller. I refused because this was not my controller. He did not want to correct his own mistake. To make it worse, once I plugged it in, the microphone does not work. I am now stuck with a broken controller, and he refuses to take responsibility or fix it. Do not go to this guy. I know he'll reply to this review with excuses or claims that it's fake--he does that to other bad reviews too. Go read them yourself. Save your money and save yourself the headache.

In a time when all of our stuff is made cheaply and expected to break, shops like this are a beacon of critical thinking and taking care of business. San Bernardino is like LA, you can find anything if you look hard enough. This part of town is rough - but preserve through if you are the kind of person who hates the throwaway culture that has been thrust upon us. My tv had a problem where is suddenly had no picture, but the sound worked. Googling around, I found some repair flow charts and determined the issue to be either the power board or LEDs. Since power boards are so cheap online, I tried that first. That wasn't the issue so I knew part of the LED backlight was bad and I was not interested in the careful/gentle nature of that type of repair. I found this shop and they were very friendly and straight forward. It cost $25 for diagnostic, which of course goes towards repair if you choose to do it (just like a mechanic). They were able to fix my issue same day (probably because these tvs are crap and they keep common fix components in stock). It ended up being ~$150 total and it is better than new because they put longer lasting LEDs in there than it started with. Yay! The repair tech recommended I get a good power strip to plug into to protect the LEDs for fluctuations in power that could make them go bad in the future. Note, he didn't sell it to me, he recommended it as a best practice. Good dude.

The tech also lost our power cable to our tv and gave us some generic one after scrambling around. They charge a Dx charge to be applied to the repairs, however we still had charges added on after the Dx was given and repairs done. they refused to give my husband the price he was quoted, even after he spoke with them over the phone and confirmed the charges before pick up multiple times. My husband is beyond upset. Needs so much more organization. take responsibility for their mistakes (ie losing a power cord) instead of telling custom "they all work the same it's fine just take this one", it's the principle.

As it was the end of the day, he said he'd look at it and call me Monday. Monday afternoon rolled around and I got impatient and called him. He told me he had checked it out and it was the transformer, and that he'd call me on Tuesday with the estimate for a new transformer. Around noon on Tuesday, he called me back with his quote. While the cost was within reason, I opted not to have it repaired due to the receiver's age and the price I paid for it refurbished on a discount site years ago. Even with the diagnostic fee counting towards the total cost, I explained that I'd probably be better off putting the cost of the repair towards a newer receiver with modern features, and he seemed to understand. Had the receiver been worth more to me, I would have had no problem giving Andrew my business. The service was good (not kiss-your-ass-good like some entitled Yelpers seem to demand, but more honest and professional, which I appreciate), and he seems to have a lot of experience. His shop is a small storefront with bins of components and all the stuff you'd want to see in a repair shop. While my particular repair didn't make good financial sense, had I had a higher-end unit or a TV that was out of warranty, it would have definitely been better to fix it than to recycle it. In a world where electronics repair people are becoming scarcer, it's good to know that shops like this still exist.

I asked them how long would it take for a screen to be shipped to their shop, and they said it should come in 7-10 business days and from then they should be able to fix the screen a day later if not the same day. After that, I called numerous times to try and see if my iPad was fixed, but every time I call the line is "busy." I never received a phone call back, I had to drive over to the shop to check the progress on my iPad. They weren't finished and I had to go back later to pick up my device. So my dad's computer had some virus and he had no clue where the system recovery disk was. I would…read moreusually try to restore it myself but I know he had been wanting to upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 anyways so I took this as the opportunity to get the upgrade. Although I was trying to be thoughtful, it turned into a mistake that I took his computer here of all places... I dropped it off on a Sunday and they were trying to convince me to pay more to retrieve old files in which I declined. The guy told me he could have it done by approximately Wednesday. I told him he has until Friday evening in which he said that should have been more than enough time to restore it and install Windows 7 (or so he thought)... On Tuesday I checked my voicemail and I got a message from the Tech Center on Monday. A guy asked if I wanted to retrieve old files for extra money and that he won't work on it until I call him back to confirm the old info would be wiped... HOW ANNOYING!! I called back and he was giving me an attitude like it was MY PROBLEM he wasn't the guy I spoke with on Sunday and THAT GUY didn't note it. Well I'm sorry you guys need to all learn how to communicate and note shit better. Anyways I gave him the thumbs up to wipe the info and fix it... By Friday I still haven't heard from Tech Center so I called them. The girl who answered asked for my name... twice... and I even spelled it for her... then she puts someone else on... their manager... ohh the amount of colorful words that come to mind right about now... So he tells me that yesterday/Thursday they discovered that their Windows 7 installation disk was scratched or not working for whatever reason and they had just contacted their corporate to send them a new one WTFFFF! and he told me I can come get it and bring it back whenever it comes in. DUDE DOES IT LOOK LIKE I HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD TO WASTE ON YOUR DAMN SHOP?!?!? Apparently in his opinion he felt that he was being extremely helpful to me... Notice how I had to call them to find out such annoying news. Imagine if I didn't make the initiative to call in!!! I would have wasted a trip there -_-' They didn't even bother to inform me when they found out their stupid Windows 7 install disk had issues... And then on Saturday I came to demand for the tower back and it was a different guy there so I didn't want to yell at him. He wasn't the one I'm beefing... BUT he refused to give me back the computer ... Then I had to tell him the whole story... Wastes more of my precious time... Blah blah blah... Ultimately I got it back and my friend will fix it for free and install Windows 7 for free. Ironic as heck because I avoided asking my friend because I felt that it would take too long... What a fail! It could have been done by now.
