We had purchased over 60k equipments for our media room and living room from them, their installer…read morecracked the stone on our fireplace wall whileinstalling the TV mount. It took the installer over an hour to drill 2 holes for the TV mount. He couldn't drill the hole successfully and ending up buying a new drill from Home Depot. The installer went ahead to drill on the stone without even asking the type of stone. Yes, they did take the picture after installation without any damage. But next day the contractor that I hired to work on my house saw the crack. I immediately informed the sales rep that we had been working on our purchases and the first response was did we do any work on the fireplace wall after the TV was installed and we told him we didn't. He said there was no crack on the wall after installation but I explained to him that the stone probably fractured when they drilled and didn't show the crack yet. After we agreed that to have their technician to come out to take the TV down to assess if there is any further damage on the stone. On the day that technician came out to take the TV down, he agreed that their technician cracked the stone by not properly drilling while video taping to report the instance and assessment. One of that things that he pointed out was the crack was started from one hole to the other hole that was drilled. Few weeks later, we received an email from them that they are not responsible for the damage and offering us a $100 gift card as we are valuable customer. That really pissed us off. Then, we reached out to the sales rep to dispute and response was nothing that they can do about it. Then, we requested them coming to look at the damage themselves and got no response. Finally, we escalated and got in a call with the owner, sales rep & tech team manager. Owner is trying to blame on the quality of the stone without even knowing the type of stone and claiming that he owns a flooring installation company. Then, we asked whether their technicians are certified to drill any type of stone but the answer was their technicians are only certified by their own team manager. I suggested to have 3rd party to investigate and determine the cause but the owner didn't buy it, I requested both the owner and the sales rep to come out look at the damage but no response. After that call, they asked questions that related to the stone installation method and details which I had received from the stone installation company and also provided the quotation for the repair. I haven't received any response after info was provided for over a month. To sum it up, pricing, service and quality is secondary to me and the most important thing is honesty and accepting the fault.

They did a beautiful job! Johann answered all my questions from start to finish, explained things in a way that made sense to a non-tech person, and never made me feel stupid for all my questions. I had purchased the wrong equipment, wired my house wrong, and installed a versa box which left a hole in my fireplace (all because Tollbrothers had rushed me through the process or frankly gave me the wrong info to start). Johann never acted frustrated that he was dealing with a less than ideal situation. He never showed frustration with the situation, but simply offered me astute work-arounds and solutions. It's obvious that he takes pride in his work and his craft. You can tell he truly enjoys finding solutions and making customers happy. Moreover, it was obvious that Johann takes great pride in the incredible team he has built. Communication between him and all his team members was seamless. Each of the four members that showed up for the install were not only knowledgeable, but they were also kind and respectful. They treated my house with care, cleaned up any messes from the install, and asked if there was anything else they could do to help. Not once did they make me feel rushed for asking questions. We recently moved into our new home in Lantana from a larger home in Austin. While very much into two-channel audio listening, my wife and I also wanted the flexibility of employing our fairly high-end audio system for home theater use. Thus the absolute need for rear speakers...along with in-wall wiring and mounting of a new 65" TV. I did a lot of research to help me determine who or what company I'd hire to perform the work. A local company, Quality Smart Homes, was highly recommended by a bunch of people in the Lantana area, so I scheduled them, along with a couple other companies, to come by and work up and estimate. Quality Smart Homes was scheduled first and Derek came by to take a look at our home, inspect the configuration of the attic and chat with me about my options. I was very impressed with Derek's demeanor, respectful politeness, appearance and knowledge. He provided a very reasonable estimate (which he allowed me to modify later in terms of equipment and scope)...the estimate was so reasonable; I made the "buy decision" right then and cancelled other estimate visits. Derek asked the next day if he and Shay (a partner) could make one more quick pre-install visit to look at the attic/room layout. That done, we scheduled for two weeks out (they are busy). I asked for an earlier install to better fit my needs and they said "OK if a Sunday morning was OK with me." It was and I was happy. The install was quick and virtually painless for me and now I've got theater-like surround sound to go with my critical stereo music listening. Anyway, as I write this, I find myself wishing the world was full of companies with people as nice, punctual, friendly, competent and helpful as Derek, Shay with Quality Smart Homes. In our new home, in which we are planning other significant upgrades, we have not had the same level of good luck with vendors in other trades (electricians, shutter installers, masons, landscapers, etc.). We will deal with all that but are so pleased that the home-theater stuff is off our list...and was so easy. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball that "makes your day." This was one of those.
