Stopping by Smackers = best decision ever! We decided to swing by on Christmas Eve to check them out. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady at the counter. Since it was our first time visiting, we were a bit indecisive about what to go for, but she did a great job of providing us with suggestions. I decided to order the Salmon Club, my husband ordered the Smack Burger (since he was told it was huge) and my son ordered the shrimp pasta. The salmon club was great and I didn't feel as guilty consuming that tasty meal. My husband's burger was HUGE. I sampled it and I must confess - it was pretty tasty indeed. The special sauce took it up a notch. My husband asked to see the person that cooked the burger and thanked them over and over for such a great meal. He told them that it was literally the best burger he had ever had in his life. One of the managers swung by the table to check in on us and was very professional and told us to make sure that we let them know if we ever experience any issues. Overall - we were highly pleased with the service and the "cheat meals" We are counting down the days before we are able to return again. Highly recommend!! read more

Not gonna lie, this food SMACKED. For those of you who don't know, that's slang for it was BUSSING. And that's slang for the food was great. I got the Smack burger and it was easily one of the best burgers I've had in Memphis. Very delicious and filling, albeit a little greasy. The fries were great too, nice seasoned fries. I wish I'd taken a picture but I definitely wolfed that burger down in no time flat. 10/10 experience, with some decent prices to boot! read more

Very disappointed! When eating their fries, I bit into a rock piece that was in the food, then when telling the man that served us, he was rude, defensive, and condescending. I commented under their pinned instagram post of Drake that I found a rock in my food; the account liked my comment then replied asking how they could help with the "unfortunate experience", then they proceeded to delete my comment and blocked me on instagram. I visited this new location a few weeks after they opened. It was packed and I had to wait about an hour for my food. The staff were nice and understanding about the wait. They were still trying to work out some issues with the printer and training new staff so I get it. I ordered a variety of food so I could get a full experience. ALL OF THE FOOD WAS SLAPPIN! I will say I was excited to try this place but now I will never be back ever. I used their online ordering while on the road for work. Ordered and said it would be delivered by GrubHub. I called to confirm the order and after an hour called and the manager said the order was still under the heat lamps. I spent an hour calling Grubhub and this location. GrubHub said they are 3rd party and need to alert them to send a driver. Manager said they don't and its GrubHubs fault. I told her to cancel my order. This is when she says they will not as the foods made. I asked to speak with a manager and she said that was her and her brother owned it. After she refused I said fine I will dispute this with my credit card. She replied that she will let her brother know so he can dispute it. Thieves are what these guys are. GrugHub can't find the order and I'm out $60 and the food. I don't care to give bad reviews but this was the worst experience ever. read more

O.M.G. I just had THE most amazing sandwich! I'll admit I never paid much attention to "Smackers"--other than the name--whenever I passed by this location. However, my husband ate here a couple months ago while his truck was being worked on at a nearby automotive place, so he only chose to eat at Smackers because it was within walking distance. He loved the Salmon Club and the atmosphere so much that he recently asked me on a lunch date by channeling his inner Leon Phelps with a little, "Hey, sweet thing, can I buy you a fish sandwich?" Brothers Lue (like Lou) and Chef Kevin we're very nice and welcoming, the old-school soul music was calming--not too loud-- and fun to listen to (Brickhouse, though!), and the salmon sandwich IS. A. MUST. The salmon was so thick, juicy and tasty that I actually wondered why I've never bothered to put it between toasted bread along with cheese and bacon. Who knew?!? Even though I've been trying to eat clean this week, I dared to add a side of onion rings (just 'cause) which wound up being perfectly crisped on the outside, yet actually juicy on the inside. I've never had a juicy onion ring and, no, it wasn't oil. We were there around 1pm-ish and didn't wait longer than 10 minutes for two Salmon Club Combos. One thing: I read through other reviews from over the last year and noticed some were upset over cooked-to-order food taking a little too long, running out of items, or feeling like their patronage wasn't appreciated. We didn't experience any of these issues, so I decided to look at these as possible pandemic-based situations. I'm pleased that these brothers are running a wonderfully clean establishment with excellent food, terrific customer service and great conversation. We spoke with Lue and Chef Kevin to learn more about them and the history of their business, which was a great way to spend our time and not look at our phones, lol. They're not corporate-owned or a franchise (although they're hoping to franchise someday), so consider supporting this amazing, locally-owned and operated business who is also an authorized retailer of Frost Bake Shop cakes, which is another amazing locally-owned and operated business. FYI There is a sign on the top of the register to inform customers of the 2.9% credit card surcharge, and Lue also made sure we were aware of it prior to paying in case we wanted to use cash. But I was trying to call my order in so that I could just pick it up rather than wait 30 minutes and every time they pick the phone up.. they would say hold please and never come back to the phone. I got there and went inside and placed my order and while i was waiting, I noticed the lady on her personal phone which is fine but when the restaurant phone rang, she answered and said "can you hold please" and continued talking on her cell phone. 1. They are SUPER busy! Get over it - popular places are... That's a good thing. I noticed how busy they were so I ordered online. When I arrived there was an issue with my order. The manager - Jazmine( i believe ) talked to me immediately and asked me about some additional items on my order since it didn't tell me to set up the appetizer sampler. One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. We ordered online and were given a pickup time of 6:45. We received our order around 7:15, with no updates given during the wait and no "sorry for the delay." But maybe the food would be good? When we got home I found that the double cheeseburger I ordered had no cheese, the ketchup I requested somehow became mustard, and the bacon I paid extra for was nowhere in sight. My wife didn't much like her food (boneless wings and sliders) either. I'm usually very forgiving in reviews; anyplace can have a bad day.
