Honey Hot
Adam H.

Love! Love! Love! some Chicken Coop! This was the first time I had visited this location. I found it to be speedy, very efficient, and just damn tasty. The employees were very friendly which is something I've never experienced at a Chicken Coop. My location in Olive Branch makes it so impossible to get an order from that I just stopped trying and gave up the Coop. I was really sad because I really like their wings, A LOT! Now I have found this location near my work and I am pretty stoked to get some good wings again. Honey Hot is my favorite flavor. Lemon Pepper Hot is pretty good too. Seasoned fries are good. I like the corn nuggets and the chicken livers too. You catch me at the Coop on Wednesday for the wing special! It's a deal that you just can't beat on whole wings! Live long Chicken Coop!

7 piece whole seasoned with seasoned fries and honey gold

First time here but really good wings and meaty. I like mine a little more crispy but the offset is the meat was really moist. Tasty fries and adding hot sauce to honey gold was nice. Need to try the hot now that I have tasted the chicken. Great service esp during lunch hour walk in and served in about 10 min. Still hot and crisp when I got to the office. A definite place to come back to

The prices here are in line with the rest of the area. My party ordered the blackened fish, honey gold wings, extra hot wings, and lemon pepper wings. We ordered the whole wings. The wings tasted great. The extra hot wings had the perfect balance of heat and flavor. The honey gold wings tasted amazing. The lemon pepper wings had plenty of seasoning. The blackened fish was a nice surprise. They really did a good job on all the seasoning.

Good food..there a ton of chicken wing places in Memphis and this place has a classic menu with good food. Wound up getting a burger and the lunch menu is competitively priced.

I haven't had the best of luck with Chinese food in Memphis so I did everything I could to suppress this unwanted craving, however, I just couldn't help myself. Little Petals pops up on Yelp as a possibility. I read the reviews and scrolled through the pictures. After looking at the location, I realized it was only an 8-minute drive from where we were. Why not, right? The restaurant is easy to miss. It sits right on the corner in an old shanty building nestled in the middle of downtown Memphis. The furniture and décor were of a standard Chinese eatery, nothing special; but the employees were warm and welcoming, greeting me with hellos and smiles. I got the black pepper chicken that came with a spring roll. I ordered an extra side of pork egg rolls because that's usually my go to. Everything was fantastic! It gives you the taste of that old school Chinese food you used to have as a kid, but better quality. The chicken was moist, flavorful and peppery. The egg rolls had the perfect amount of crispy crunch---they seemed handmade as well! Pricing is a little higher from when I was a kid, but you still won't break the bank here! As I started to think that great Chinese food was not an option for Memphis, Little Petals showed up at the right time and made me a believer!

So, Little Petals, i.e., Petals of a Peony, Jr.: no one was inside. I assume this to be per usual for 2:30pm on a Tuesday. It follows then, that the service was, um, efficient and bespoke. Ordered the pork eggrolls (very good, the sauce that came with it - oddly the perfect amount was given in a little rectangular container - made these delectable) and the General Peony's Chicken. And this was damned good. Pricey for lunch, but I could have made 2 or 3 meals off of it. A satisfying amount of heat from the szcheuan (sp?) peppers; not overly breaded so as to make it a fried dough dish, but rather to carry the sauce on the chicken; the chicken was a quality cut, nicely sized per bite. A new go-to for lunch downtown.

She was extremely pleasant and welcoming. The portions are massive and the flavor intense. Jacob got the salad which had way more on it than explained. He loved it. I got the truffle sandwich and it was absolutely the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. It had two giant fried tenders on it which were juicy and crispy with their amazing wingman sauce. It also had a truffle aioli that was subtle but definitely delicious. The fries are season and crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside. We got the wingman platter. For the love of God this was incredible. The wings were juicy as well as nicely crispy. The flavors, now here's where they hit. There was a honey mustard, wingman, lemon pepper and a type of jerk curry. Well let's say this, I NEVER dipped. Not once. The seasoning on every one of these was magnificent. The curry was my favorite. It had a unique flavor with a kick. Best wings Ever!!! The place earns its name. We also had the rolls which were spicy and flavorful. Wouldn't pass on those either. This place deserves more than 5 stars. If you're looking for fried chicken or wings DON'T MISS this place. I am ruined now, because I will forever want this food every time I want fried chicken. When it came to which flavors to pick, I knew I had to try their award-winning flavor, Memphis Buffalo. I'm not a big wing person, so it was just ok to me. It was good, but didn't wow me. Also, I always get boneless, so I'm not sure if the flavor is different on regular wings- so take my review with a large grain of salt if you're a big wing person. The fries were really good but the flavored versions weren't that impressive so I'd rather just stick to the regular fries. The Pineapple Habanero was really good though. The wings are smoked with the sauce added later. The wings taste good but they are pretty expensive for what they are. People should try the wings but I prefer deep fried wings that hold the sauce better.

You might try with a side of shrimp, but honestly, the fish with the grits gets the job done-- it's so yummy! You will be ready for a sweet little nap after :) The inside is cute, not overly large, but comfortable enough with a pretty good playlist and sometimes they have a DJ. The drinks are good too! Pro tip: order the spicy margarita (I forget the actual name) and enjoy it WITH the lime! I nibbled little bits of lime and sipped the drink. That was a whole experience for me and I think that others should be so fortunate to have such a tasty treat! Something about the tart lime, the spice they use, and the drink, can't quite put my finger on it, but it's a YES for me! Also tried the mimosa flight. Important that you stir them all first to get the full flavor. My favorite is the lavender. The food is dang near trash, the service is trasher!! I've yet to understand how people apply for a job they clearly want and then are horrible at that role!! I NEED servers to understand and hear me CLEARLY, you DO NOT get paid if there are no customers. So next time, you're having a bad day, please go in the restroom and get yourself together and then come back and serve the people with a pleasant attitude AND smile on your face. As far as I'm concerned be an actress for the day if that helps. Came to Sage for a friend's birthday brunch. Sitting was fine as she had reservations. Mind you, we were close to end of closing time (they accepted the reservation) but that's NO EXCUSE for running out of food items. Who's doing inventory? Just asking, or how about send someone to Kroger to get the missing items. People need to learn to be creative and think outside the box vs "we out of erthing". As I was saying, immediately hit us with, "last call for food is at 2:30p and we're out dang near everything". WTF...fine let me order the stuff no one wants. I ordered the shrimp and grits and asked if the tails could be removed. You would have thought I asked for someone to sign the Bill of Rights. A simple, "I'll put that request in with the kitchen" would have sufficed instead of telling me "what they don't normally do". I don't normally tip when I get bad service but yet when you're in large party you have to, so go figure. The Shrimp and grits were BASIC; where's the Gouda cheese (I was told it's a "sauce", NO!! I want to TASTE my cheese). I stuck with water in fear of "we don't have XYZ". Luckily the table company was great because the service nor the food was NOT. Oh I'll add this bit, a guest at the table was told "they were out of French Toast" (mind you it's bread, can the chef cook, asking for a friend). At least two orders of French Toast came out after this notice. . Then they served us plastic ware!!! Have you know anyone to eat S&Gs with plastic ware, not to self, start traveling with my own utensils. I'm all about cleanliness but come on, some dishes deserve proper cutlery. Then two guest arrived later and ordered French Toast. Wait, we thought you were out? Waitress: "Oh the cook made a mistake and you already had paced your order." Excuse, Miss Ma'am, where do they do that? Free Lesson here: come back to the table and notify the guest there was an error and ASK if they'd like to change their order. I promise you that will take your server experience far!! So I say, if you couldn't care less about exceptional service or food, this is your place!!! Just not for me; excuse me for expecting more out of some restaurants (fill in the blank).

Unfortunately, we were met with one of the rudest bartenders I've ever encountered. As soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender--a Caucasian woman with a short haircut whose name I unfortunately didn't get--greeted us with an attitude that immediately made us feel unwelcome. Instead of providing friendly service, she was dismissive, impatient, and rushed us through placing our to-go order. She informed us that we could not eat at the bar, which was completely fine. We agreed without any issue and ordered our food to go. However, when my food arrived, I simply opened the container to make sure my order was correct before leaving. She immediately rushed back over and aggressively said, "Didn't I tell you that you could not eat at the bar?" I hadn't taken a single bite--I was only checking my order. Rather than politely clarifying the policy, she continued to scold us and make us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. We still hadn't even received my friend's food, yet she seemed more interested in lecturing us than providing basic customer service. Once my friend's food finally arrived, we left as quickly as possible. As visitors in town celebrating Pride, we expected a welcoming atmosphere and basic courtesy. Instead, we experienced hostility, impatience, and a complete lack of professionalism. There's a huge difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers with disrespect, and this bartender clearly doesn't understand that distinction. The food may have been fine, but the service was so unpleasant that I would never return or recommend Bar Dogs to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat or have a drink. Customer service training is desperately needed.
