Our team members ordered a group order from this location on 02/27/25. The fries were old and undone. The food had no condiments on it and the order itself was inaccurate. The burgers had no seasoning. We contacted the store because we did spend a pretty good amount of money. They put me on hold for over 15 and never came back and hung up on me. I reached out to them online and they were unapologetic. It was just bring the food back and we will remake it. We sent pictures of the food. We were also on lunch. The order was for multiple people. If we brought it back later, how would the people get their food after work. The owner is usually professional and I asked was she there. They said no manager was available. So I saw a few pictures on their Instagram page and decided that I wanted to try them soon. Saturday the hubby was out and hungry, so we stopped in. This is a small location on Madison, but they pack a lot of flavor! We had the Super Deal. It comes with 10 Party Wings, Fries, 2 Beverages, plus an additional 10 wings for free! We paid $15! I had the Hot Lemon Pepper and hubby had the Regular Hot. This was my first time having lemon pepper on traditional hot wings and I must say that it is delicious. These may be the worst wings I've ever had! What's wrong with Memphis? I went in liking the place. The servers were extra friendly. They explained that they don't up charge for premium sides like fried green tomatoes. The bathroom was one of the cleanest I've ever seen in my life. That blue lemonade was awesome! The loaded fries and fried green tomatoes were pretty good, even though they could be better. My problem was that after waiting 15 minutes for our wings, they were served straight from the refrigerator! We sent them back, and they came back only warm in about 5 minutes. Then they were overcooked and dry. Here is my theory. They cook large batches of wings while they're slow. They store them in the refrigerator. When they get ordered, they pull some out of the fridge and drop them back in the fryer to warm them up. Then they get sauced to order. In our case, they forgot to warm them up before saucing them. The sauce was just ordinary store bought buffalo and it wasn't hot. Sad excuse for hot wings. read more

Last night was my second visit. The owners daughter (Marianna) I'm familiar with from my work at Catholic High School. She's always on me to stop by. Riko's Kickin Chicken has recently become my favorite spot to grab delicious wings in Memphis. They have amazingly priced wing specials and the wings are delicious and cooked to order. The wings are crispy and well sauced with a variety of flavors and flavor combinations to choose from. My mom ordered the fish when we went together and it was delicious. You can also get the fish prepared in the same sauce choices as the wings. My mom and I also shared a red velvet butter cake and it was decadent and delicious. We also ared a broccoli and cheese side, and while it was too salty for me, the flavor was nice. I had the shrimp burger and it took a little longer to get but very worth the wait. The seasoning was on point and they didn't skimp on the shrimp. I had shrimp in every bite. They haven't let me down yet! I'm always on a quest to find hot wings comparable to Ching's Hot Wings ( the mecca for me), and these hit pretty close to the bull's eye. Honey hot flavor is a little bit more ketchup-y (?) just a bit different, but it's hot and sweet. Whole wings here which is a requirement for me. Fries are okay, bleu cheese is fine, and on the days where I don't care about my sugar intake I'll get one of their sugary punches! Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to some hyperglycemia. I stumbled across Riko's a little bit by accident but wow, am I glad I did. Riko's is on a quiet stretch of Madison Ave. sandwiched between the Medical District and Midtown. The sign is really unassuming and the place is small, but you honestly can't beat the value! I got the 4 piece (2 thighs, 2 legs) for $3.99 (!!!) and some fried okra. The chicken also came with a roll and a drink (!!!). I honestly paid around $7 for a bomb meal. And I think the chicken is as good as Gus's tbqh. This is some real value. Apparently you have to know the owner to get your food when you order it. Lovely couple came in 10 minutes after me and somehow got their food first. I'm disheartened cause as a black man, I wanted to support this black owned business. I spent my money. Paid for extra everything cause apparently they charge you just to sweat in the building.
