Going to be honest - I was initially salty af about the $15 price point for a single bowl of carry-out ramen. I am pleased to report that my irritation was completely unfounded and had disappeared altogether by the time I finished my Traditional Tokyo bowl. Our order was ready within 15 minutes of calling it in and it was packaged very nicely for carry out so that nothing got soggy or spilled in transit. The portion size of my ramen bowl was enough for two meals and the soup itself was decadent. The pork belly was tender, the egg was cooked perfectly, the veggies and broth were super flavorful, and the noodles are made fresh in house. It left me feeling stuffed, satisfied, and a little guilty that I had initially questioned whether soup could be worth $15. The duck fat fried chicken appetizer was also excellent and you get 6-7 pieces in a serving. We will definitely be frequent customers! read more

This place will get you hooked! Tried it a couple weeks ago and have been craving it ever since. I've gotten the Hakata Tonnkotsu Ramen with pork belly twice, and it would be my go to meal, but Slurping Turtle is at Easton. That's the only drawback. Let's face facts. Easton isn't the easiest place to get in and out of quickly. Inside, the restaurant looks pretty typical, reminiscent of other Japanese restaurants I've eaten at around Columbus; darker lighting, clean lines with lots of squares, and a large sushi bar. The staff is very engaging, friendly, and accommodating. Got to Easton on a rare, springlike day in February, and my wife, who placed the order, told me it wouldn't be ready for 45 minutes. Normally, killing 45 minutes at Easton would be easy, but during a pandemic? No thanks. When I went in to see if I could socially distance myself at the bar for a Sake, the manager and staff made it happen, even though they were slammed. Oh, and the place isn't stuffy at all. The ramen noodles are really good. The service and customer service is crap. On more than one occasion our food has come out randomly with people in our group getting their appetizers and others getting their meals. They don't allow call ahead seating. They won't accept a reservation within two hours of your requested time. So you go there and stand and wait if their busy. Found myself working way too hard. I'm out. read more

The other day was my first time at The Slurping Turtle. Both the service and food was great! Our server (Barrukus I think) was amazing and very accommodating. He went over all the vegetarian options in great detail and even made me a fun drink! Awesome food and drinks & lots of options. Will definitely be going there again. read more

Food was ok but way to expensive!! I literally paid $14 for a glass of wine that cost $12 per bottle in the store. It was supposed to French but was clearly from the States. I don't appreciate being served the whine in my local store for an expensive per glass price. Kids Soup sort of taste like sewer water with hot sauce but the larger ramen soups were pretty good. The broth was good. The stir fry was ok but a super small portion. Did not fill half of the bowl and did not have any vegetables even though I ordered extra vegetables. The sushi was really good and worth it. The duck fried chicken was good and fresh. The Japanese soda was ok but very sweet. The Japanese beer taste like regular beer. I would not go here because they are way overpriced and the owner is greedy. But, if you like Roman try other restaurants. The food will probably be better and more authentic for a fraction of this price. read more

Slurping Turtle was amazing. Best Ramen I have ever had. I had the Spicy Miso Tonkotsu. It was slightly spicy, which I actually prefer to burning off my tongue. The flavors mixed together perfectly and the presentation was beautiful. l also had the spicy California roll which was also very delicious! The ramen and sake are the stars of this place. Both were outstanding and FWIW, the ramen is made on site. We also had three different rolls of sushi which were excellent. The name is very fitting. The service is definitely slow as a turtle. We placed our order and it took 46 mins to get our edamame. An hour and 5 mins to get the miso soup that came with our meal. The California bowl they said was a little spicy but it was actually very spicy.. not sure why they make it spicy, they should let people add spice to it. The ahi poke bowl is all rice and about 10 cubes of tuna. The manager said they would waive the appetizers and bring us some additional ones but then they put it on the bill. Odd. After waiting nearly 2 hours for our food we asked for a side of the spicy Mayo and they actually charged us for it. Unbelievable. We were told they just opened and were experiencing learning curves. If they want to stay in business I suggest bringing in a consultant to help get it together. Very disappointed. Nobody really enjoyed the meal and definitely not the experience. We were with 4 kids who were starving.. and PS no kids menu. Each kids meal was $20. Maybe give them a try after they get through their learning curves. read more

We were really excited to try this and came for my birthday! When we were sat it took our server 15 minutes to come to our table, we ordered an appetizer and it came out wrong so we had to wait about 10 minutes for him to come back and to tell him it was wrong. He went to fix it and we didn't get our correct order for about another 25 minutes. Once we finished our appetizer our server literally never came back and we sat there for about 30 minutes before we had to ask the hostess for our check because we had just been sitting there so long and never even got to order our entrees. I have been to this location a few times, all memorable, food has always been excellent, but this lats time, if I had gotten the service I had gotten the first time, I would easily state, I'd never go back. I went today with a couple freinds, that I had raved about this place too, (we all, also work in the industry) walked in, took a few minutes to be greeted , no issue, it was decently busy. No tables available, accept in the back room, which we asked for, then staff was like o yea, I suppose we could sit you their. We needed a high chair and booster, it took asking 3 times over 20 minutes to be able to sit our kids down. we sit. Waiter came over, we ordered apps immediately, and drinks imediatly. Some of us got drinks, other, it took asking a few times about the drink, and still forgotten, to the point I went up to the bar, to find a manager to get a freind their drink after 20 minutes, and multiple mentions from the server that it's comeing. It wouldn't have unless I got up like i did. So we get our food (soup came out last, pretty sure it's suppose to come out first as an app, but whatever) however I didn't receive my duck fat fried chicken, I raised question , and was questioned that it came out on the side, 2 of us ordered it, 1 got it, on the side, I got mine in my dish (which was not received.) server brought us a receipt showing they rang it in, and they apologized, "it's not my fault, this is the kitchens falt, I'm a professional server, just to show you, this wasn't on me." Prints out and shows us the receipt, my response was, I don't care. I'm not placing blame, I just want what I ordered. Why is someone placeing blame on another ? This team should be one unit, so fucking poor and discussting. What a poor outlook. So very very poor. We were here for a few hours.... And hour could have been shaved off. Half way thru I set my card out to pay, kids were getting grumpy, card out, server touched back 3! Times before dropping a check, a check should be dropped off half way thru a meal, for convince. Car was at the end of the table for 30 minutes, still yet to receive deserts that were ordered. See came back, mixed up checks, didn't know who ordered what, finally figured it out. We payed, he still had yet to drop off deserts, I physically had to go find him, at the server station makeing jokes with staff, I said behind you, he said did you need something else? I said yes, the desertsy freinds ordered a half hour ago. He said you didn't get those ? I said no we did not, even tho you touched our table 3 times in between and didn't ask or make sure we got them. So poor. Worst resteraunt exsperience in such a long time, from a self proclaimed professional. Please teach your staff customer service , I really enjoyed and raved about this place. But I will hold my toung from speaking it's name for a very long time. Also mind they were out of 2 items and 3 alcohols we tryed to order. Such a poor poor exsperience. Our bill would have been around 300 dollars. They comped half, I'm in the industry, I don't want comps, I want the buisness to strive, but it wasn't even worth a 20 dollar visit. Amazing ramen! The DFFC ramen was some of the best ramen I've had in a long time. Hint: Get the chili paste/oil on the side to adjust it to your own spice level. Great atmosphere, service and food. A must go to spot for everyone. read more

We stopping in while shopping and had a great lunch! The Bao buns were great (pork belly was our favorite). The sushi was great too, we tried the Spider roll and the Red dragon, which I highly recommend. Didn't get a chance to try the Ramen, but definitely will go back to get some. Normally not the type to write a review but this was the absolute worst service we've ever experienced! The hostess seated us at a dirty table and had the bus boy wipe our table with a little napkin where he pushed all the dirty food off the table and into the seat and floor. We decided to stay anyway, even after five minutes without anyone coming to our table. We order the pork belly bao and that came out wrong. We modified our ramen to include extra bean sprouts for one and the other one no mushroom and pickled ginger. It took more than 30 minutes for our food to come out only for it to be completely wrong--the one with extra bean sprouts had no veggies, and the other one, had everything we asked not to have. Getting the waiter's attention was difficult because we couldn't even get our drinks refilled. After 15 minutes, we finally got ahold of him where he offered to remake it. Note that we barely touched our ramen. A man, which I assumed was the manager, came up to ask what I ordered and walked away with no apologies whatsoever. It took ANOTHER 25 minutes and our food did not come out even though it was their mess up (you would think they'd get it out ASAP)--so we asked for the check and for the food to be packed up. They charged an additional fee for extra beansprouts and we weren't expecting a discount but they charged for extra beansprouts that we didn't get?? Not to mention, we haven't even received our remake yet! We ended up leaving after the waiter had told us for the second time that our food will be out soon. We got up to leave when he told us the food was ready and was MADE FOR HERE. We saw them dump the ramen into a to go bowl...and needless to say, that was the last straw. SERIOUSLY? How are they operating?? To make matters worse, NO APOLOGIES?!? We will not return and we will definitely inform all of friends and family of such a terrible experience. read more
