A phenomenal sushi experience right in the heart of the Short North. Great atmosphere, expansive selection of rolls, sashimi and nigiri, and excellent cocktails! A perfect spot for a nicer evening out or sushi night with friends.

Made a reservation for a Saturday dinner. There's street parking but goodluck with that, there is a paid parking though across the street. Sushi and sashimi's were fresh, especially the sweet shrimp. Agedashi Tofu is a fave of mine and it was cooked nicely and was good. Soft shell crab appetizer was so-so, the breading was so thick it masked the crab taste. The downside was the service. Sooo slow.. we wanted to order more sweet shrimp sashimi it took forever we had to just cancel. There were 3 sushi chef but food was just slow.

We were able to do a walk-in on a Saturday night before a show at the Garden Theatre. They said they had some cancellations. Lucky us. Miso, salad, gyoza, Udon. It was all good and flavorful. Our server did us a solid to hurry up our order so we would make our 7:00 show. Thanks for that. Nice place if you are in the SN.

Well delivery with ubereats took 2 hours, so it may be time to switch delivery service , that's down one star. I'm home so the surrounding is cozy and I get to eat on the couch so go ambiance. The sushi was delicious. The roll that we got was amazing and the fish was so fresh. The only thing is that I asked for lemon inside the roll and I didn't get it. We'll go again.

Shrimp Lollipops (Special, not on the menu yet!)

Absolutely loved this restaurant! My friends and I went and had lunch on Saturday after this place came up on instagram and needless to say we were not disappointed! This is easily the best restaurant for sushi in Columbus! This restaurant has reopened after a recent renovation/remodel. Everything from the food, service, and ambiance were excellent! The sushi was fresh and so tasty! Highly recommend the shrimp lollipops, 1126 roll, salmon family roll, and sakura roll.

Located in the Short North off of High street this sushi place used to be packed and hard to get a reservation. Its a little easier to get a table now but I still suggest getting a reservation. As far as the space: its a long narrow restaurant. With a front room and back room. The front has a long bar with seats leading up to the sushi station. Opposite of the bar are booths. At the end of the room there are three or four stairs leading to a back room with more seating. The colors are muted.. the vibe is cozy. The cocktail menu is limited however the bar seems nicely stocked, so iI bet they can accommodate requests. The menu has a lot of choices. They have hot and cold appetizers, they have hibachi They has sashimi and sushi... oh so much sushi. It was quite hard to pick a roll as they all looked delicious. We ended up getting six or seven rolls, so they came out on a boat platte, which was cute. We even added sone basic rolls later. Service was great and added to the experience. The booth was comfortable. We had a party of four, each had one or two cocktails and dinner came to 250 including tip.

First time here. More expensive than other Cbus sushi options. The rolls were good not great. We also ordered the sushi and sashimi platter for two $45 (not pictured). Could only eat a couple of pieces it wasn't quite right. Our server asked and we said we didn't like it.

Great option in Columbus for fresh sushi! The fish was delicious. The hot meal was solid as well, sometimes the hot meals lack at sushi places in my opinion. I highly recommend the Sake Mimosa if you love mimosas but can't stand how sweet they are sometimes. It was bomb. I'm gonna have to start making them myself! Quick service and not too busy for a weekend night here! I can see myself coming back to try out happy hour, it seems like a great deal if you love sushi!

    Miso Soup

Very disappointed, which I am very sad about. I have been looking forward to trying 1126 for so long and had heard such good things. I ordered the chicken hibachi which started off with miso soup. The miso soup was cold when it came out. Then the chicken hibachi came out and I enjoyed it at first, until I found an eyelash in my food. I know for some people they are able to continue eating their food but this just really grossed me out. I told the waitress very quietly and politely and she just responded with oh I am sorry. I didnt hear anything from her about it after which I was disappointed about because most restaurants would let you know they have told the staff or cooks or are remaking your food. Finally, towards the end of dinner, flies began flying all around our table. I counted about 5 or 6 flying around my seat. Overall, I was very let down by the experience especially after being so excited to try for the first time.

Updating my rating to 5 stars. I love this place! It's become one of my favorite date night spots. The food is 10/10 and the ambiance is great. I'm loyal to the Colorful Roll (add cream cheese) and tonight I tried the Fire Roll which was out. of. this. world. The service is also wonderful.

I'm updating my review. The sushi rolls here are fantastic -- artistic and delicious. We ordered several rolls (galaxy roll, blue crab roll, dynamite Roll, flying dragon roll, etc., and were not disappointed with any of them. The day we came here the service was a bit slow but that's because they had a huge influx of customers and the server always remained in good cheer. I'd recommend ordering the sushi rolls here to the nigiri.

Looks are deceiving. These are large, filling, delicious rolls.
    Summi A.

Generous sized rolls, friendly service, and quality sushi make this a WIN! We were all feeling the chill from the cold winter weather so we started with bowls of miso soup. Nice and soothing start to the meal. We ordered the Spicy Maki Combo - Spicy tuna roll, spicy yellowtail roll and spicy salmon roll. The rolls had a small amount of tempura flakes in them which did absolutely wonders for the texture and made them so much more filling - I wish all places added that in maki rolls. Usually maki rolls are not particularly large or filling, but these definitely WERE. We also ordered the Sakura roll and one more, but I can't remember what it was. All 3 rolls were generous in size (which was a surprise to us) leading me to feel like this place offered good value for what you spend. We'll be back for sure.

I love this sushi place. It's on high street and it has SOOOO many options. I always try to get something different and it never disappoints. I've never had to wait for seating which is great and the atmosphere is very intimate since it is a smaller restaurant. I will be coming back here for sushi!

The food comes out pretty quick considering they are making the sushi by order. I love their sushi options. The edamame stood out because they generous with the flaky salt, which I personally loved. Sometimes places hold back, but this was well seasoned. 3. Customer Service (2.5/5) This is where things started to fall apart a bit. I stood at the front for about 12 minutes before being acknowledged, and the restaurant was nearly empty. I had to make eye contact with someone in the kitchen just to be seated. Service at the table wasn't much better. It took about 15 minutes just to get my drink order taken (which I had to flag the waitress down to order), and by that time I was ready to order my whole meal. I ordered an appetizer along with a couple of sushi rolls and some sake. I'm not sure if the waitress wasn't thinking about it, but she brought my rolls out before she even brought out my appetizer or my drink. The inconsistency was noticeable and took away from the experience. 4. Overall Taste (4.5/5) The food absolutely carried! I ordered a sweet potato roll and the Hoonie Roll, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. Both were fresh, flavorful, and really well-balanced. Paired with the edamame and sake, everything came together nicely. 5. Overall Experience (3.9/5 ) Taking everything into account, the experience lands just under a 4. The food and atmosphere were strong, but the service created a noticeable disconnect. It's definitely one of those places where you'd go back for the food, but you'd hope the service catches up next time.

We were there around noon on a Sunday so they were not very busy but that was okay with us. I had made a Resy reservation because they recommended it. The interior is decorated very well and the light is slightly dimmed for a nice ambiance! They have really nice, and solid, dinnerware and glassware. We started with the crab rangoon tarts, 3 in an order, and the edamame. The tart shells were so buttery and the filling was the usual luscious crab mix. The edamame comes with salt or spicy, we chose salt. There was enough for all 3 of us. The drinks we chose were the Gin & Tea and the Lychee Martini. Both were delicious and the foam on both were handshaken and so creamy. The Gin & Tea was a surprise winner and I highly recommend it. We ordered 5 rolls. The Naruto, Center, Fantastic, Tiger and Dancing Salmon. I love Naruto rolls without the rice and nori, instead wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber. This one was well made and stayed together when using my chopsticks. It allows the fish to shine! The Center Roll had spicy tuna and a topping of avocado, masago and spicy mayo. It's what you would expect and well done. The Tiger Roll has a mix inside and on top. Each bite was a little different and delicious. The Fantastic Roll was just that! It had a lobster salad inside and slightly scorched Japanese scallops on top. The smokiness of the scallop was surprising and delicate and complemented the sweeter lobster salad. The Dancing Salmon roll had eel inside and salmon outside. I'm not a huge eel fan but this roll I ate and enjoyed. I hadn't had good restaurant sushi since NYC and this was up there with it. Also, I prefer Hokkaido because it is truly in all you can eat not because I want to eat a ton of food. It just is that I don't have to be conscious about the number of plates. I'd take from the conveyor belt. Also, there are more options besides sushi. The sushi itself was mid grade at best. I wouldn't call it good but it wasn't bad. And after that soft opening with a regular menu, this week they introduced an all-you-can-eat menu as well. So of course I got there as soon as I could. Quite an extensive menu for AYCE too, though not as big as their standard one. And full of interesting stuff. Nigiri, raw rolls, cooked rolls, deep-fried rolls, specialty rolls, apps, ramen, hibachi, and more. I wanted to try everything, but even though I arrived hungry I just couldn't. Maybe 25 years ago I could have eaten twice as much, and when the students hear about this they will clean them out. It's just down from where Japanese Oriental Restaurant used to be, and I used to save up and pig out there with my friends. Now I eat a bit less, but I still figure I had about $60 worth of sushi for $30. I started with seaweed salad- big portion, and very tasty. Fresh and a little spicy. Then unagi- two big pieces, excellent, tender and flavorful. Then maguro- good, melt in your mouth. Next I tried their "dragon eggs"- deep fried avocado with kani and tuna. OMG. Again, a big portion (two whole avocados, halved and stuffed. Finally, two big rolls: the High Street roll with spicy tuna, and the Seashore roll with salmon, kani, and more. Wow. Big, and tasty. Best sushi in town? No, but up there. Really good. Service was great. They open at noon, at least on weekdays, and I was the first one in. The decor is cool- it's an old house, and they have made it modern but with vintage touches. The bathrooms and waiting area are super cool. There's a bar off to one side, a sushi bar in back, and lots of sleek but comfy seating. Also a huge patio and courtyard out front. Free street parking out front (except during rush hour.) Also a small lot in back. Get here. If you like sushi, or other Japanese food, you'll like it. If you like a bargain, you'll love it. $27, yes, not cheap; but for sushi it's not bad, and for AYCE sushi it is a steal. Atmosphere was modern and soothing. You can get ramen, cooked dishes like tempura, salads, all kinds of things. There's a full bar as well, and areas with cozy or romantic seating. The design was actually pretty cool, you could eat with a group or sit up at a bar by yourself and feel very comfortable either way. The sushi menu itself includes more traditional Japanese sushi, which honestly is what I'd recommend from the AYCE menu. They even have sashimi, which is cut thinly- which is fine, if you want more you can just order more, that prevents excessive waste. Most AYCE places wouldn't offer sashimi anyway. But the traditional sushi, sashimi and rolls were the ones we liked best. The more Americanized rolls with the alternative (non-nori) wraps were not as delicious, in our opinion. We couldn't figure out what it was, whether it was the wraps or an ingredient in the chopped sushi roll fillings. But there's a ton on this menu that was good. Will eat here again. Oh and a short note on large groups- maybe this is not the spot to go with a massive group? It's more of an intimate dining experience, although they do seem to allow big groups. I only mention this because I saw a negative review about slow service for large groups before we went and then the evening we went a group of maybe 10-12 college students impatiently waited by the door to be seated, even though the servers were polite and had to wait for multiple tables to clear at the same time to push together seat such a large group in a smallish restaurant- the patrons kept coming in and trying to sit at random tables before it was their turn. If you have a massive group I'd say split into multiple tables or maybe choose a different, larger or chain restaurant, like El Vaquero or Buffalo Wild Wings? Anyway I hope they left a good tip because the workers were very professional and the group was very large and very impatient.
