Placed order on Grubhub & 20 mins later I was holding the BEST italian beef I had ever had. It was everything a beef should be. Bread was steamy on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside, piled with beef and giardinera.... and even MORE giardinera on the side! What are you, mindreaders? I thought it couldn't get any better, but they really outdid themselves with the chocolate peanut butter shake. This unassuming neighborhood hot dog stand WILL be the death of me. Oh, and I forgot to tip on my online order and the delivery guy shrugged it off - classy! I ordered the Slim Burger about a month ago while I was babysitting nearby. I have now moved to the neighborhood and cannot stop thinking about that burger. Do yourself a favor and just order it. My roommate and I got Slim's delivered. first off, the shakes are pretty good. I had the nutella and my roommate had chocolate. Had we not ordered the "bakery fresh brownie" I would give Slim's 4 stars. Unfortunately we did order the "bakery fresh brownie". Why is "bakery fresh brownie" in quotation marks you may ask? Well the answer is simple, their brownie is nothing more than a processed brownie from a factory in New Jersey made by Daisy's. We ate at Slims recently and were very pleased! I had a garden salad with the homemade chicken strips which were awesome. The salad was fresh with great ingredients. My fiancé got a burger and fries. It was delicious and he loved it plus the prices are great. We dined in Slims but there were constantly guys picking up getting ready for deliveries so we will definitely order again with delivery soon! read more

This place has got fantastic selection of hot dogs and sandwiches. easy ordering online and special orders are not taken lightly. I ordered 3 different types of Chicago dogs (1 w/o pickles or relish, 2 without relish and 1 w/everything) and they executed the order to perfection. For me it's close by, fast and friendly service and they do a bunless Slim's burger wrapped in lettuce. For all you paleo / keto types out there, this is the thing to get. This place is fantastic! I've gotten delivery from Slim's quite a bit, and it never disappoints! Hotdogs and burgers are pretty standard, but higher quality than other hot dog joints. Great chili for the chili dogs! Spicy PoBoy is definitely a standout! It's an unusual addition to this kind of menu, and it's very well-done! Highly recommend if you like your sandwich with a kick. They also make a mean chicken po'boy sandwich, homemade soups and some delicious milkshakes. Good delivery as well, always arrives fast and hot. Price-wise you can't do much better in the city. Carry out burgers always seem like a good idea and then the execution is lacking. Not in this case- the burgers arrived as if they came right off the grill- juicy and flavorful. A classic Chicago hotdog and beef joint. The staff is friendly, the place is clean and the food is served quick. Not much more you can request from this kind of place. This place is awesome! Super fast service, reasonable prices, and great food. Chicken pita was excellent. Cheeseburger with a pretzel bun was a nice touch and on special. They have the awesome Coke machine which allows for mixing some fun drinks. Kids meal was the right size and the right price. We've overpaid for kids meals and this was a nice touch. I've ordered food for delivery twice from Slims. The first time I got an Italian beef sandwich and it was good. Yesterday I ordered a gyros and it was awful. The meat was dripping grease and the pita was totally saturated with grease. I have been told by three people that if you include a tip with your order, thinking it would go to the delivery person, you are wrong. The owner keeps the tips. I have been in here several times and really like the place. I think the cheeseburgers are what have me coming back for more. As soon as you walk in you feel welcomed. I am generally greeted by one of the brothers that own the place. Prices are reasonable. I love the curly fries. This place is a step above most for the following reasons: delivery, hot dogs that aren't so massive and buried in 3 inches of toppings you feel like you're choking (looking at you Byron's), curly fries, and the fact that the Peppermint milkshake blew my mind (way, way better than Margie's Candies' milkshakes).
