Add the green apple coleslaw for a great crunchy texture, the yellow mustard to add the perfect vinegary flavor & you have an awesome meal. This comes w/fries cooked to an excellent crunchy texture. They have a pretty extensive menu but this sandwich was so dam good I'm sure I will order it again. Yolanda was the server in Falcons. She did an awesome job being the only person working the dining room at the time. Look at this menu selection. There are so many items but you know how it is when you find something that is for me near perfection you know anything else you order will not live up to what you had. You will be left thinking that you had stayed w/the original option. Like they say once you've had the best why try the rest. I have a cousin who grew up within walking distance of Budacki's so it's a huge part of his life story, even after he moved to the suburbs. That said, he tends to take me or my older brother here whenever either one of us come to visit from Texas. It's safe to say that we share his immense love for the nearly 50-year-old hole in the wall. Up until Thursday, I had two visits. For my most recent one, I ordered the Letter A , or the red hot combo. Aside from a pair of what I believe are the best hot dogs in the world, the meal comes with fresh cut fries and a drink. I confess that I didn't get a good look on the price, but I can assure you that you get your money's worth. Each of the red hots was made fresh and specific to my request. I wanted them dragged through the garden, and the kitchen staff delivered. What I sank my teeth into are a Vienna beef decorated with a tomato, sport peppers, a pickle spear, onions and hints of salt and mustard. All of which are held together in a soft bun. The dogs were paired with a delicious, abundant amount of fries. They were so good that I finished them even before the tube steaks themselves. In Chicago, it's nearly a law to keep your red hots free of ketchup and on your fries, but I ate my long taters without ketchup. That's how tasty they were. Before I forget, I should mention that there's an outdoor dining area for customers to enjoy their food at. The neighborhood Budacki's is in has gone through several changes, but the restaurant has withstood the test of time. Sadly, however, the heir to the business, Jae Lee, recently passed away. And this review is dedicated to his memory.

I ordered the gyro special it comes with fries and a can of soda and an extra side of tzatziki sauce, because I like to dip my fries in it. The price of the combo was really good, but that extra tzatziki sauce was $1.55, ouch. It's nice to see people eating at this hour and it looked like they were enjoying their meal. I took my order to go and it stay plenty warm by the time I arrived home. The gyro was wrapped well. As I was unwrapped it, it smelled so good, I immediately started eating. Then I remembered I needed to take a picture. The pita was super soft that it started to fall apart on me, no big deal. The meat was tender and tzatziki sauce was really good. Mild garlic with faint taste of dill. It reminded me of an old school gyro from a place that I grew up with. I would definitely go back. Especially since they are open late.

The burgers are still great, and I've generally had positive experiences. However, during a busy morning pickup, the customer service felt disappointing. I stood at the counter waiting for my order while multiple employees made eye contact with me and walked by, but no one asked if I needed help or was picking up an order. One employee even handled my order without checking whether it belonged to me. After waiting for several minutes, I finally asked about my order. The response felt rushed and dismissive, with the focus being on how busy things were rather than helping a customer who had been standing there waiting. I completely understand that restaurants get busy, especially in the morning rush. My frustration isn't that the food took time it's that I felt ignored. A simple "We'll be right with you" or "Are you picking up an order?" would have made a huge difference. Instead, they thought I was an Uber driver that's why I was being ignored. The food is still excellent, but this experience left me feeling unwelcome compared to my previous visits.
