This place was pretty awful. Long wait without a lot of customers. They messed up our order two times. The burger itself was flavorless, dry, and the lettuce was brown and wilting. The cashier was totally lost and didn't know the menu at all. I would not recommend this or go back. read more

Haven't been to Slim's in a while..... loved it before and still love it. The black bean burger is so good. Not to many places have a good vegetarian burger. Don't eat meat but my friend just had the slim burger and he almost fell off of his seat....hahahaha. Finally I found my perfect local hot dog joint that's friendly, yummy, cheaper and arguably better than Portillo's. Until they changed their prices! I came in yesterday looking forward to my typical Friday night cheap dinner and a hot dog and cheese fries went from less than $6 to over $8. I guess they upped their prices about two weeks ago. Same friendly staff, same quality food, same convenient location. So the price is still worth it. But I do miss the cheap price tag! read more

Great burger for a 'fast food' style burger. I haven't dove into the chicken po boi fully yet but first bit wasn't bad. Next time I'll try their fries. I think the bacon could have been crispier so next time I'll order that extra crispy but otherwise good. Patty's seem fresh and not the cheap frozen kind. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries. The burger was huge and the fries were just right! It took a hour and some for delivery but it was definitely worth the wait, plus I had a $2 off coupon which made the meal a little under $12 perfect! When I went to grab my food from the delivery guy he was dressed in a nice suit, I felt like I ordered from a 5 star restaurant lol. Such a great neighborhood spot! My husband and I used to live a block away and would always go when we wanted some quick food. They're usually pretty busy, but that's a good thing! No bueno - rude, disrespectful, and uncaring. I felt like I was in a pre-school cafeteria and the employee at the counter was caddy and childish. One should not ask questions, you'll be interrupting their facebooking or whatever she was doing on her phone. Never have I seen eyes roll to the back of one's because I asked about the size of the beverage cups. How dare I expect them to do their job. They are in the service industry after all, so long as they don't have to service. Truly an unpleasant experience. The place doubles as a daycare for its employees, by the way. Another patron who sitting inside got fed up with ruckus and bagged up his food and left, as we should have done, because of the disruption. Perhaps the owner should install a ball pit. I've ordered food from Slims a few times, and they're pretty decent for a place that delivers hamburgers and hotdogs (You have to expect a somewhat soggy bun any place you order these kinds of foods from) but their food was always good, and really cheap so we kept returning to them. All future orders will only include their amazing curly fries and milkshakes though. STICK TO THE CURLY FRIES AND MILKSHAKES. We ordered burgers and fries from Slims on Memorial day, and while the burgers were fine, I was puking in the bathroom for 2 hours from the food posoning their hotdog gave me. Ordered delivery online - easy. Delivery was hot and fairly fast. The Slim burger with italian beef and hot peppers on a pretzel bun, it was FANTASTIC. A must get. Let your taste buds convince your clogged arteries to forgive you. It's worth it. Curly fries were good. We also had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich which was only OK - it's why I'm docking Slims a star. The chicken was charred a bit too much and dry. Also they forgot the bacon. It was super hot though - almost unbearably so if you only like moderate heat. I'd pass on this one and try something else next time. Update. Tried their homemade chicken tenders. Another miss. They were small and thin but worst is done were burnt and some were clearly underdone and chewy. Ick. Update 2: I'm struggling here... easy online delivery is going downhill. Sometimes the website doesn't allow orders to be submitted, even when they open. Also my last 2 delivery orders were wrong. I paid extra for upgrades that weren't there and wrong items. I'm starting to get a bit frustrated. I'll probably give one more try but if I get another dud delivery may have to move on. read more

WHY OH WHY !!!! I went here for the first time since new management took over and boy am I soo disappointed. They changed the food item I get which was the jumbo polish now its now even jumbo its like the size of a hotdog! The cashier was like -what can i get for you- in a "why am i here kind of tone" they didnt even do my request I asked for which is NO MUSTARD(it comes with mustard and grilled onion but i hate mustard). Slim's is great! Not only is their food really good, but so is their service. I stopped in this past Friday to pick up my dinner and was impressed with what I saw. A customer asked for a cup for water for his son, their water dispenser was broken, so the employee gracefully gave him a bottled water at no charge. Had lunch here with the wife today. She had a hot dog w/ketchup only (yeah yeah we know but this is a free country) with fries and I had a Chicago dog w/everything on it and we also had an order of the fresh cut fries and a mint shake. Very good inexpensive lunch!! Really like the fries. Fast, friendly service! I would like to try some other items on the menu when we are in the area again. The only thing that could use improving ....is that they need wider straws, the shakes as I mentioned are good but very thick and you can't suck up the shake through the straw, so please get wider straws for the shakes! read more

The two hot dogs were good and so were the fries. But the chocolate mint shake! It was thick and the mint did not overpower the chocolate flavor. Very, very tasty. They put it in a good sized cup, but I could have went for more of that. All of my order was for less than ten dollars, and that was a great deal. I went in on a Saturday afternoon, which must be the regular meeting time for fantasy game nerds; the few booths were packed with guys playing Yu-Gi-Oh! with trading cards.
