It's hard to find bad BBQ in Texas. SLIMS is delicious. Chopped bbq sandwich was amazing. Tons of meat on this sandwich and the plate that my husband got. We all left stuffed. Outdoor seating only. It's a little hot to sit outside, but they have plenty of shade and some misting machines to help keep you cool. It was totally worth it. The yelp app is confused on the address.

I'm gonna bump this up to five stars even though I'm nowhere near Fredericksburg Texas. I was very impressed with the quality of their food. Adios for now Slims BBQ. Keep doing what you're doing and you continue selling out every day no doubt.

This place was soo good and they gave us so much food for a good price. Everything was delicious.

Nice ribs. It's the smoke rings for me.

Wife and I got food poisoning after eating the sauce. It tasted a bit off but we thought it was their recipe. Ruined our vacation.

We ordered the brisket and pork ribs. The brisket was dry and the pork ribs were a bit chewy.

Awesome brisket. BBQ sandwiches are exactly what you expect them to be. Very good sauce too. I will be back for sure.

Good 'cue! Appreciate it not being on the crazy downtown strip. We had a bit of everything. Barbacoa was a highlight.

Very delicious BBQ sandwich. Hot, good amount of BBQ sauce, and the jalapeños are spicy! Definitely one of the best ones!

We had beef street tacos , chicken street tacos and an order of the Tostitos Machete. Everything tasted great but the selection of salsas takes it to the next level. However, they will charge you for a cup of water and there is a $.40 service fee which I cannot explain. At least there was no credit card fee, but the tip screen was waiting. To be honest, their bacon and egg basic taco is pretty average, nothing special, but their red spicy sauce definitely took it up a notch. Their potato sausage and egg taco barely had any discernible sausage to it. It's the communal salsa bar that really makes the tacos extra special. They do have a fountain drink station, bottled soda on ice and a pot of coffee by the order window. You can get quite a variety of mixed drinks like margaritas along with numerous beer choices, although no local beers. Because of the value and sauces, I would definitely come back to this spot again. And just so you know, they do not have a public bathroom here and they are closed Monday. Ten informative photos to fill in what words miss.

Lots of families and people walking around with their pets. Very pet friendly community. We stopped in here to grab a bite to eat. We had some very good chips and salsa. Unfortunately, this experience felt less like a restaurant opening and more like a dress rehearsal no one stopped. First problem: location confusion. We went to what turned out to be their second spot--which, crucially, was not called Nurys on the sign. Same ownership, new space, old identity crisis. Walking in felt like entering a building that hadn't yet decided what it wanted to be when it grew up. The lingering aroma? A strange duet of fish, antiseptic, and industrial cleaning agents. Not hunger-inducing. More "urgent care with a fryer." There was no one there, which made sense--it was between brunch and lunch--but somehow the wait for food felt disproportionately long for what arrived. What arrived, sadly, was mediocrity wearing a Tex-Mex costume. They seemed to be aiming for Tex-Mex but landed somewhere closer to Tex-Flex--stretching flavors thin until they snapped. The barbacoa was fatty in a way that suggested less "slow-cooked tradition" and more "glistening regret." It didn't taste authentic, or even especially intentional. Just heavy. The guacamole--perhaps the most unforgivable offense--was bad. Guacamole is avocados, salt, lime, and love. That's it. This had none of the above. The waitstaff wasn't rude, exactly--just possessed by the clear energy of people who would prefer you to finish quickly so they could resume their real lives. Hospitality should feel like an invitation, not a countdown. Now, maybe the original Nurys is wonderful. I hope it is. But if that's the case, why open a second location only to phone it in? Expansion should mean excellence multiplied, not care divided. There are too many good places in Fredericksburg doing things right to settle for something half-hearted. This one wasn't terrible--it was worse. It was forgettable. And that's the real disappointment.
