Did a dinner take-out from Bill's BBQ...this place has been around for over 40 years and is a local favorite. I went with the 3-meat sampler dish with chicken, pulled pork, and brisket with beans and potato salad as the sides. Overall...the meal was OK. The chicken was good, the pulled pork had nice flavor, and the brisket was just OK, not much bark or flavor. I enjoyed the potato salad but wasn't a big fan of the beans.

Don't let the outside of the building stop you from going in! The meat is delicious!!! The staff are genuinely kind and helpful. The decor is fun to look at. This was a fun stop.

Service is very efficient . You walk in and let them know what type of meat you want, then you self serve your sides. I ordered the brisket plate. It was very tender and tasty. The sides were what you'd come to expect from Texas bbq.

Wow! Fantastic BBQ served in a casual but, nice atmosphere. We tried the 1 meat plate... pulled pork, beans and potato salad. Also the brisket, coleslaw, and potato salad. Our son tried the regular pulled pork sandwich with sides and let me tell you it was a large size. All of the food we tried was very good, cooked/smoked perfectly and on point! The service was casual, order at the counter and sit inside or outside. The owners were very friendly and down home folks.

Was on the scout for some Hill country bbq. Came across this place just as the signal returned and Yelp became available. Technically I had already eaten lunch, so I shared a quarter pound of brisket and one rib. Both were "fall off the bone" in terms of tenderness but on the dry side and crumbly. A little overdone? Had to use sauce. Speaking of the sauce,it has a robust flavor, heavy on the vinegar side. I liked it okay. You help yourself to the fixins near the register and bread is on the table. If you come on Friday, they offer cabrito. Dining room is fun with dear heads lining the walls. Average cue.

Brisket sandwich and coleslaw were worth going to Kerrville. The staff added to a wonderful experience. Take the time to stop!

Very good Texas BBQ. Love the authentic atmosphere. A little pricey but well worth it for the quality of the food.

The hotel I'm staying at has a breakfast buffet that's number 2 on the list. I can't tell you how wrong Yelp actually is on a recent Sunday. I put my big boy Wranglers on and headed off to sway the internet into a different direction. I've had plenty of Bourdain moments in my life. Eat local, get the cream sauce (no actual cream sauce exists here). Have a drink in a empty bar (they don't serve alcohol). Sent the GF in to secure a table while I found a parking space (PACKED LOT). Once seated in a two top service was pleasant but there were a few flaws. Like, toast without jelly offered. Don't think I've ever seen anyone dip white bread into refried beans as an alternative. I opted for Migas sorta based on our servers recommendation. I mean, they offer Eggs Sardou. And, brisket, Tex-Mex staples, biscuits, and homemade Blue Corn Tortillas??? Plus, sauce game off the charts with unbelievable red and green salsas. Ok, enough teasing here's the deets. My Migas were interesting but missed the advertised Chorizo as the menu described. Also, interesting that they top the dish with an enchilada sauce. GF chose the Brisket omelette with eggs and cheese mixture. Happy girl minus the lack of jelly offered. And this is where it got real. We sat next to many local families; discussing city issues (Ingram proper) which we overheard. Single men dining all the way to just couples like us. We finally threw in the napkins and headed to the counter to pay only to learn that someone had already paid our bill. This IS the restaurant you need to visit!

Anyway, it was a glorious day after 3 days of good soaking rain, which we badly needed in the hill country. The food has always been top notch grade here. The service is very efficient and professional. As for the ambience, the inside is bright and well lighted but to be impressed, you have to go outside. Since it was a glorious day of bright sunshine, coolish temperature and a very friendly breeze blowing, we had a time walking around the area. The surrounding area was lush and very green after the few days of rain! We had a lovely time taking pictures. My brother in law was very surprised about the camel story behind Camp Verde. Camels were used as experimental animals to carry provisions in the 1850's. They were stationed in this area. Unfortunately, the experiment failed because the soldiers hated the camels, who had a reportedly nasty disposition and soldiers ended up with motion sickness because of the animal's unusual walking gait. If you want to visit the area, now is a good time before the summer heat gets here. FYI, if you like Christmas, the gift shop here gets an early start in October! If you like Christmas decorations like my wife, come here and shop. They really fill up the gift shop with goodies!

What an amazing experience. The hostesses were super nice and welcoming. Our server, Shannon, was top-freaken-notch! And the chef was as professional as he was nice. The food was incredible! The best truffle fries I have ever had, and I've had quite a few variations. The sandwiches were delicious and my husband said it was the best split pea soup he's ever had. Definitely our favorite eatery! Side note, the buildings and grounds are breathtaking. We will be coming back. I will also be bringing my daughter and grandson when they come for a visit in April.
