    Kids combo

We were in a tight spot...on our way to Costco and hungry. Not a good combo. Slim chickens recently opened, hadn't tried it yet, and it was in the same parking lot so we gave it a shot. My son and I got chicken strips and my wife got the dill chicken sandwich. The sandwich was better than the strips, that much was clear. The sauce options were pretty cool and they had a ton to choose from. We didn't do any fancy sides but they had quite the selection from specialty Mac and cheeses to fried okra. The menu was surprisingly pretty large. They have a lot to offer and we only scratched the surface. That said, what we got was good. Nothing too grand but it did the job. The sandwich meal was a much better value so keep that in mind. While it's not my go to chicken joint if it's there it's worth going to check out. I think they have more to offer than what we got in our dash to save $1,000 on a hungry Costco haul. Eat up Boise

Wrap with grilled chicken + tomatoes, with side salad

We've eaten here so many times and I keep forgetting to post! The most recent visit was the best by far. We were greeted by a friendly service member who took our order and double checked that it was correct. Food came out fast and accurate. I ordered the chicken wrap with grilled chicken and a side salad with ranch dressing. I typically order the Cayenne chicken sandwich which is always delicious, but I wanted lighter fare. I was incredibly impressed with the freshness of the tomatoes (I added to the wrap, it's not a default ingredient), lettuce and cheese. The chicken was warm and melt in your mouth tender. My least favorite part was the wrap, as it was supposed to be a jalapeño cheddar flavor but it tasted like neither. The side salad was such a perfect size and again, fresh and flavorful. I was very happy. Only downside was that the ice machine was broken and the drinks tasted less than cold without ice. We had to ask if we could get ice from the drive thru soda machine, it wasn't offered. Husband ordered the three strip plate with gravy for a side. WOW, that white gravy is lickin' finger good! Hubby was having no trouble dipping everything in that gravy. He didn't finish his toast since it wasn't a big draw for him. I wish their toast was crave-worthy. Overall, our meals made us want to go back sooner than later!

My family and I came for dinner after our Costco run, we ordered 5x5 meal combo(5 wings & 5 tenders), Cayenne chicken sandwich, fried okra, fried mushrooms & southern pecan cheese cake jar. We liked everything except the fries- but the tenders were so good... The tenders were pipping hot, had good flavor & so tender. The wings were pretty good also. We ordered garlic parmesan cheese and BBQ flavor for the wings. The cayenne chicken sandwich was also good. The service was good & fast. It took them less than 5 minutes to bring out our dinner. The fried okra & mushrooms took a little bit longer. I am going to come back and try their wrap and chicken & waffles for next time.

I can't believe this is almost $12! I could have went to a sit down restaurant and got way more food for the same price. Disappointing

Pros- Clean restaurant, friendly staff, quick service, food at good temperature. Decent tasting tenders, but undersized. Good selection of beverages with fresh cut lemon. Cons- Very expensive. One 3x3 meal with dessert was over $23 for one person! Order line is unorganized and long. Fried pickles were so salty that I had to throw them out. Lemon was not fresh cut, probably sliced yesterday. Pecan jar had a date of 10/6, today is 10/7. No indication if that was the made on-date or the sell-by-date. Online ordering is significantly more expensive per item, but app prices match in-store prices. Verdict- Worth a splurge if you order carefully, but don't take the family.

Slim Chicken was a very friendly experience. The owners and/or operators clearly made customer service training a priority. Everyone we interacted with in the dining room to start then in the parking lot to the drive thru had our best interests in mind. I ordered the 3 x 3 for my wife. Three original Slim chickens tenders and three wings. My wife decided on the Mango Habanero sauce, her dipping sauces were ranch and bleu cheese. She wanted to try the coleslaw as her side. As mentioned earlier, the drive thru order takers, runners, and other employees were genuinely nice and courteous. My wife liked her tenders but didn't have any way to distinguish them from any other tender, which I thought was weird since Slims proudly proclaims their particular way of breading and sourcing of breast chicken. The wings looked like that they had the right amount of sauce and smelled spicy. She enjoyed them to their bone. She did not like the coleslaw. She said it had a horseradish tang to them and she wasn't expecting that. Her experience was better than Dave's so that's good and if she's in the mood for to line dance with Slim, we'll stop by.

Welcome to Idaho, Slim Chickens! I've eaten at one of the Utah locations and this is everything I remember or would compare too. Today we hit the drive thru at 11:45 for lunch. Line wasn't bad at this point. Not a fan of the drive thru space. Fries were hot, crispy and salted. No complaints. I am one of those people that eat my fries first cause everything else will be ok sitting for a minute or two. They were definitely well cooked and yummy! Chicken Club sandwich was hot and crunchy. Produce was fresh. Bacon crisp. Brioche bun was a great compliment for this sandwich. My only complaint for the whole experience would be that there isn't enough sauce/spread. It wasn't dry but I just didn't get ranch mayo flavor. I know there's a fine line between not enough, just right and too much. (Mama Bear would have complained too.) We also had the Buffalo wrap and it was hard to tell that it had any sauce, let alone spicier sauce. With Buffalo you should feel some heat but the sauce was lacking for sure. Wrap was definitely a lighter option. It came in a spinach tortilla. Option to choose between crunchy tenders or grilled is a wonderful option. Looked really good...just up the sauce game please. Portions are good. Fries are plenty. Food was all cooked perfectly. Ask for sauce on the side maybe until they get the newness worked out. Everything was great for day three, so I'm not even knocking off for the sauce. Keep up the good work. We will be back! **Shout out to the employees/staff that had to come and push the car out of the drive thru. Team effort for sure!

This place was so good! I really enjoyed the chicken basket. Food was hot and service was friendly. Will try again :)

This was a solid place for me for what it is. It's a chicken joint with chicken options. No beef , no fake meat, no fish it's just chicken with some options. The inside of this restaurant is new but super clean inside and outside. Open vibe concept with lots of seating... For food my wife had the buffalo chicken wrap and I had the cayenne chicken ranch sandwich. Both the dishes were good and well made. We both liked the fries as well. Everything was hot and presented for what well for what it is. The tipping point for the 4 star was the excellent customer service. Everyone was super friendly and even after eating had another employee thank us for dining with them...it was a nice change to actual have friendly employees. Looks like Chick Fil A is gonna have some competition. Also if you like sauces for your food they have like 17 to choose from.

Wow! Another chicken place in the valley. Not as much hype as INO but still good to have choices! Actually, really liked the chicken here. I thought the fries were very good as well. Staff was super friendly. The country gravy was an awesome addition to the chicken tenders as a side sauce. I believe the food is reasonably priced! I will definitely come again

Nobody was upfront so I just checked out the menu board. A worker did finally make it to the register. Being it was my first time there, I was really unfamiliar with their sandwiches. I asked a couple questions and dude wasn't a lot of help. His mono tone approach to helping me made me feel uncomfortable, like I was bothering him. I should have just left but I went a head and ordered anyways. I grabbed the whole Steak and Everything sandwich without the Everything for my husband. I got the half portion for myself. I added some chipotle ranch to mine. The whole sandwich is no joke! The size of the sandwich could feed 2 to 3 people. It was hot, the cheese was melty and the steak was tender. My sandwich was huge as well for a half size. There were bright pieces of green pepper, mushrooms and banana peppers. I really wanted to like my sandwich. It lacked flavor. Even though it had the chipotle ranch on it, it didn't do much for the sandwich. The peppers, mushrooms and onions needed some seasoning on it. It tasted like steamed veggies on cheese and steak. I did add some salt and pepper but it was still very one noted. The bread was nice and soft. The banana peppers did add some nice acidity to the sandwich and the steak was very tender on my sandwich. As much stuff there was on the sandwich, it just didn't hit for me. I'm not in this area a lot but I'm happy I got to try it out. It wasn't the best experience but maybe my next visit we will have a better experience.

Since we were eager to try it out again and didn't see a line, we yanked our car into a parking spot and ran in for lunch. Ordering went quickly but we had a little sticker shock when it was $34 for two small sandwiches with chip/drink combos. Add in tip and it was almost $38. That's more than we expected to spend. I was also quite disappointed to see that they took away my beloved Diet Pepsi and replaced with Pepsi Zero (this is not the same!!!!). Double whammy with high prices and I didn't get my only choice for a drink. It wasn't just me, two people who walked past me said "no Diet Pepsi?". At least I wasn't alone. Food still took much longer than we thought to get out, with no lines and only a few people at tables and an occasional door dash driver showing up. After about 20 minutes our sandwiches arrived and we were famished. My chicken bacon ranch sandwich was oozing with ranch, chicken and bacon were hot and the overall flavor was exceptional. However, the chicken was in thin, craggy pieces that were texturally unappealing. I would have appreciated juicy chunks or even strips. My husband truly suffered with his standard turkey sandwich. He kept telling me how dry it was, so I tried some to see if he was being a drama llama. The turkey was so dry that I had to fill my mouth with lemonade to swallow it down. If everything was perfect, I wouldn't mind paying that price for two sandwich combos, but this wasn't the case. Probably won't be going back.

After eating here, we should have came here instead of having the pizza. It was later in the afternoon when we came in so it was pretty chill. I I did creep out the menu online so I had a general idea of what I wanted. My husband is pretty predictable so he automatically knew what he wanted. So for lunch I got the 7" pepper steak and my husband got the 7" steak classic with no onions. We both got extra meat instead on getting a bigger sandwich. Yo, this sandwich was so good! My meat was cooked perfectly and not dry! It had a ton of jalapenos and banana peppers. It was cheesy and savory. The bread was soft and not dense. Every bite of it was so good! Not gonna lie, the jalapenos were creeping up on me towards the end. They were getting spicy! I might do half the jalapenos next time. The banana peppers added a nice acid to the sandwich. I polished that baby off and was so full! Well, as full as I was, this joint does offer ice cream. Of course we had to grab some! So, my husband and I grabbed a single scoop of cookies and cream on a sugar cone. It was a decent sized scoop. The gal that scooped it did have a hard time scooping it, it was kinda hollow in the middle. But, it was honestly enough ice cream without officially putting me into food coma. The gals that helped up were really nice! The Phillies here are killer good! The venue is open and spacious. Huge tvs on the wall would make this joint fun during football season! The sandwich was so hot that the cheese melted onto the paper, but when I carefully pulled the paper from the sandwich, it revealed this lovely melted mess of cheese, onions, steak, peppers and mayo. It was the epitome of gluttonous glory. The bun was soft, yet sturdy enough to hold all that gluttony. I eagerly dove in and was surprised on how much I enjoyed the combo of flavors. I thought it lacked a little salt, black pepper or something to make the sandwich "zing". But everything tasted fresh and was overall a very filling and delicious meal. The crinkle cut fries were hot, fresh and perfectly cooked. Liked the fry sauce as well. Honestly, I've never had a real cheesesteak sandwich before so I'm not sure how valid my review is in general. And every single time I fail because somehow the combination of their soft toasted bun, smoky tri-tip, salsa, and just the right amount of messiness makes you question why other sandwich places even exist. What really makes this place special though is that it still feels like an actual neighborhood butcher/deli. Hayley, the owner, is often behind the counter and genuinely knows the names and faces of regulars because there are THAT many repeat customers. They're also one of the best places around for holiday meats. Pro tip: order early for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Another great tip I got from one of their butchers was to pick your order up two days before you need it instead of fighting the crowds the day before. They've already allocated your order, so it's the exact same quality -- but way less stress and waiting. And honestly? Their holiday sides deserve their own review. When the red skin mashed potatoes come out for the holidays, I genuinely wonder why anyone makes mashed potatoes from scratch anymore. And the gravy? Dangerous. I literally order extra every year and freeze it in portions because it's too good to only eat once during the holidays.
