This location in Hendersonville is the closest to us on the east side of the city, so when we make our way anywhere remotely near, we always stop to grab a few tenders! While Slim Chickens is far from life-altering, it is consistent, fresh and tasty! Never had any issues with our food orders, which normally consist of tender meals, a side, drink and sauce. I always side my tenders with fried okra, and the fact that I can do this makes me beyond happy! While my order stays consistent, I usually switch up the dipping sauces. They have quite a list that I have yet to make it all the way through, but we are trying. They cook to order here, so the food is always piping hot and solid when it hits the table. I've tried Slim Chickens 3 times since it opened and every time felt that the food was fine, but not spectacular. I like all of the sauce options, but the tenders are really small. Hubby literally thought they were large nuggets because he ate them in two bites. You can get the sauce on the side for dipping, or you can have them tossed. The first time I got tenders I had sauce on the side and felt there wasn't enough included for all of them. Last time I ordered them, I had them tossed, but since it was pickup, the breading on the tenders was soggy by the time I got home to eat. Maybe it would be fine if I ate them there, which I may try sometime after the pandemic. I've also tried the cayenne ranch chicken sandwich, which was good but not spicy at all. On a positive note, the staff is very friendly and service is pretty quick, even when there's a line. Ordering on their app is easy and their curbside pickup is very efficient. They have spots in front designated for curbside; when you pull in, a staff member comes out to get your name, then they bring out your order. Maybe a 3.5, possibly a 4 if the rest of the menu is solid. I gave the 5 piece tender meal a go and the chicken is crispy but not too greasy, the fries are super crispy and well flavored, and the sauces were particularly good. The best of the 4 sauces I tried was by far the "Korean BBQ" one which really tastes like its name. Clean dining area, fast and friendly service, and decent prices. I'm not sure if the tenders themselves were far and away better than say Zaxby's (certainly better than Chicfila and their nasty breading fall off too sweet ones) but I'd definitely come back. Hello, I was in the area a few days ago to check out some food places and I want to say I am very disgusted with the service there. I was wanting Raising Canes but saw they were not opened in the area yet, so we decided on Slim for food. Normally I have a good experience there but this was the worse. We witnessed the workers giving the workers from Canes a hard time and just treating them very rudely. They basically denied them service because of their uniforms. They told them that they do not need to coming in there with that kind of stuff on. I also noticed the manager locked a girl out when it looked like she was in need of the bathroom. It is just very disgusting that they would act that way to a fellow fast food worker. They did not the pick the location for their restaurant. Also, the place was very nasty and sticky. The tea dispenser was dirty and empty. Trash was piled up and the tables were dirty. The workers were rude and did not want to help with anything. I can not wait until Raising Canes open so I can go somewhere nice and fresh. This place needs some help to keep them in business. read more

The chicken is good as are the fries. The mac and cheese is the best of any fast food places like KFC, and Bar-B-Cutie. Not as good as Hattie B's, but still very good. I like Slim Chickens a little more than Zaxby's. Talking solely about chicken, Chick-fil-A still reigns. The outside eating area is nice. The fries to me personally were a little salty but that's more so preferential. The Texas toast was awesome, better than Zaxbys. And there were plenty of drink options! So this place, not gonna lie... I crave like once a week. The chicken tenders are amazing, the fries.. the wings which I usually get the Parmesan garlic, the coleslaw (which most places it's a miss, this was def. a hit) The dessert jars are so good (and great to keep to use as drinking glasses after).
