Holy crap, this is some good Guatemalan chicken! I might have to go to Central America to try some authentic. I got the spicy chicken sandwich, 6 piece nuggets, yuca fries, and fried plantains, and was blown away! This place is like a Latin X Chick-Fil-A! The nuggets came with yeast rolls, so I felt like I was eating chicken minis! Everyone was multilingual and very friendly. The food was made fresh, so for a takeout, there was a 5-9 min wait. Food that tastes that good was worth it. There were plenty of seats and a birthday area. Everything was colorful and festive, like a paleteas shop, but toned down. I will go again!! The chicken is the falling off the bone good kind. A new experience and very tasty. The sides and soft drinks were superior in choices. The sides were good and the presence of a bottle of Chalupa on every table was pleasing and thoughtful. The service is quick, friendly and easy. Yesterday was our first visit. We had good service at the Madison, TN location. Everything was served hot and delicious. I got a chicken sandwich with rice and my husband got nuggets, a roll and mac and cheese. I cannot give this restaurant chain 5 stars just for that because of the extremely limited menu. I could get nothing on my sandwich but pickles. I asked and they have no lettuce, tomato or mayo options. Since I don't care for pickles on my sandwich, I ate it plain which was dry. The rice had no options, nothing to choose to make it go beyond dry rice. The sauces in the cups were ranch, buffalo and a couple more that didn't suit my taste. The menu should not be so limited that one can't even get mayo. The chicken was flavorful and crispy, which is good. But I'm not there just for chicken. read more

This was my first time trying this franchise and Oh My God, I'm hooked. I'll say it their better than KFC, their Mac n cheese is incredible. The service was better than the food and how often can you say that?! The woman who helped us Liz was so kind and helpful while the machine was giving us Trouble she was patient even joking with us. Food was tasty and hot. My daughter got the Campero salad bowl and loved it. I had the 4 piece 2 fried and 2 grilled with Beans, Yummy rive and tortilla. It's a southwestern type food. If you go expecting KFC or southern fried chicken this isn't the place for you. If you been out west and like Pollo Loco then this is a great place. I ordered the food on the app and was very pleased with my order. Absolutely delicious and friendly service. The mango drink is delicious and I would highly recommend the plantains. So good! I was so excited to try this place, At first everything was good, the manager greeted me and told me about the menu, I proceed with my order and noticed I've been sitting there a long time, it had been over 30 minutes so I decide to go check, so after giving them my receipt my food finally comes out I sit down and I'm missing items so I have to go back and explain that I don't have my entire order, then finally I have my food and of course it's cold and not good at all, I was trying my best to give the benefit of the doubt and it just kept getting worse, I can't say I have a reason for ever wanting to come back, I'm very disappointed with my experience. read more

Anxiously awaited a different kind of chicken place since Pollo Tropical left. Visited Campero the day after they opened. Ordered all white meat grilled, fries, beans and plantains. Drive thru service was very slow but we figured there would be kinks to work out initially. When we got our all white meat order, what we got was a breast and a leg, which was fine. Chicken was very good, as were the sides, so we were looking forward to going back. Since then,we've been back twice and both times were told they dont have breasts...only legs and thighs...so we left. The guy at the drive through seemed surprised that we would even order a breast... No idea what the deal is, especially since all they serve is chicken. Very very disappointed. Review apparently wants me to say something about ambiance. Its a fast food chicken place with very slow drive thru service. Would give it 4 stars if you could actually get food there. read more

The drive thru experience is slow this is my second time coming to location. Just wanted to try since Nashville does not have a Pollo Tropical which is popular for me coming from Florida. On the 1st visit I placed order for the grill chicken family meal and proceeded to window and was told they are out of grilled chicken. I was disappointed and tried to understand and canceled order due to not told this when I ordered. I am giving the restaurant a second try 3weeks later and out of grilled chicken. How is this possible at a brand new establishment This is after sitting in a long line in drive thru. This is not a good experience for first time guest. I ate there for the very first time today it was not a great experience. I ordered the campero bowl and when it came out the corn was completely frozen. I took it back up to the counter and the guy took it back to the kitchen and came back and said it was normal. I asked if I could get something else and the guy rudely told me I had already paid for it so I was stuck with it. I then set down to eat what I could of it. While sitting there I look up at the windows and there's a sign with all of the daily specials and the prices. I was there on a Tuesday which is the day the campero bowls is 8.50 I was charged 11.50.
