This place gave up! The food is not the same as it was just a year ago. The servers are angry and rude. The prices include Tariffs from 2030 they are so astronomically inflated. It's so expensive for garbage. The shrimp is mush and dirty, the chicken is Costco kids dinosaur nuggets, the fries are horrible. Management is rude and unwilling to work with you. I am a server so i get it when things go bad. got my boil order wrong. Didnt fix it and just slapped some of the seasoning it was supposed to be boiled in on top. Took ages to get drinks and never stopped by to check on us. A friend at the table had feathers in his chicken wings and the manager tried to make us think it was normal and fine saying it was "just part of the chicken." Store closes at 10PM, Got here an hour and 10 minutes before and were told to wait for our table and that we would receive a phone call when it was ready. Waited for 45 mins in our car and decided to call in, the lady answered the phone to tell me that they are only doing to-go and that she couldn't help us because "she is just a cashier" So we go in to see what was the issue with our table so apparently they tried to call us but they showed us the call log I guess they forgot that phone numbers have ten digits because they called the number but left off the last digit. Then get this the so called "just a cashier" was the manager who did absolutely nothing to correct the mistake... will not be going back and don't recommend that anyone else does. read more

Very disappointed in my experience here. I ordered king crab and two lobster tails and the crab was so soft/soggy I couldn't even crack it. There was no meat inside once I did crack it. It was basically like getting the smallest crab on the menu, but I paid the full price for king crab.. the lobster tails barely had any meat either. My meal was so expensive and I'm very disappointed. Even the server said she agreed the crab looks really small when she brought it out, but they still charged me the full price... if you want good seafood, I would not go here. I went on a Friday night. We got there and were immediately seated since it wasn't busy. It did get busy as we were waiting though. The food took a long time to come out, about an hour. Service has lots of room for improvement. The boudin balls were good. The hush puppies tasted like any other hush puppies I've ever had. I didn't expect the calamari to be only huge rings. They weren't flavorful and were chewy. I wouldn't recommend the calamari. I got combo #4. It was so much seafood! I only ate half of it. It came with lots of shrimp, two clusters of snow crabs, potatoes, corn, sausage, and I swapped crawfish out for clams. I got my combo in crab house Cajun which I thought was salty but it still had good flavor. The spice level I chose was super hot. It was a bearable and enjoyable heat level, which was perfect for me. The seafood was cooked just right too. It wasn't overcooked or undercooked. Prices are fair. They are about the same as other seafood places in Middle Tennessee. Ordered takeout today from Stormin Crab. Had Boudin Balls and King Crab. As soon as I opened the Boudin Balls I could smell the freezer. Most likely freezer burned. Wasn't going to attempt to eat. My girlfriend ordered the King Crab. We purchased King Crab with corn and potatoes. Opened them up and noticed the King Crab meat had shriveled up, another indication of freezer burn. Since we portion all of our home cooked meals I decided to weigh my King Crab to see if I actually had a pound, which we paid $38.99 a pound. I put the King Crab on the scale and it weighed 12 oz. Yikes! I paid for a pound but got 12 oz. Now when I put the corn and potatoes on, guess what? 1 pound. Shady dealings. Note to the consumer, you're getting ripped off on less than quality product. Not bad for being far from the coast. The corn, broccoli and boiled egg were great. The seafood was average. The butter sauce was overwhelming and very heavy. If you've had Cajun style boils you can easily go for a hotter spice level as I didn't find hot to be spicy at all. We had head off shrimp, mussels, sausage and crawfish with the shrimp leading the pack for flavor. We will return and make adjustments to our seafood choices, sauces and spice level and hopefully have some crabs. In a nutshell...it was a big disappointment. Everything tasted like it was from frozen. The shrimp, besides tasting like they were frozen, they were also very bland tasting. The cheese sticks (which was a weird side) had a gross tasting freezer burn taste. The crab legs (my sisters meal) were swimming in a butter like oil that she said kinda reminded her of movie theater butter/oil). She said they were ok but nothing to write home about. She did say the raw oysters were amazing though! All in all, I hope it was just an off day for them as I wasn't impressed. We've been coming here since they first opened, and they are just as amazing as the first day I ate there! I absolutely love seafood, and this place just does it right. Their decor is so cute, making you feel right at home with the writing on the wall and their sea-themed setup. Their seafood bread is one of my favorite things, anywhere. I don't know how they do it, but they do it right. Their seafood servings are generous, and as messy as it is it's one of the best things I've ever eaten. OK, to let you know, I am THAT person that goes to a seafood place and looks for NON-seafood items on the menu. It's just that after Katrina in 2005 seafood does not taste good to me anymore. I don't know what and/or how Katrina impacted the seafood industry but it's long-lasting and I can still taste it. Nestled in a shopping center in the Rivergate part of Goodlettsville is The Storming Crab. They call themselves With that said, I'm only knocking 1-star off because of the lack of alternative food for non-seafood lovers who are accompanying the seafood lovers. They have chicken wings, but that was the only thing we could find(outside of the kids menu) that was non-seafood, they were tasty but small. The seafood portions are very large and the staff friendly. I have seen questions where they are asking if they have unlimited crab legs or any other seafood. They do not currently offer "unlimited" anything, however, the portions offered are large enough that it can seem unlimited. PLUS, and I don't mean to go all motherly in this review but it's happening, I'm obese and it is because of "unlimited". You don't need "unlimited" anything...what they give you is more than enough for a couple of people. No matter your size, you don't need to stuff your stomach until you can barely move. What we ordered: You receive 2 pieces of seafood bread free with your order. You can order a larger size if needed. But these were perfect for an appetizer. It has mayonnaise(beware if you do not like Mayo), shrimp and crab pieces baked into it along with some cheese. This was a very unique blend of flavors though I would not be able to eat more than one piece because it was very greasy/oily. The Calamari Rings($9.99) were okay, they were a little overcooked and tough but had a good flavor. Fried Shrimp Basket($9.99) was good, light and buttery, not chewy or overcooked. The fries were good, they may be "salty" for some but for me they were perfect. Chicken Wings - Buffalo flavored($5.99) were very good. Surprisingly so since this isn't a wing place. I would say they tasted better than any wings I've gotten from Buffalo Wild Wings and that's an actual wing place. Crazy! I just wish there were more of them, they do come in a 12 piece for $9.99, so that may be a future option. FRIED OKRA!!($3.99) The biggest basket of Fried Okra you will ever see in your life. I had okra as a side with my next two meals at home there was so much. ONLY $3.99, you could literally just order that and be fine for a meal. Clam Chowder($5.99) this was okay, not mind blowing or earth shattering really. I was expecting something a little more on this soup, but it tasted fine and was seasoned well. My favorite part was the names all over the walls and seats. If you have a pen or sharpie you can write your name or a cute saying on the posts, walls and seats. I've included pics below of others that have done this, it's cute and gives the place a unique feel. All and all I liked this place even though I'm just not a seafood person anymore. I will be returning and updating this review in the future with the seafood buckets. Although I have issues with seafood, I am optimistic with new/other ways of cooking will make the flavor of toxicity go away. But don't take my word for it, definitely try this place if you are a seafood lover!! read more

This place was awesome!! On a drive through Rivergate, we were reminded of this place. Super cool vibes as soon as you walk in. A bar in the middle of you'd like to indulge . They hostess was extremely nice and welcoming when we entered. Our waitress was super nice! Not sure if she showed us extra TLC because we were 1st timers, but she set the bar! She helped us with our bibs and gloves, after explaining the menu. The food came out fast (combo 4), which included crab legs, crawfish, potatoes, sausage and corn for 48.00 (on this day), in yummy garlic butter Cajun seasoning! When you bite into the seafood, the inside still had flavor, and it wasn't bland so you know it was cooked just right. You know at some places the seasoning is just on the outside and the meat on the inside doesn't have any flavors. This place did it just right, and it wasn't over cooked or undercooked. You pick your boil, and your sauce/spice level, as well. The market price is on the board that day for how much the prices are. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because from the time that we put our order in, it took us 1 hour to get our food. I also felt that my food wasn't hot, just warm. We've been here a couple of times before and had the boiled bags of seafood. Yesterday we decided to try the fried baskets. I got oysters. My husband got scallops... except we discovered they weren't really scallops. They were perfectly round and rather tasteless, so he unbreaded one to inspect and it was not a scallop.
