Great food, good prices. Just tried this for the first time today and I really liked it, looking forward to going back again soon.

Tried this for the first time yesterday. Chicken was very tender , but too salty. Fries were so so, nothing special. All in all too pricey for no taste. Just didn't like it. The young lady that took our order was very pleasant. Didn't try their other sides. read more

Plenty of chicken options along Bandera Rd in Helotes these days, so when (about 6 months ago) I came close to closing time and received cold food (I ate it in their parking lot cause I was starving) I was pretty bummed. I figured their management would want to know so I emailed them. Got a response by email that I could have a free meal and sorry for their mistake. Tonight I was driving by, remembered the email, and figured I'd give them another shot. Victory #1 - they honored the free meal even though the manager hadn't worked here in six months. Victory #2 - the strips were excellent. And nice and hot. I like the inferno sauce. It brings the heat. read more

The food was good for the most part, but i had issues with my order. I paid 87 on this app, but only half of it came through to the restaurant, so i had to wait longer than expected for my food. When i got my food, i was given the wrong cheesecake in a cup, half the food was cold by the time i got home, and the potato salad was... no bueno. My initial impression was nice though because the staff was super friendly. Will i give this place a try again, yes. Might even come update this review. read more

The food was good! The wings could've been a bit better. I felt like they were dry and just warm. I would've liked them piping hot, especially since they were made to order (I think). Anywho, I discovered slim chickens two weeks ago and I've been 4 times since then. Hope that explains how I feel about them. I think the tenders are better than the wings. The 5.99$ waffle special is s great deal. The raspberry tea is also delicious! The jar desserts could use a little improvement, I had the pumpkin cheesecake, it felt like I was eating some cream cheese with a ridiculous amount of whipped cream. read more

Really the only thing you need to know is that it's better than raising canes. And that you shouldn't try to order to go and eat at home unless you live very close. They have Texas shaped waffles.. what else do you need? read more

Great food, I had the chicken & waffles with a side of fries & they are really good, I would definitely recommend eating at this restaurant & the service was great! read more

Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Suggested a special order of tenders which were perfect. Cold Slaw very yummy.

Loveee this place! My boyfriend and I went after leaving another restaurant because of poor service & we were SO happy we came here. It was refreshing to be treated so kindly by everyone there! The food was so good. We played the games on the patio & had a wonderful time! Definitely will be back! read more

Had a classic car hangout there today. Enjoyed all the food, super tasty and plentiful. The desserts were awesome. Ordered 8 piece wing to go. Next time I will have to try the mushrooms. I hear they are super tasty. Can't wait to go back. Place is super clean and the staff are very courteous and friendly. Thank you read more

I ordered at the drive through and I just got home. I was ready to eat, and there is a fly in my sandwich!!! I'm sooooo disappointed. I really do like this place, but I definitely can't eat a meal that a fly has been lingering in. read more

how do i even start this review? i wish i could put more than 5 stars, because this establishment is truly deserving of such. the service here is impeccable to begin with. imagine listening to young thug for the very first time, and how life changing jeffrey's voice was the second his sound breached your ear drum canal, that is the exact same experience i got when i bit into my first tender at slim chickens. the food is of the highest grade, cooked to perfection with absolute zero flaws, and the fact that i can order as many sauces as i please placed this restaurant at the very top of my list. you may think this place is similar to "other" fast food restaurants, but take my word for it, this is a fine dining experience. i will put this establishment with the likings of chama gaucha, fogo de chao, and gordon ramsey's steakhouse. to conclude my review and put it in a summary, slim chickens is truly a life changing/pivotal moment in ones life. i had to force myself back from devouring my meal and eating it like a rabid animal. you will NOT be disappointed, my guarantee. read more

Slim chickens is amazing! I've given it a couple of times before writing a review, and they haven't let me down! The chicken strips are always fresh, and the sides are delicious! They have so many dipping sauces to choose from that there's something for everyone! I highly recommend trying the mac and cheese and the Brownie jar dessert! read more

The menu is basic but the taste is great!! Love how they seasoned the fries and chicken. Dipping sauces are really good! No one can go wrong with their Mac n cheese! Staff are wonderful and the owner even served our orders! Will definitely come back. read more

I loved this place! I had the chicken and waffle and a large drink, which super good. If you get a large you can keep the cup, too.

Wow!! Awesome!! We had the chicken tenders, plus the fried pickles ARE THE BEST EVER!!! The desserts are served in glass mason jars, this is a cute idea which is something I have never seen! Give this place a try you won't regret it. Also the price is pretty competitive and won't break the bank. read more

Slim Chickens - Mmmmmmmmm - Comfort Food Near Me - Helotes, Texas

Tried this place for first time and not impressed. Walk in and no one asks you if you like to order. Told them it was are first time here Then ordered two chicken wrap grilled with no buffalo sauce and no tomatoes on one of them. The whole order was wrong buffalo sauce on both and not grilled but had fried chicken. I would suggest trying other places to eat rather than here. People working here not even happy. read more

Slim's is the best. Been waiting for them to come to SA for years now and couldn't be happier! Best fast casual chicken spot, period.

Really great wings, which is why I kept coming back, but would mess up my drive through order every time in small ways. Tonight was the last straw, I ordered a 20 piece chicken wing for myself and a friend, drove across town and realized they only gave me 10. The incompetence of the employees not to check my orders will not happen anymore. They lost my business tonight. read more

We are never disappointed with Slim chicken. I absolutely love Chic File but the chicken from Slim Chicken I have to admit is better.

Horrible service. Went for lunch on a Saturday and the parking lot was empty. I should have left then. Went inside and there were three other guest sitting down. Had to wait 10 minutes to order at the register. Finally got to order and sit down. After 20 minutes still no food. Guest who came in after me were being served already. 30 minute mark and asked the server about our food and was told there was a mistake somehow and it would be another 10 minutes. Asked for the manager for a refund and after another 5 minutes refund given and all he could say was sorry for the inconvenience. Poor service at its best read more

Not only is the food amazing(especially chicken and waffles) but their customer service is amazing. It is really clean on the inside as well. The best thing is finishing off a meal with their dessert in a jar. Super fun! read more

Service was great! Tenders were delish, and I love all the dipping sauces they have to offer. The sirachi garlic was on point! My family and I will definitely be back. read more

This was our first visit and was not really impressed. We did the drive thru and the wait was about 15 mins but was willing to wait if it was any indicator of how good the food is. We were disappointed that the fried pickles were very greasy as were the fries. The chicken strips lacked seasoning. The chicken wings were greasy, soggy, and lacked seasoning. The best item was the ranch chips which were very crisp and tasty. read more

Won't be going back, had a bad experience. My food was lukewarm and my mushrooms were soggy. I didn't mind having to wait as long as my food was fresh, I did mind being lied to and being told that the food was remade when it obviously wasn't. Kinda bummed cause that was my first and last time going there. read more

Great chicken, fun packaging, but the fried pickles and fried mushrooms aren't really fried. You can flip-flop them all around. I like the crunch on my fried pickles which was disappointing. Also, the toast wasn't as good (crisp on the outside, soft on the inside) as Caine's. Good to above average chicken, not so good sides! Hopefully they improve in those areas. read more

Below average. If you want great tenders go to Raising Cane!!!!!! They are cheaper and taste way better!!!!!

The chicken and waffle was good. Slim sauce so delish. Waffle was fluffy and light. I recommend this place because of the food and serivce.

People don't waste your money or time. This place isn't good at all. I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. Wings were under cooked and rubbery and tenders we just lacking flavor. 20 bucks of food ended up in my trash can. read more

We have been wanting to try this place for a while and glad we had the opportunity today! We tried the 3 & 3 wings and tenders which were very tasty. We both enjoyed the wing sauces and dipping sauces that came with the order. Their fries are amazing, crunchy with spices and their fried pickles are good if you want something different. We were chatting with the owner as we ordered and asked lots of questions about the menu like what their layered jar desserts were made of (deliciousness is the answer). He was very helpful with all his answers and we experienced great customer service. Food was prompt, hot, and tasty. The place is really stylish as a bonus. If you are in the Bandera/1604 area and craving chicken, you must try Slim Pickens!! read more

First time having Slim Chickens. We heard great things and since they opened one here and there was so much hype about the Slim Chickens chain we decided to try it. It was just alright. The thing my family liked the most was the mac n cheese. My wings were sad looking, small, and barely had any meat to it. Chicken and waffles was ok, nothing special. Overall an ok experience, it wasn't awful but nothing stood out either. Probably won't be back, unless we are in the area and want mac n cheese. read more

They think we can eat macaroni with our hands because they don't give us spoons and if you ask for ranch for two meals you get one and they are rude. read more

Love this little spot in Helotes! Reminds me of raising Cain's except they have waffles! And they get extra points because of the dessert mason jars and they do not charge you extra for lemonade! I will definitely be back for more. The fries and guest service is top notch as well. read more

I really wanted to love this place. I got 1/2 fried tenders and 1/2 grilled. The fried ones were good, small for tenders, but good. I can't say the same for the grilled ones. I had to dunk it in ketchup and still wasn't able to finish it. It was tasteless however was over seasoned at the same time. The gravy had absolutely no flavor to it. They weren't very busy when we got there and it took over 20 minutes for a finger basket and a sandwich. The restaurant itself was nice and very clean. The staff was friendly as well. I just didn't feel like the food was up to par. read more

It's okay.. I'm more of a Canes fan but what I did like is the flavor options for the strips and they also have deserts. That was a nice unexpected surprise. Food was okay but not great. read more

Everything they sell there is delise, the waffle, combination with the chicken strips very tasty i just love it there, great work keep it up

I highly recommend giving this place a serious try (The one on Bandera in Helotes anyway) Chicken and waffles are a nice treat. Chicken tenders are refreshingly not over processed. Light yet crunchy batter but you can even avoid the batter if you like by asking for grilled since they batter in house. Wing and tender combos with fun variety of house made dipping sauces. Something for every diet. Salads to desserts. Don't worry about being too full for dessert, take home a souvenir jar of dessert, I did. Efficient drive-thru available as well as porch seating. Attentive dine-in experience. Employees are available to help you have a pleasant dining experience. You won't find better customer service at any other fast food. They truly care about their customer's experience. Give a shout out to GM Andrew while you are there, always a warm greeting. read more

Great food and a great atmosphere! Try the chicken and waffles. My favorite! The fried pickles are also amazing with cayenne ranch.

Not sure if it's because I got it to go instead of eating in but I was not impressed. If I try it again, I will be dining in instead. I got the 3 & 3 plate with a side of mac and cheese. I chose the slim sauce and cayenne ranch as dipping sauces. The tenders and wings were both rubbery and not tender. The tenders tasted bland and I did not care for the slim sauce. The wings were done in buffalo sauce which was not spicy at all. The cayenne ranch was really good but could not save the wings. They tasted as if they were sitting out for a while. The toast tasted burnt even though it wasn't. The mac and cheese was really good. I would probably come back for this. I went through the drive thru and the employee was really nice and helpful. read more
