I like to try and differentiate my reviews, but in this case it's no use. Like everyone else said, the wings are King here. The BBQ is good and so are the sides, but I come here for the wings that you can't get anywhere else. They are smoked and the 10-piece plate comes with 2 pieces of garlic bread and two sides. It is healthy (or un-, depending on your point of view) amount of food. It's a local place and very casual. Potato salad has a bit of mustard in it that made it unique. Cole slaw is cream-based and reminds me a little of KFC's slaw. Check it out, you won't be disappointed! read more

Memphis Native here. The pulled pork is the best outside of Memphis hands down. Sides were decent. The fried pickles were honestly the best I've ever had as well. Topped it off with the banana pudding. Very very very good. This is my first Yelp review ever. I will be coming back here regularly. read more

I was so impressed with this place, great bbq, great prices and portions. My only gripe is that I got there too late and they ran out of wings. My son in law was nice enough to let me try one of his, and it was one of the best wings I've ever had. If I ever get back to Murfreesboro, I'm going earlier! read more

They have awesome lunch specials! I order the BBQ sandwich, fried green tomatoes with ranch, and a drink. And you HAVE to try their coconut cake! Holy Moses - it's heaven on a plate! Their staff is super friendly and efficient. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I am a BBQ snob. But, this place is still great! read more

BEST SMOKED WINGS I'VE EVER HAD. I cannot believe this gem is close enough for me to visit every weekend if I wanted to! ...but it is! Me and the wife went here for a day we decided to spend together and it was just great. We both ordered the 3 meats sample platter. I had brisket, smoked Turkey, and smoked wings. There is NO SAUCE needed for these wings. Furthermore, if you DO use sauce, it will decrease the flavor. This Q joint will be a staple in my own personal treasures of national Q locations. I have grew up on slick pig & have absolutely no regrets! The food is AMAZING & the staff is even better! I took my daughter here for the first time when she was 5 and since then she's chose to go back each year for her "birthday food" and anytime we eat out in murfreesboro. You just can not compete with the food here! The staff that I've met are genuinely good people, which always makes a business thrive. Everyone who comes into this restaurant knows they will be leaving happy and full. It's just awesome to see it still thriving after so many years of business... and still tastes amazing! read more

Great local dive! Had the 1/2 slab of ribs. 5 huge ribs that fell off the bones. So good. Onion rings and Cole slaw complete the meal. Great spot. Found it on Yelp as we drove through town. read more

Heard about the wings here from the Tennesseean's "Top Wings In Nashville" feature. Happen to be in the neighborhood for my son's soccer game so we had to stop by. Walked in told the ladies at the counter that we where "rookies" and where looking to try the wings. They took us literally and gave us two samples of their wings! Initially to hot to try, we ordered a basket of plain wings while we waited for our samples to cool down. The Tennesseen was right! These wings where on point! Smoked, dry and falling off the bone. We had ordered their honey mustard sauce on the side which was delicious for dipping both or wings and fries in. We'll definitely be back when in the Murfreesboro area again. I booked slick pig to cater my sorority's event on 11/17/23 for 175 people. This was the most popular food we have ever ordered, and it was an awesome price! The couple that delivered and served the food were SO nice, personable, and enjoyable to talk to. I can't say enough great things about our experience! Everyone had something they liked, it was just soooo yummy! We got pulled pork, chopped chicken, baked beans, potato salad, and some of the best Mac and cheese I've ever ate!!! We were in town for a soccer tournament and took our team here for a team dinner. The food was delicious and served hot and fast. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. There were some locals eating when we arrived and they said it is the BEST BBQ in Murfreesboro and I believe them. The staff from top to bottom were courteous and very helpful. First off, let me say how much I wanted to love this place. I have a special love affair with BBQ, and I'm always looking for the best local joint. Based on the reviews and recommendations, this was the place to go. I hope I hit them on an off night, but it was nothing to write home about. I ordered 5 smoked wings, a half rib plate, baked beans, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese. The macaroni reminded me of Stauffer's...not a good impression. The baked beans were a little sweet, but fairly flavorful. The coleslaw had to much sugar and not enough acid, and this is coming from a woman who loves sweet mayonnaise style slaw. The wings were cold, and had clearly been sitting a while. The ribs are fall off the bone, but not in a good way, in an over cooked and dry kind of way. Sauce is necessary for these ribs as there's little flavor. This place has a friendly staff and great prices. I just wish the food matched up to expectations. read more

I have been ordering the smoked wings from here for the longest and never had a problem until last night. I placed my order as usual and requested the BBQ sauce as I always do, except this time I was told that it would be recommended that I get the bbq sauce because they were smoked wings. When I'm spending my money I don't care for the comments like that just take my order and leave it at that! read more

This place is so good for bbq!! The tables are sticky with smoke and the place smells of that wonderful bbq smokiness. The brisket was moist and delicious. The chicken wings had a lot of smoky flavor and had a nice crisp on the outside. We will definite be back around. read more

I would give it 3.5 stars. Went here last week for lunch with hubby. He got the brisket order with two sides(onion rings and cold slaw). And I order the half ribs with potato salad and mac&cheese. The brisket was dry. No complains about the cold slaw and potato salad. The Mac and cheese lacked flavor. My rib order was great. The meat fell off the bone, flavoring was perfect. And the meat was juicy. Service was fine, no problems there. Overall, it a good place to get ribs. Not sure if we would go back just for that. read more

If you're going to have BBQ in Murfreesboro...you need to go to Slick Pig! It is THE local BBQ place that everyone loves. I am not sure how to pick a favorite item, but my cousin goes there a lot just to get the banana pudding. I LOVE the fruit tea (you will want to buy the whole gallon) and all of the food is good. You can't really go wrong with it! They also sell whole hams for holidays and they are delicious! read more

Do not read these silly negative reviews. It is a great spot for BBQ, it is not fine dining. Great food, great prices, super quick & friendly service! Personally, not sure what else you want for $16 for two full lunches on any weekday...and they clear your plate for you as you're finished. I guess I follow my Dad's precise wisdom, "if the parking lot is full, it must be good." Get the smoked wings! Excellent, and beat the heck out of all the other fatty, slimy ones many others sell ya for more money! Forget the naysayers and get your ole butt in there for some great Southern food, go! read more

This is a fantastic little family-run BBQ spot. Still taking orders the old fashioned way (at the counter on slips) but dolling out great BBQ. Large tables and booths. Their tea is great! On this trip I had the pork BBQ plate, which was perfect. The BBQ had the right amount of moisture and smoke. Full of flavor and very tender. These folks know what they're doing. The hush puppies reminded me of home. Well seasoned and balanced. The baked beans were pretty standard for a spot like this and had the perfect balance of sweet and heat. Enjoyed a tasty lunch with a friend at the world famous Slick Pig. The restaurant is rustic and very clean. You order at the counter and serve yourself drink. The staff brings your food to you. I had the wings and they were delicious. My friend enjoyed the barbecue sandwich and fries- he enjoyed it. The food was all hot and arrived within 5-7 minutes from the time we ordered. It was really good but still haven't figured out what makes this restaurant world famous. Next time, I will try another dish and maybe discover the answer. read more

Best bbq in town. By far. The smoked wings are the best wings I've ever had and I LOVE the pickled tomatoes. Sounds weird, but they're so good. My husband gets the brisket and loves it every time, but I'm telling you the smoked wings are the star of the menu. They fall apart, have great flavor, and are just perfect. Their ranch is also really good, which is a weird thing to review, but I'm a person who often includes ranch quality in my opinion of restaurants because, when done right, it's a superior condiment. I digress.... Get the smoked wings. Worth every penny! read more
