This was the finale to our trip and it was perfect! The other reviews are still accurate but I will update the info that has changed. We went for the 4:30 seating and I am so glad we did because it was COLD. Dress for warmth! The blankets they provide are very nice but it was snowing the day we went so hats, gloves, etc are a must. The food choices have changed: NY strip, grilled chicken, grilled salmon or hotdog option for kids. Prices: Adult - $88, Children under 12 - $57, Children who choose hotdog option - $40. There were four of us and we ordered one of each item. I tasted everything and everything was delicious - very impressed! Does not include alcohol but does include complimentary shot of Schnapps or Amaretto for adults, hot cocoa, soft drinks, beef barley stew, hot biscuits with two kinds of butter, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted veggies and warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream. The wine selection was nice as well. Bring credit card/ cash for the alcohol and tip. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The guitarist was fun and got everyone singing along. The whole excursion was exactly 3 hours. Definitely worth it!

Can't complain about a horse drawn sleigh through the snow. They take you through the beauty of nature as well as give you some history and humor along the way. When you reach a small cabin in the middle on nowhere it's approaching sun down. You get there just in time to see the end of the sun and beginning of the nature light. It's amazing how clear it is outside without lights. Now the cabin is were you are seated for dinner. You get a complimentary shot of peppermint schnapps I believe and the food is served in heavy duty dishes. Not sure the right word for it at the moment. But your plate it like a skillet old school cups very homely. Brings you back. They provide music and they play the part well. Super friendly staff. The food was only mediocre but the experience is one of a kind. 4 stars for that! Also, they provide blankets for you on the sleigh so you don't have to worry about being too cold.

What is the stew? I'm curious because I did one of these a few years ago and had this beef barley stew and they gave us the recipe and that was my favorite thing I've ever done in the Rockies. I'm wondering if it's the same thing?

I had very high expectations for this restaurant coming into it because all of the places I've had…read morein Silverthorne have been amazing; both with food and hospitality. This place missed every single mark. Our food took almost an hour to come out and parts of it was cold. Hubbys pancake was hard (not crispy hard, like heat lamp hard) and one of the items on my plate was a completely cold, unbuttered English muffin. The eggs were cooked wrong (I ordered over medium and they were barely over easy with tons of runny white still and hubby ordered hard scrambled and they were scrambled and runny still), and our waiter stopped in to fill water cups once but did not check in or ask how we were while we were waiting. I'm typically pretty easy going -- I understand mistakes are made sometimes. That is easily redeemable if the service is good; but the service was not. Our server made it seem like we were an inconvenience. 1026 - we got the text our table was ready. We requested a booth (and mentioned we would wait longer got a booth) but got a table. Okay fine, it happens 1038 - we finally had a server ask if we want something to drink. We ordered drinks and it was at least 10 more minutes before they came to take our order. Our order was submitted and it was nearly 45 minutes for the (cold) food to come out. During the wait we were not checked on at all. No one asked us if we were good or needed anything-- or let us know the food was delayed. When the food finally came (again, cold) it was dropped at the table and it was another 15 mins before our server even acknowledged us again. The lady who helped him drop the food was nicer than he was, and asked if we needed anything else; while he couldn't be bothered. We are walking out now at 1140. Our server checked on us a total of 3 times and got rude when his tip was reduced for that. Important to note -- the table behind us had walked in as our food was being served and they got their entire order (6 people) before we left. Different server, so it may not be the entire place, however your servers are a reflection of your company. Unacceptable and we will not be back

We will be notified with a text when our table is ready. We were told 20 minutes. Tell me why it was an hour...still waiting, other groups with the same number of people as our group were seated before us and arrived after us. I went to the host stand to ask if we were up soon? Magically we're next and they pointed to a table that wasn't even clean that was ours. Waited a bit more. Table is clean but no one sat us? Waited about 10 more minutes waiting to be seated and finally we just sat down ourselves. A gentleman did come and apologize for the wait and brought a dessert for us to share. Thank you for the kindness and apology. Thinking this was the only hiccup. Nope. The family orders drinks and food at the same time. We're hungry and ready to go! Our group didn't get one drink until our food came 30 minutes later? Would have been nice to sip on our coffees and beverages while we waited for our food. Then the food came...what a disappointment. It may look lovely to the eyes but nothing was seasoned. It was sub par at best. We had planned to come the next morning while we waited the hour with all the selections we wanted to try. Not happening. I wished so much that the food and drinks were delish. Feels like if you're there since 1977 you can serve bland food and not care because you have legacy.

There was no chili, no pork, nothing -- just basic mac and cheese that tasted like it came straight out of a box. My friend ordered a burger that was supposed to come with lettuce, blue cheese, and the works. Instead, it arrived with just chicken and bread. That was it. No toppings at all. The water we were given was also incredibly dirty -- it literally looked grey. Service somehow managed to be both overwhelming and nonexistent. While we were eating, the waiter came back to the table every couple of seconds so we couldn't even have a conversation. But when we were actually ready for the check, suddenly there was no waiter anywhere and we fwaited about 15 minutes. On top of that, every request got mixed up. I asked for blue cheese and after about 10 minutes the waiter came back with ranch. Then I asked for lemon vinaigrette (which the meal was supposed to come with) and instead got honey mustard. After explaining again, she came back with... even more honey mustard. We also paid $10 for fries with green chili and received about 15 fries. And one more thing when paying they did NOT bring my card back for about 20 minutes. It was also extremely dark where we were sitting all of the surrounding lights were off but everywhere else in the resteraunt was perfectly fine Overall the food quality, service, and attention to orders were extremely disappointing. Definitely not an experience I'd repeat don't waste your money here.

The only thing I didn't like as much was the hashbrowns, they were just okay. I also ordered the jalapeño bread French toast (recommended by our server). They make their breads in-house and I would definitely get that again. I also tried some of my friend's banana bread and that was really delicious too. Didn't get a chance to try these since we had to get to the hot springs soon so thought it's too much food to finish in time, but they had a French toast flight and a Benedict flight, which I've never seen before. The Reuben was outstanding--perfectly grilled with a crispy rye, flavorful corned beef, and just the right balance of Swiss, sauerkraut, and dressing. The green chili soup was rich, comforting, and packed with great Colorado flavor. My wife built her own burger and upgraded to the house salad instead of fries. The hostess said no, that she had to reserve that table in case a party of seven came in. We were seated at one of the very tiny tables and it felt uncomfortable-it was clear that once our plates arrived we would need to move all the condiments from the middle of the table, and even then it would be a tight squeeze.Eventually, the round top next to us that seats five opened and we asked if we could move to that one. The hostess turned to our waitress and asked if it was OK with her if we moved. The waitress hesitated. She looked from us to the other table and back again, and then she said, "We don't usually let people move tables after they've placed their order." I want to emphasize that the restaurant was half full, and there were no people waiting to be seated. The waitress finally said, "Well, OK." It was so much more comfortable at the larger table, but that whole, strangely uncomfortable exchange threw a pall over the meal. Clearly customer service is not their concern. In the two days prior we had eaten breakfast at the Butterhorn across the street, and The Little Diner in Vail, both of which were welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, so the contrast was glaring. I ordered the Summer Corn Scramble, and it was delicious, although the accompanying hash browns tasted like they were from a frozen package, and the English muffin was not the best quality. The door handles as we entered the restaurant were grimy and I should have taken that as a cue to eat elsewhere. I will not return.
