We purchased tickets to this not really knowing what to expect. It's nothing like the picture. ITS BETTER!!!!! so they have these massive slays with really thick blankets. You board the slays which are driven by the nicest people. It takes you through the most majestic scenery. We went the first week of March and the snow and hills were just breathtaking. Just when you take it all in you arrive at this destination, which is so cute. It's like a building/tent? anyway, they greet you with the most delicious cookies and amazing hot cocoa. You sit down in tables while there's a gentleman playing live music. What a fun time! They even pass around asking if you want peppermint alcohol. I don't know exactly what it's called but they also offer to spike your hot chocolate lol. Not sure if it taste good because I was not ready to ruin such a delicious drink. But it was awesome! after we enjoyed our hot chocolate and danced with the kids, we all go back outside to take pictures and board the sleigh again. We were taken back to our starting point. Absolutely a 10 out of 10 with or without kids. The kids loved this experience, but we also really liked it . I was pleasantly surprised. OH!!!! and my stepmom dropped the glove. It's pretty wild what a range the past reviews are, but I have to say they just about all manage to ring true. The sleigh ride is amongst the paths of the Frisco Nordic Center. It's a lovely flat area along the reservoir with low trees, so there are views of the surrounding mountains. Total sleigh ride is about 15 minutes there, 5 back. And yes, sitting outside in the evening is cold, be prepared for that. (But the dinner tent is quite warm as promised.) The food quality is comparable to those buffet chains that I think have mostly closed down: low quality steak with minimal flavor, veggies that seemed from a can, and a potato. I actually found the chicken surprisingly good, it had a tasty sauce, as well as the soup. Everyone was friendly, and the mule drivers double as wait staff. The whole thing was well organized and run right on time. Music was very good, though it sounds like it wasn't the usual person. I'd go for 4 stars if it was slightly cheaper. And they've posted that the price is increasing by 23% next year, which would make it that much harder to enthusiastically recommend. read more

Summer Chuckwagon Dinner and show. Rustic! Note loud gun shots - several younger children upset right from the start. 2.5 hour event. Show is lame but some folks seamed to enjoy. Older folks look bored. Wagon ride is short using mule teams. Short walk from gravel parking lot to pu and drop off point not needed at all. Not walker or wheelchair friendly. Meal was served hot and not too bad. BBQ Briskett and/or BBQ Chicken, Whistleberries (beans), corn on cobb, biscuits or cornbread, water or weak leamonaid. Beer, wine and rootbear an extra charge. Staff members had too much personal chatter near guests. Port a potties. One of the higher rated Summit cnty venues but we found it very over rated for the money and will not come again. Not impressed at all, I showed up hungry and left even hungrier. The food was just not edible, I sustained myself on the dinner rolls. The singer left something to be desired and we felt more like hostages towards the end of the night as we had to wait until sleds were ready for our return journey. The waiting might have been palpable if we already didn't have to wait until an hour after check-in to begin the experience and the food was edible. Don't waste your time or money on this. read more

Delighted to be here and post a positive review for 2 Below Zero Dinner Sleigh Rides~~ regarding my visit this month, on 01/19/2021. Even so, I'm excited because I'll be reviewing a recent 2021 experience! The last one I'm looking at, was posted in July of 2020. These reviews from other fellow Yelpers, are very hot and cold. Some sound like pleasant experiences, others err... not so much. The plan was originally for Christmas time, December 19th, 2020. They had to delay our reservation, because Moose (Originally was named Mouse) was injured and had needed extra time to recover! We had driven a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes, passing wonderful cities to finally reach the city of Frisco. We learned that 2 Below Zero Dinner Sleigh Rides share territory with the Frisco Nordic Center (Offers skiing and other services). We did see the cross country skiing partakers being active, on similar routes such as our sleigh. Very interesting. Upon arriving, we noticed a very spacious parking lot with lots of vacant spots. We were happy that we found the place safe and accordingly. Nick and I checked in at the front counter, and had met a wonderful lad by the name Pete. He reassured us that we would have an amazing time; told us Christmas never dies in the city of Frisco! I was absolutely in love! I love Christmas and wish it was a yearly thing. He took us on our ride, with a another wonderful young lady named Lauren, created some small talk and got the sleigh ready. We got Moose ready, we were super excited! The ride was 20 minutes up into another barn with hot coco and they even added a pint of this delicious Smirnoff Peppermint Twist Vodka flavor!! I ended up getting seconds on that drink. It was a little cold, even with the sun out. The hot cocoa actually warmed us right up. We took loads of photos, thanks to Pete! He was our little photographer. This experience was really cool, we enjoyed getting to know Audria, Lauren and Pete. Moose was such a beautiful horse! I can't imagine the long hours he works, as well as their mule teams. I thought the ride was absolutely beautiful, we did get to see the scenic views of the mountains. We were next to many pine trees and rabbit trails were seen from above. It was a wonderful gift from the love of my life! I did feel that this visit was pure success. We will return! read more

We had reviewed previous reviews but elected to be positive and give this a try. Honestly, we had a wonderful time. The experience was great, the entertainment was enjoyable and the sleigh ride was fun (bring a blanket!!!). The reason for 3 stars is truly due to the food for the price. The food was subpar, except the soup, bread and baked potato. The steak was not as rubbery as other reviewers noted, but it was not good. The vegetables tasted like black licorice. I think they would be better served picking either steak or chicken and making that dish better quality. It was a lot of food, but not tasty. It's an experience we are glad to have participated in but will not be doing again. read more

Oh my! I think this is the first time in the first reviewer! What an honor! This place was a blast :-) my first "horse-drawn" carriage experience (who cares that it was actually a mule drawn sleigh?) Warm blankets, friendly hosts, steaming hot cocoa, delicious bread, & a filling meal. The chicken was more moist than anticipated, the steak was not a steakhouse steak but about what I expected, the apple pie was fabulous... And we witnessed a quiet proposal that just enhanced the feel of the whole experience. Our entertainer was a charming guitarist who was fun to sing along with & made sure the children weren't bored (even had toy horses, the kind with just a head & sticks as bodies that they "rode" around to a cowboy song). We were lucky enough to have a clear night sky which made for some beautiful views. If I had one suggestion, it'd be to have hot cocoa available on the ride out to the dinner tent though I haven't quite figured out the logistics... read more

Ok, I realize a lot of people will look at the other reviews, like I did, and figure that any low rating was probably a low ball, disgruntled customer. And a lot of you will ignore this rating and go ahead and reserve your dinner anyway, just like we did. And like us, you'll end up disappointed and a little angry, just like most of the folks on our tour were. So ignore this if you must, but when you get finished with your dinner, look back here and write an honest rating like this one. It's the only way to let people know what they're getting into. So first let me say that the only reason 2 below is getting any stars at all is because the drivers/wait staff are great. They're nice, helpful, and great folks. The rest of the experience? Not so much. The sleigh ride starts in a big tent where you pay and sit around waiting for the mules and sleighs to show up. Ours were pretty late getting there and the driver explained that there was an accident earlier that caused everything to back up, so it took a while before we finally got loaded on the sleighs and headed out. Through the pitch black night, without even a lantern to light the way, you're basically just sitting there, freezing your butt in the dark. There are some heavy blankets in the sleigh that you can cover with and those help with the cold, but when I say it's dark, I'm not kidding. There is absolutely nothing to see because there is no light. Anywhere. It would have been great to have Christmas lights or something on the sleighs so you could at least see the person next to you, but no... When we finally arrived at the dinner tent, which really isn't a long ride - maybe 15 minutes or so - we entered and we were assigned to some large, but cramped tables. There were other tables available, but for some reason we were crammed around 5 tables when a 6th and 7th were available. Oh, there was also an old dude playing guitar and singing in the dining room when we pulled up. More on him later. Ok, the cramped conditions were uncomfortable but not a big a deal I guess...there were carafes of hot chocolate on the table and the waiters were quick to bring in some peppermint schnapps to spice things up. Things were, momentarily looking up. But then the meal happened. There were several people with dietary restrictions at our table that kept them from eating the soup that was served. So instead of the soup, they were given a plate of raw veggies and ranch dressing. It wasn't exactly a salad, but it was better than nothing. Maybe. And then came the main course. Now I've had some seriously bad steaks in my life and I know it's hard to grill chicken breast without drying it out, but this was ridiculous This steak was one of the worst I've ever had- luke warm, unseasoned, and rubbery - and the chicken was jerky. They also included a vegetable side of cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots that were boiled beyond recognition. For a place where they knew that they were going to serve up the same meal for everyone, that knew exactly who was coming and what time you were going to arrive, and that should have this down to a science by now, this meal was not just bad it was terrible. And judging from the number of plates that I saw get picked up with nearly all the food still on them, I wasn't alone in my assessment. Oh and remember the dietary restrictions? A guy at our table was dairy free. So for desert they served everyone apple pie covered in whipped cream and this poor guy gets a chocolate muffin that could have come out of the case at 7-11. Why not just prepare a slice of pie without the whipped cream?? And then there was the singing guy. Ummmmm... He's probably done the same show a thousand times over the past 12 years so you'd think he would have this down pat by now. Not so much. There's a reason that he's playing a gig in the forest when the audience can't leave until the mules are ready. read more

This was a pretty cool experience. The sleigh ride was really nice and the driver was nice and informative and answered all our questions about the mules and such. Also they had 5 sleighs going so we were not cramped at all. The dinner was setup very nice in a huge warm tent. They didn't cram us in at the tables either, they only put up 2 parties per table which left plenty of room for comfortability. They had a great live performer, David Peel. He tells great stories about how he became an actor in the 60s and 70s and some of the films he's been in, which I thought was pretty cool. The best part was the hot cocoa upon arrival to the tent. It was very good and they even come around with some peppermint schnapps to spike it up a little if you desire. The only downside was the food was not that great. They served steak and chicken, with some veggies and a baked potato. It was ok, but don't expect restaurant-quantity food. The other issue was they had no non-alcoholic beverages except pink lemonade and water. No coffee, no tea, and no sodas except one specific brand of root beer. Other than that it was a great experience definitely worth the $90 per person. We will be going back in June when they swap the sleigh tracks for wheels on the carts and serve a nice BBQ spread. It was a dreamy experience! We went as a family for thanksgiving reunion. It was a snowy day so we were a bit worried about the weather but it was totally fine, i think the ride was even better because of the snow. People were so nice and helpful, mules were so friendly and well groomed. My two year old boy loved them. Every single one in our group loved it, music was wonderful as well as hot coco & cookies. We took the scenic sleigh ride with four adults and three kids and it was fabulous. Our driver Pete was fun and informative, and the mules Jolene and Folly were sweet. The kids loved the ride, and it was delightful to get to the hot chocolate station and enjoy live music! Lots of gorgeous photo ops and family friendly games. Next time we return we will probably sign up for the dinner ride after such a great experience with the scenic ride! read more

The mules are very friendly and allow you to pet and interact with them. The little village pit stop mid way through the ride was a nice touch to the ride. The Hot chocolate and warm cookie was greatly appreciated on the cold winter day we visited. Disclaimer: I am only giving one star based on the friendliness of the staff. Do not fall for this scam. We visited Breckinridge from Florida, and I came across a sleigh ride from Two Below Zero. On paper it sounded great: a scenic sleigh ride with a fabulous meal and live music. The price seemed steep- but I knew it would be a once in a lifetime experience and it sounded like a lot of fun. Wrong. Once we boarded the sleigh with mules (not horses), we went on a 10 minute ride to a tent. Yes, it was a beautiful night, and the scenery was nice, but you barely get a chance to take it in. Once inside the tent, FIU sit at your table with your group. You are served hot chocolate from a carafe. Eh, it was ok. You can get a beer or wine, but that's extra. I feel like for the price of the experience, they could've included one complimentary beverage. Then the food came out. Dried chicken breast, well done steak, some sort of vegetable medley, and a semi-warm baked potato. If you r ever eaten at a place like Medieval Times, this experience kind of felt like that. My son didn't even eat his dinner. For dessert we got a slice of apple pie that was lukewarm. All the while, this guitarist is playing parts of country songs and telling his life story. He seemed like a nice gentleman but it was all too much. We were dying to get back to the parking lot and leave, but we had to wait until we could all board the sleighs. Once boarded, we took the ten minute ride back and it was over. We could not believe the price of this attraction for what we actually got. Buyer beware! read more

Such a fun experience!! I would definitely do this again. We did this around Christmas so it was a great family outing. The sleigh ride was fun and the dinner was quite good along with the entertainment. Something to note: they give you a blanket on the sleigh ride but, once the sun sets, it is COLD! Be sure you dress warm as you'll be outside for a good 20-30 minutes. The blanket is warm but I wish I would have worn more layers. My only true complaint on this was that the seating assignments on this were not very clear when we walked in. Lots of confusion but nothing that would keep me from doing it again. read more

This is an absolute when in Denver! You must make reservations prior then pay at the heated tent. It begins with a 4 horse drawn sleigh ride for about 12 with soft and warm blankets. A 20 minute ride through the snow covered fields to a large dining room that seats about 12 at each table. There is a singer with a guitar playing as you enter. Upon seated, you get rich dark hot chocolate with a shot of Peppermint Schnapps. There is beer and wine for $6 and the meal includes a delicious and hearty soup, both Sirloin & Grilled Chicken Breast, large baked potato, steamed vegetables and warm apple pie. The servers are the same drivers of the sleigh and they have great friendly personalities to make the visit full of fun. The service was very prompt and the food came out right away. The entertainment was very good. A musician from Nashville playing some of our favorites: Cash-Ring of fire, Diamond-Sweet Caroline, Skynyrd-Sweet Home Alabama. read more

This experience was ridiculous from beginning to end. Given an arrival time 30 min prior to anticipated departure time. Departure time was actually even later. So a 45 min or so of sitting in a tent listening to the same 4 songs on repeat. Oh, and porta potties. Instead of giving you a sleigh number upon payment, you are headed outside while a guy reads names off a list in the cold. Short ride with a driver who seems to be giving some tour info but only the 3 closest people could hear. Arrive at a tent, get a table assignment. Water and hot chocolate available on the table. A guy was singing. Staff came around with schnapps for the hot chocolate and offered wine and beer for sale. (I'm thinking a complimentary glass of wine or can of beer could have been included for the 80 dollar a person price tag.) Guy stops singing, a half bowl of luke warm chicken enchilada soup is served with some rolls. After a LONG time, a plate of nearly inedible food is delivered. Dry, flavorless chicken breast, baked potato not even hot enough to melt the single serve butters, microwaved "mixed veggie" blend of the Costco frozen bag variety and a steak with no flavor, cooked medium rare for everyone and looked like something from a cartoon. Only a few people at our table are more than a few bites. Singing guy returned to the stage for some odd and ridiculous song choices (mostly NOT country although it was billed that way.). He told some long stories no one listened to (lots of phone usage). At this point we were considering a sleigh-jacking to escape the situation. Cold apple pie with whipped cream was served. Most guests were visibly bored, children had long since gone to sleep, and the staff closed beer and wine checks. The "show" which was basically 5-6 half songs with some inane story telling ended as ridiculously as it started. We were dismissed and returned for a much shorter (thankfully by this time in the evening) trip back to the white tent and parking lot. A $200 dollars for bad food, 1 wine, 1 beer. Sleigh ride was lame, "show" was non existent. Arrive at 7:15 to finally get back to the parking lot at 10:30. Arrival at the car and ability to leave: priceless. read more

We've experienced Two Below's wonderful summer dinner show three times! Each time is better than the last. It starts out with a beautiful wagon ride pulled by two huge mules. When you arrive at the tent, you are set free to play games... my family learned to lasso a bull this time around, but in the past we've played with hoola hoops and other fun games. We very much enjoyed the dinner feast... especially my 9-year-old daughter, who ate every one of her "whistle berries!" Cobbler and coffee were a perfect ending to the dinner. The show was so much fun - everyone was laughing and playing along. The kids in the audience were especially talkative, and the actors were quick to incorporate their funny musings into the show. My daughter was begging us to book another visit before we even got back to the car! We'll certainly be back. Don't hesitate to book this fun, family friendly experience!
