We were immediately taken by the building itself and the historic vibe was indeed strong. One felt that it was part museum, and the interior design and decor added to that impression. A lot of thought obviously went into the design and implementation of this restaurant. We were led upstairs to the dining room / bar. Happily we had a table next to a large window so we could enjoy the view as the sun set provided colors on the mountain. Our server Eric was friendly and knew the answers to our questions, and we ordered several appetizers and the Colorado rack of lamb. We sat inside and it was a bit chilly by the windows but it was lovely to see the passersby and be tucked away in a corner. The appetizers were amazing: lobster rolls that melted in my mouth and could have been my main meal, the pani puri was exceptional and a celebration on the tongue! For dinner we shared the crispy chicken with manchego polenta and it was fire! We both had a glass of wine. My husband had the Four Graces Pinot Noir (we were members of their wine club so we knew this would be amazing), and I had a bolder red that was fabulous! For dessert we ordered the Palisade baked apple dish and I don't usually like baked apples but this was excellent! We wouldn't hesitate to return on our next trip to Breck!

Very misleading tipping practice…read more We ordered from the Happy Hour menu, which was buy one, get one free. At checkout, the suggested tip showed 20% as about $12. I left a $10 tip, but after checking the receipt, I realized the suggested tips were calculated based on the full price before the Happy Hour discount, not the amount we actually paid. My $10 tip ended up being about 26% of the actual bill. The service was good, and I'm happy to tip for good service. But how much I tip should be my choice. If suggested tips are based on the pre-discount total, that should be clearly disclosed instead of presenting it in a way that can mislead customers. As for the food, everyone has different tastes. We personally found it average. Good service, but very disappointing lack of transparency.

Employees: The Hostess was friendly and got us seated right away. The Bartenders (Mike and George) made our evening a blast. Mike Ruda has a signature drink on the menu that he created called the Duck Fat Cadillac and it is a home run cocktail (10 out 10)!! George Johnson is a great conversationalist and is engaged with the customers. We showed him a twist to our favorite drink back home in San Antonio, the Carajillo and he made it perfectly! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Breckenridge and make sure you grab a seat at the bar and enjoy the conversations and the Duck Fat Cadillac!!
