Stopped in for a pre-dinner drink and app and had a nice experience. We were expecting a bit of a speakeasy vibe, but this felt more like an extension of the restaurant above. Everything we had was good, but for the price I would say not really, which is why I knocked off a star. My glass of Cab was $18 - about the average price of wine on the menu. My husband had the Old Fashioned and a Manhattan (both with Rye) and said they were some of the better-made cocktails he's had, but at the cost of $20 each not really worth it. We shared the biscuits and they were pretty good, but a little hard and didn't a ton of flavor I was expecting from the cheese. Service was excellent. The Carlin is a nice addition to downtown Breck, but definitely more on the upscale side with the prices.

After seeing their May 1/2 off dining and happy hour specials, we made a reservation here on a Monday. We even showed up a little early to take advantage of the half-off drink specials. I tried two different cocktails: the Duck You and the American Idiot. Both were delicious. My wife enjoyed two different beers. I also had a glass of cab with my entree. We split three of the happy hour-priced appetizers: buttermilk Gruyère biscuits, jalapeño hush puppies, and the oven roasted olives. The biscuits were fine, but the other two were delicious. The hush puppies were the best. My wife went with the short rib entree, and after we saw another come out, I did as well. It was huge, and even though I'm not usually big on short rib, I thought the beef and accompaniments were fantastic. Great meal start to finish, and the specials made it even better. We'd definitely come back here again.

Awesome burger

I had the cheeseburger and it was phenomenal. It was cooked a perfection and had some good toppings and I will definitely return before I leave the Breckenridge area. We were quickly greeted and seated. The staff was very nice and attentive. It's a very clean restaurant and they kept the dirty plates moving. The setting was urban chic if that describes it.

My new favorite spot in Breck! Our group got in to town late for the weekend we had dogs with us, it was freezing, and we were stuck trying to find dinner. The staff here, especially the manager, were phenomenal!! They got the fire place up and running for us on the patio and were super attentive getting us drinks and all warmed up! The food and drinks were absolutely fantastic! We had the lobster dip, hush puppies, and oysters to start then the chicken sandwich, po' boy, burger, and fish tacos for mains all were awesome! Seriously stop in for a bite and a drink you won't regret it!

Awesome vibe, great drinks and really good service by the bartenders. A nice getaway in Breckenridge without a tourist feel! Ask for Michael behind the bar!

The service and the food can't be beat! Went for our anniversary meal and were pleasantly surprised by the off season entree discount. The low lighting, green interior, and wood accents create a cozy spot for drinks, dinner or both!

Great cocktails and amazing service. We stopped in for happy hour and ended up having a few apps as well.

Went here for a birthday dinner while in Breckenridge and it did not disappoint! Food was delicious and well-made. Our server was very friendly, attentive, but also gave us our space to enjoy our meal. The inside is vibey and gives romantic vibes without it being so dim. Would definitely come back!

Winter Blanket & Peach Betty

We came right at opening (4pm) and we had a reservation (recommended) for pre-dinner drinks. The ambiance is so cool - super modern, gold prospector, mixed with a bit of Scandinavian vibes (lots of little nooks for booths and liquor on the wall). The drinks we ordered were decisively declared to be in our top 10 cocktails! Service was friendly and welcoming. Great recommendations were made based on our preferences. Our favorite was the alchemist, but the peach Betty was great (and came with a snack!!).

Dynamite shrimp - full of flavor

Pros and cons. Pros and cons. Getting there was interesting ... there's a direct entrance at the foot of the stairs if you walk past The Carlin ... or you can walk up the stairs into The Carlin and take a back elevator down to the tavern. We'd made reservations and were seated promptly - which is great. Our server was incredibly friendly ... but overall the service had several misses. We ordered two orders of dynamite shrimp but only got one (ended up having to ask twice more, once a different server (manager?)), drinks were prompt though ... but the mains took what seemed like forever. We were there a long time. The drinks were QUITE good. We tried a variety of their cocktails and each was met with rave reviews. The food was variable based on table commentary. Would definitely recommend the dynamite shrimp -- they were extremely tasty battered shrimpy delights. The nachos, on the other hand, I'd probably not order again. They were surprisingly good for being so lightly dusted with toppings ... but after a day of skiing, this was a little too frou-frou for me. A brief note on the mains we ordered: Yaki-soba: seemed out of place on the menu, but felt very much at home in my belly. Steak frites: overcooked stake abed an over-blended and extra-vinegary chimichurri. 1/2 eaten, 1/2 left behind. Burger: quite tasty, quite big, and utterly disappeared. Fried Chicken Sandwich: also tasty & big, 1/2 of it went home. Fish tacos: edible, I guess. 1 eaten, 1 left behind. Cheesesteak: delicious and destroyed. Nom. When half a person's meal is abandoned I expect a place like this to ask if everything was okay. They didn't. And didn't seem to clue into the fact that we'd waited a long time or had to repeat ourselves. What we didn't have to do, though, was holler to hear each other. Despite a bar area that dominated the restaurant, we appeared to show up just as the aprés crowd was leaving. The place shifted a bit from tavern vibe to restaurant vibe as we got seated and we felt very comfortable in the mellow well-decorated space. Nothing went so awry that I'd refuse to be back, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to make sure I returned. May your experience be better.

This place was great. Dale the bartender was very friendly and had great recommendations. We had a great experience and will definitely be back to try the burger! The ambiance is beautiful. We did have shrimp and fries that definitely hit the spot!

Walking in on a cold February day, the mood and ambiance were warm and inviting. The downstairs bar was lively, and the wood ceiling and decor definitely gave off a classic aged lodge feel. We were seated upstairs per our Yelp reservations. A collection of canteens hung on the wall, which sparked a fun conversation and history lesson for my twins. Since they're part of the CamelBak and Stanley cup generation, they hadn't seen anything like them before. My son was impressed by the size of the kids' burger, and the fries were great. The rest of us had the NY Strip. I'd say it was good, but not great--though I did appreciate the blackened seasoning and the chimichurri. The grilled asparagus, however, was simply fantastic. The showstopper was the upside-down apple pie with what seemed to be homemade vanilla ice cream. Both were generous portions and kindly comped by our server for my birthday. I ordered my standard Ranch Water, though it unfortunately didn't come in their traditional canteen cup. Overall, it's a great spot. I look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Colorado.

When we arrived, there was a medical situation with a guest, and an ambulance came to assist. Obviously, that takes priority, and we were patient and understanding. However, after the situation cleared, we continued waiting another 20 minutes. During that time, several groups who arrived after us were seated first. When I politely asked the host about our status, I was told those groups were seated because they were smaller parties. That didn't appear to be accurate, and when I mentioned that, the response quickly became rude and dismissive. At that point, we decided there was no reason to stay and left for dinner elsewhere. The next day, we ate at Tin Plate Pizza--fantastic food and excellent service. Ironically, while walking past Bird and Cow afterward, we noticed their kitchen area through an open back door, and it did not appear clean or well-kept. In hindsight, we're glad things worked out the way they did--but overall, this was a frustrating experience driven by inaccurate wait times and poor customer service.

The food is slightly above average; the real attraction is the great selection of beers on tap. We can say that the Brewer's Mac n Cheese, Rainbow Trout, and Wild Game Meatloaf are worth ordering - well crafted, generous portions, and good tucker after a day of skiing. The burgers are standard pub fare (it's too bad they dropped the elk burger which was a definite winner!) BB has a phenomenal assemblage of beers which cater to a variety of palates. Our go-to's are the Avalanche Amber and Juice Drop Hazy but you really can't go wrong with their rotation. We do want to credit the staff. They really do make the BB experience what it is - they maintain great attitudes and deliver exceptional service while taking care of a full house of thirsty apres skiers. BB has a well-worn atmosphere and could probably use a refresh but is otherwise an inviting environment because of the care and consideration of the servers and bartenders. Any visit to Breck is incomplete without hoisting a few at BB!

Was greeted promptly upon entering and directed to the bar to place a to go order. I had limited time because had to catch a bus. The ambiance was fun with TV screens around to watch various sporting events. I was watching A&M get beat by Miami while waiting for my food order to be prepared. They have the silver brewery tanks where they brew their beer on site behind the bar area. They had a bunch of unique brews but I am not a beer person. I found a seat at the bar and the bartender came to take my order. I mentioned that I was on a time crunch with having to catch the bus in approximately 35 minutes and just wanted to check to see if the kitchen could accommodate my schedule. I was a bit taken aback when he responded that he couldn't guarantee anything and the electricity could go out.... So I was going to pass on ordering, but then he said we better get my order in then. So I put in an order for fish and chips. Then he said the kitchen should not have a problem accommodating that time window. He brought me some water and I enjoyed watching the football game while I waited for my to-go order. The food was ready in plenty of time for me to make it to the bus stop. It was packed nicely and came in a paper bag. I was able to enjoy it at the bus stop. Fish and Chips with Avalanche Ale battered white fish, fries, tartar. The fish has a nice batter but was a bit bland and could have used more salt or other seasoning. It really needed the tartar sauce to complete the flavor profile. The fries were light and crispy. Overall the food was what I would expect from a brewery. Nice place to go in breck to enjoy beer and food while watching a sporting event.
