Visited for their lunch special. AFTER paying $14 I was told there was pepperoni, cheese and veggie. I was served two slices of pepperoni. After finishing them, I was told that lunch was over (1:35PM) and that they had "a couple slices of cheese or veggie" but could make no more. All I can eat was the offer and they fell woefully short. I've come to expect better from Slam Dunk being locally owned. The service is AWFUL. One register to handle all pick up orders, in house orders, and questions? The flow of the staff is horrible. I was in line for over 15 minutes and not one transaction was made. There was a guy counting change, and a girl who was just standing there staring at everyone in line. There were 2 people taking phone orders. The line in-house was at least 10 deep. We have been here twice. The first time we went it was during the less busy time of day, so we could play games and eat our food without being annoyed. I agree with other reviews stating when you walk in you have no idea where to go. There should be a menu on the wall with pizza trays to show you how big the pizzas are. The arcade is very dirty, and the games are overpriced. I also didn't like how the build a bear thing is set up. Nothing is posted that tells you prices or what your options are. When I asked the girl behind the counter she had no idea and sent me to the front. They had no idea either and had to send someone else to help me. There were no forks and when I alerted staff to this I stood there with my bowl of salad for 10 minutes before someone finally brought them over to the salad bar. During that 10 minutes about 5 staff members stood in a circle chatting and giggling. Doing nothing really while one girl tried to take orders from a huge line of people. There are no safety precautions regarding children in the arcade area. There is a door that anyone could escape with a child through and drunk parents drinking beer everywhere with their toddlers unattended running around. The pizza is okay and I was told they were out of many things when I tried to order other foods. After having a not so pleasant phone call experience with the area pizzeria, Saucy, I came across this restaurant. I thought I would give it a try. I'll share with you my experience. My call was promptly answered. The associate who answered my call wasn't excessively friendly, but wasn't horribly rude either. I reviewed the menu available before calling. I ordered a mini vegetarian pizza. I also ordered the cinnamon knots as I was in the mood for dessert. I wasn't sure if I wanted to leave the hotel or not, so I asked about a delivery charge. She let me know it was $4 and they stopped delivering at 9:00, which was quickly approaching. A little steep if you ask me, so I opted for pick up. When I arrived the front of the parking lot was pretty full. I found a spot and walked it. A family had just walked in in front of me and were perusing the menu. I waited. And waited. And waited. While the family was reviewing their options there was no attempt to greet me or assist me in any way. There were about 4 associates standing around talking. Once the family had decided and ordered (about 10-15 minutes later), I was able to pay for the order I placed. After receiving the pizza, it was a sizable personal pizza. The staff whom I spoke with make the mini seem very small. It is 8 inches in diameter, I believe. It had 6 slices. The pizza itself was cooked thoroughly (nothing is worse than a doughy pizza). I was excited to dive into the knots. The knots didn't have a great description on their menu. My expectations was that it would be a doughy dessert much like a cinnamon roll. My expectations were incorrect. They're actually more crunchy...similar to the Taco Bell Cinnamon Twist. Overall, the food was mediocre. I wasn't excessively impressed and it wasn't horrible. The service needs some work, for sure. BOTTOM LINE: Would I eat there again? Maybe. It's not a resounding yes. read more

I give this business 5 stars because it's the only place in Ukiah to get actual gluten free pizza... Every other place that serves gluten free in Ukiah does not use separate surfaces and cooking utensils to cut and prepare pizza. If someone is actually a Celiac, not just eating gluten free, they know this is an important detail of the gluten free moniker that this place actually cares enough to adhere to. Plus, the pizza is great, and fairly priced! Mostly high-schoolers working in here but they're doing a great job; the pizza is even better than back when the place was still Miller's. Contrary to other reviews, the flow is entirely obvious: as soon as you walk in the register counter (and behind that the pizza oven) are immediately to your left. Not once have I walked in there without someone working there ready to greet me and take my order as soon as I entered. My other half and I ordered a small, half BBQ chicken, half pepperoni pizza and two liter of soda to go. While we waited we played in their arcade/fun center. What a blast! Our expectations were blown away. For about $20 we had a surprisingly good sized small pizza, soda, and entertainment while we waited. A couple weeks ago we had to cancel the delivery because at an hour and a half, pizza wasn't even made yet. Tonight we waited almost 2 1/2 hours and got the wrong order. This is just what Ukiah needs. A great pizza place to eat and go with your family and friends. The building has been completely redone, and is bright and clean and the decor reflects all of our Northern California Sports teams. But what you really want to know about, is the pizza!! It is so tasty. The dough is baked just right, the sauce is yummy and they have so many great varieties of pizza. The Pesto Chicken with carmelized onions was SOOO tasty. Also tasted the veggie, Hawaiian, and combo and all were equally as tasty. There is a beautiful salad bar with all the fixin's.
