Pilon Kitchen did our rehearsal dinner a month ago and it was AMAZING! They offered such a nice variety of options for appetizers (we had the tequenos and empanadas, with delicious sauces), arepas for dinner, followed by a nice mixture of dessert options including a wonderful tres leches mousse! All guests left the dinner happy and full from the delicious meal! In addition to the great food, Pilon's service is excellent - they arrived to the event on time, served all of the guests promptly, and were very responsive to emails and questions leading up to the event. We had a food truck in mind and when we saw Pilon's reviews and menu, we were very excited. I reached out and Erick and Sauli were so warm from the beginning. They gave us details on menu options, pricing and logistics, and without having a tasting due to the distance, we confidently booked them. Six months before our wedding, we were going to go to the venue for a site visit and arranged to meet Erick and Sauli at the farmers market in their hometown of Ukiah. They were even more lovely in person and spoiled us with tastings of their menu options. We were blown away. The tequeños, the beans, the arepas. Everything was delicious. Leading up to the wedding, they addressed all of our questions and concerns thoughtfully and quickly and even asked about our wedding colors and other details so they could decorate the already cute green truck so it would fit in with our aesthetic. Our only drawback was that there wasn't enough, as the portions were relatively small. This could be a subjective thing and is why food tasting prior to booking is important so as to get a grasp of the portions. The food truck itself was really cute and presentable. Pilon, knowing it was a wedding, took the extra step and asked us what our wedding scheme was, so that they could match the dishware and cutlery to our theme. They literally went the extra mile for us going to the site in Philo to see what problems they might have getting their trailer into the venue in advance. My husband and I got married on August 3rd and Pilón Kitchen catered for our wedding in Hopland, CA. They did an amazing job!! When we were shopping around for vendors, Sauli and Erick invited us over to taste their food and we immediately knew that this was the perfect fit. Not only are they both so warm and friendly, but we could tell right away that they were invested in making our day special. Their food was also incredible (our guests are still raving about it) and they were also so open to dietary needs. We had vegetarian guests, people allergic to nuts, vegans and I have celiac disease. Pilon did a wonderful job at our wedding welcome party for 80 people. They were set up for a couple hours; it worked out great as people were arriving at different times. The food was amazing, especially the tres leches cake. We live in San Francisco so we didn't get the chance to try the food beforehand, or meet them in person, but it was easy to plan and arrange with them over the phone and email. After scouring Mendocino and Sonoma for a caterer for our wedding (relatively last-minute and during a busy wedding season) we found the wonderful Erick and Saulí of Pilón kitchen. They were charming and warm to us and our guests, Serving the best arepas I have ever had! They created a basic catering plan to accommodate all our dietary needs: They made the Caesar salad dressing vegetarian for us, offered a vegan arepa option. Many of our guests asked us how we found them, asked us if we would try to get the recipe for their amazing beans.
