The wine was very good. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely want to go back. A peaceful retreat just off the 101!

Spread across acres of redwoods, this open air museum holds a collection of extraordinary stone art installations and a few unique dwellings perfect for retreats, weddings, and special events. Absolutely not to be missed when you're in the area. Plan at least 2-3 hours to enjoy the art rain or shine (as a matter of fact some installations come alive with color when raining). See www.Stoneranchmendo.com for the history, tours info, and venue rentals.

Close enough to the city for convenience, but far enough to feel like a true escape - Glynraven Gardens is a peaceful oasis. The amenities here go above and beyond - clean restrooms, hot showers, picnic tables, bbq grills, RV hookups, tent sites, yurts, and unique rooms make every stay comfortable. They also host events here such as weddings. There's even Wi-Fi if you want to stay connected. And when you're ready to explore beyond the gardens, it's an easy drive to downtown Ukiah, where you can stroll through their vibrant farmers market and enjoy the local charm. Whenever I need a break from the daily hustle, Glynraven is the first place that comes to mind. Unmatched hospitality, scenic hillside views, the quiet charm of the working farm, and the animals that calls this place home roaming freely all come together to create a breathtaking and unforgettable experience. Camping here is truly something special.

We had a talent show Friday night on the pool deck. We filled all of the accommodations with our dearest family and friends, and they all had quite the adventure! We were treated to the most beautiful sunsets. We had about 100 guests and had more than enough space. Our theme was colorful bohemian, and it fit the venue perfectly. We decorated with lots of lanterns, and had an LED dance floor. We had multiple people tell us it was "the best wedding" they've ever been to.

We were very excited to each have our own rooms with attached bathrooms, and felt like QUEENS... I personally was in Room #6 upstairs with a cute little balcony. The bed was so luxurious and ridiculously comfortable that it made it really hard to get out of bed and face the day (side note: they are clearly brand-new beds and incorrectly spoken about on that negative review, so take that one with a grain of salt, SMH); Some had deep jetted tubs, some had ADA walk-in showers, something to accommodate everyone's needs! Each bathroom even had extra amenities you wouldn't expect like make-up remover and cotton balls - such a nice touch! One thing I was worried about was the traffic noise at night, but it was not an issue at all, which just shows that the insulation renovations that were completed really were impeccable and every last comfort was thought of for their guests. Access to the kitchen and laundry facilities was also a huge plus as well for last minute weather needs! I highly recommend this gem in Sonoma County when you book your next wine country adventure! =)

This place is, by far, the most uncomfortable stay at any place, ever. History be damned. We were in a room RIGHT next to a main road that provided road and car noise all night long. It was LOUD. For myself, I experienced the worst two nights of 'sleep' that I can remember because of the noise and a mattress that should have been discarded YEARS ago. The gas fireplace didn't work. Zero instructions on how to get it lit. YouTubed how to get it lit, still didn't work. The condiment on this shit sandwich of a stay was the veranda outside our room having a security camera pointed directly toward the outside furniture where you'd sit. Zero chance of having ANY privacy. Its creepy and total bullshit. We can tell the place is owned by people that could not care less about the comfort of the guests, you're just income for them. Who puts cameras in private areas? We couldn't have disliked the place any more than we did. The place is a joke. It sure made a rough stay in Santa Rosa.

I didn't realize Nelson Family Vineyards was offering a historical reenactment experience, because…read morethe moment I walked in, it felt like I had accidentally stepped into a time period this country should've retired decades ago. The energy was very much "hospitality from a bygone era," and not in the quaint, charming way, more like the dusty, uncomfortable chapter no one should be proud of. While certain customers were treated like visiting dignitaries, I was met with the kind of selective service that made me wonder if I missed a sign on the door explaining what unspoken criteria you have to meet to get acknowledged. It's almost impressive how obviously the staff following the tone set by Tyler and Chris Nelson can divide the room without saying a single word. And the wine? Let's just say if you're going to run your service like it's stuck in a different century, at least make the wine good enough to distract people. Instead, the wines taste as tired as the attitude, flat, uninspired, and definitely not worth the emotional archaeology required to survive the vibe here. Meanwhile, others were getting the deluxe treatment while I stood around wondering if I needed to dust myself off to prove I wasn't part of the furniture. The whole experience felt like an unintentional social experiment in favoritism. Do yourself a favor and skip the time-travel tour. Dancing Crow down the road exists firmly in the present day, friendly staff, actual hospitality, and wine that tastes like it was made in this century, not the last three. Nelson Family Vineyards? If you like outdated attitudes and underwhelming wine, sure. Otherwise, keep driving.

Today we had excellent service from Nicolas who welcomed us into the cheerful holiday ambiance even though we arrived at 4:30pm, not long before the 5pm closing time. Nicolas did not rush us, gave us a bonus pour of sparkling to start off our Red Lovers tasting ($20), and allowed us to sample the chocolate made with cab. Today our favorite was the petit verdot. Thanks for the warm welcome, Nicolas!
