I like the food a lot. The service is hit and miss. but the biggest problem this place has is the wait. It is ALWAYS longer than they estimate. ALWAYS. Like we have waited a full 45 minutes+ past the time that yelp tells us to report in. read more

Such great food!! Wish I had one closer to me. We got the spinach dip to start, then I had the CA pizza and it was incredible. Highly recommend this place and that food. So yummy it was gone before I got a picture read more

We've visited a few times now. Have been with different groups and just the two of us. Good and not so good each time! The Garlic Breath appetizer is a sure winner if you love garlic! We get that every time! The Cobb salad has been a hit each time I've gotten it and my love and I share that with enough and to spare - that's how large it is! The pizza...um, well, it's hit and miss. We realize we're a little more finicky than most and probably a bit too particular in what we consider "excellent." Tonight with friends who'd not been here before, they were "meh" with the pizza. One came out entirely burnt all around the crust. I mean charred! The person sitting behind one of our friends, her pizza also came out worse looking than our friends did. She wouldn't even let the waiter set it down! He took hers away, brought it back and told her to "snack on it" until they made her a fresh one. The people behind us pizza was also very burned. Our sweet friends partner wouldn't eat it but also wouldn't send it back. He didn't want to make a fuss. So we called for the waiter, who called for the manager (Tony) who was unbelievably accommodating and not only took it off their bill but made a fresh one "on the house" for him. He took it to go! (We peeked at it and it looked superb!) Now THAT is wonderful 5 Star service! Our Sparta pizza we ordered double extra mushrooms and onions with extra Alfredo sauce as the base. NOT ONE MUSHROOM ON OUR PIZZA!!! Not one! But they hit the pedal in the feta cheese distributor as you almost couldn't decipher what was underneath the feta - it was that heavy!! Last time - it was perfect. This time. A disaster. Dry. The pizza wasn't burnt but the veggies on it were. We did get a few extra onions but we're discovering these guys don't understand the meaning of "DOUBLE EXTRA!' We didn't send it back and we didn't mention it. Our waiter "Denis" (that's how he spells it) we've had the pleasure of having twice in a week (!) has been exceptional both times! We liked him more than we liked our food! Truly a wonderful waiter and just a super friendly guy! Ask for him! He's the best! All in all...I give the appetizer a 5 star, the Cobb a 5 star, but the pizza which is the MAIN EVENT, was a huge disappointment - hence the 3 star rating! (I wish I could rate the service separately and I'd give them a 5 star for that alone!) read more

I found this place while searching for pizzas in Sandy and this came on top of the list - the famous local pizza place. We had to go there :) I called them up and got the reservation and yes this place is very good :) The staff was friendly, on time service, yummy food and decent vegetarian options. We ordered stuffedgarlic bread and From The Earth pizza as we wanted to try something different. It was quite nice! read more

Food is consistently really great and the kitchen is fast (nice when you have a kid with you). We regularly go to both the Sandy and Downtown location and have always had wonderful experiences and great service. Huge rotating beer/cider menu as well, so you can always find something interesting and new to try! read more

Fantastic pizza with a great variety and flavor in each style. Crust is super good too. It's not thin crust not thick crust but right in the middle. Some good crunch combined with a nice chewiness. Tons of great beer, low key atmosphere and super tasty Buffalo wings. read more

Always a good time when we come, I love this place for a fun night out and a place to grab some yummy drinks

We stumbled upon this place because I was asking random people what were some good local restaurants. A lady recommended Slackwater as one of her favorites, amongst other options. We took her advice & she couldn't have made a better recommendation. We had their Spin-Art Dip for appetizer & their Buffalo Chicken Pizza & a second pizza but I can't quite remember the name. I just remember everything tasting so yummy! Pizza had a nice crunch to it! Service was awesome! read more

Fun vibe! Really unique and delicious pizza and mouthwatering cocktails. Huge beer list. Great system to get in the waitlist ahead of time!

The food was decent but I have found better pizza elsewhere. The place was quite loud and it was hard to hear your table. The wait times are long but the service is really good. I think it's worth a try, just not for me. read more

What a nice surprise! Great pizza & beer, with many choices. Service with a smile, and prompt.

This pizza place and bar is a nice oasis in the southern SLC area. They have a large beer selection and you will find an interesting toppings combo on a pizza that is sure to satisfy. read more

Server in the "Coors" sweatshirt was far to chill to actually do her job. The floor was disgusting covered in food and trash but the waitstaff had loads of extra time to chat together in the corner. Probably why they forgot our silverware, plates and napkins. They really didn't have time to refill out drinks or check if our food was ok. I bet it's a super fun place to "work" if you are in your 20's. Food is pretty good but don't expect it to be clean or see your server again after the food is dropped off on your table. read more

Couldn't have had a better experience! We were visiting from out of town for work and hosted a fairly large group for lunch. The staff was extremely helpful, most notably our server Daveed. He was awesome! The food was also very good (at a great price). I'll definitely be trying a pizza next time. I'll be back next time I'm in town! read more

No soup for you! Joined the Yelp waitlist and and felt like royalty walking to the front of the line. Of course when you are an Orbee people tend to stare anyway. The mulligatawny soup is inspired by the classic Seinfeld episode "No soup for you!", and for good reason. It is delicious, even on a hot summer day. The cheese filled breadsticks are a delicacy and not to be missed. The pizza flavors explode like a party in your mouth. The peach salad was a nice seasonal addition. read more

Great service, good vibe and an array of options for beer. Tried the California pizza, was pretty good but nothing to die for. Got it with garlic olive oil. Although they have some healthy options like soups and salad, I wish they had some grilled protein options as well I'm not a huge fan of pizza. I like that they have gluten-free your options as well. read more

Every time we go here it reminds us of Phoenix, AZ. It's like our little getaway in town. Our favorite pizza is the Philly cheesesteak that is sadly a special. But I don't ish it was a regular. They have an amazing beer selection!! read more

So good!! Incredible unique pizza. Loved the live music. And checking in online made the wait so much better!

Finally was able to make it up to try Slackwater. It's been on the list for a while. The space is open and clean and an eclectic mix of decorations. We decided we definitely needed to try the nachos and they were delicious. The chips themselves have great seasoning and then lots of other good stuff. Tried the Buffalo chicken pizza and gyro trip pizza. A great variety of toppings, with the chicken and bacon and onions and cheese. I do wish there was a bit more sauce because I could mostly only taste the Buffalo sauce as I got the crust. There is a good amount of Gorgonzola crumbles. Personal taste I would ask for a little bit less because it's the predominant flavor. But if you love Gorgonzola you will love the amount. The gyro trip was intriguing and fresh. Pretty good. The pizza crust has good taste and good chew. My friend who is allergic to wheat got the gluten free crust and while a little thin, she did say it's one of the better gluten free crusts she has had. Definitely a place I will return to! read more

Better to eat and then have it to go portions are smaller when you have it to go and they didn't always get it right otherwise while dining in it is great read more

I have been wanting to check this place out for a minute. We finally made it after visiting the RV show this past weekend. On Sat at 5pm- the place was already hopping. All in all- it was just ok. The menu lacked variety- typical bar food. But nothing stupendous. They do not have a full bar- beer and wine only. If that is what you're looking for- this place will get the job done. But all in all I felt the experience was lackluster. read more

After a cold snowy day of skiing, Slackwater really hit the spot. There were a ton of pizzas from which to choose and I went for the honey pepperoni. I'm still thinking about it! read more

Service- 5 stars Environment- 5 stars We had the check your garlic breath appetizer, a pizza, and 2 sammys. The appetizer had delicious Gorgonzola spread but not nearly enough baguette slices for the amount of cheese spread they served it with. They're serving more than they need to for the quality of the appetizer. The baguette was slightly over toasted but it was good overall. The crust on the pizza was delicious... I don't even care about the toppings it was so good. The Tree Hugger was good, but the balsamic reduction overpowered everything else. The texture was great but it had no flavor aside from the balsamic... I think the sandwich would have been better without. The house made chips were great though. The beer list is pretty extensive... especially for a place in Utah. It was good, not great but I'll be back. read more

Excellent place! Visiting from out of state and my brother took us here. We got there around 4pm and we're able tog eat seated right away! Seems like a great place to just hang out or even catch a game Can't say enough about the staff. Jake our server was awesome. Super friendly and helpful! He recommended spicy marinara sauce with loaded stick. It was great! A nice kick with a smokey flavor too it. The Honey DP pizza was really good! I have never in my life associated honey with pizza until now. A little honey drizzled over the top gave it a slight kick with a sweet finish. I don't drink alcohol anymore so was even more pleased when I saw they had some non-alcoholic beers available. When I'm back in the area I will be making my way here again for sure! read more

Brought the family to Slackwater for Sunday dinner see what they hype was all about. We started with the nachos. The burnt ends on the nachos and chili verde were phenomenal. Kids ordered cheese pizza. I ordered a GF sausage and pepperoni. My wife got the pa'la (Hawaiian). Pizzas were good. Mine was a little cold. I think it may have sat for a little while before they brought it out. Loved the live entertainment. Two musicians performing covers. Good stuff. read more

Slackwater has been kn my list of food places to hit up in the last few months. Got a chance to hit it up with my hommie - love the huge selection of beers, menu has a lot of good options (limited on choices, but good options), and a pretty stellar pizzar menu. Service was amazing, sat at the bar. Our two servers were mad dope, gave us some good recommand looked out for us. Somebody said "best wings I have ever had" and they were subpar. But not bad! Would definitely come back to this spit and recommend. Wil lbe a dope spot to kickit outside during the spring, summer and early fall. (forgot to take pictures of my food Faaaawwwwkkk ) read more

I didn't want to believe the hype, but Slackwater is worth every penny. With an outdoorsy, hipster-but-not-snooty vibe, Slackwater reminds me of a certain brewpub I used to frequent in Portland, OR (if you know, you know). Their bottle and draft list is extensive and--by Utah standards--pretty impressive. Food was fantastic. We got Nate's wings and the pizza special, which had roasted figs, chevre, and a few other things I forget. Not only was the food great, but it was also affordable. In a time where every other establishment is jacking up their prices with reckless abandon (I saw an order of 8 wings for $16 the other day. That's $2 per wing!), Slackwater seems to keep things reasonable. I can't remember for sure but I got either 10 or 12 wings for about $13. And from a wing connoisseur such as myself I can honestly say they were right up there with some of the best wings I've ever had. The pizza was awesome, and not too pricy either (around $14). I would expect a pizza like this elsewhere to be around $18 or $20. All in all, great experience. I'll be back as soon as I can. read more
