We have been to Slackwater several times. The food was better a year ago. The staff was way better a year ago.

Finally, a restaurant that will serve me three entire garlic heads as an appetizer. Seriously though, the Garlic Breath was amazing, one of my favorite parts of the meal. We also got the Buffalo wings, which were super duper crispy. And the pizzas were tastefully composed and hit the spot, especially the Chicken Bro-Do. We love slackwater! The nachos are amazing and definitely worth ordering. The pork on it was really good (not fatty) The cheese bread sticks (basically a calzone stuffed with cheese then cut into sticks) is SO good!! We love spicy stuff but the Diablo sticks were not our favorite. The spicy marinara is more Smokey and doesn't have that sweet element that you associate with a marinara so for us we will stick with traditional marinara next time. And note to self, pizzas are way better as a calzone! The calzone crust is soft and breadstick like. Pizza crust was not as good in our opinion! read more

We've been here a few times and it's always been a solid go-to. Today we ordered the bloody sake (knock off Bloody Mary made with sake) which was a 6/10. We also ordered the passion fruit mimosa.. which was very much on the sweet side, 4/10. The green goddess pizza is a 9/10 in my book and quite possibly the best pizza in the south part of the valley. Overall slack water is a gem here in Herriman and easily beats out any "bar and grill" competition around. A nice treat is to stop by for brunch. Great chicken tikka masala pizza and garlic breath appetizer! Delicious!!!! I was blown away with how delicious both things were. The chicken tikka masala pizza had a great crust. I was skeptical but people seemed to like it and I love chicken tikka masala so gave it a try. I'm sure glad I did! You could taste the Indian spices in the masala. The rice on the pizza was good too. The pizza came with a small cup of the tikka masala sauce too. I highly recommend this pizza. The garlic breath appetizer was super good. I was impressed with how much food came with the appetizer. It was great value for the price it is. Three heads of roasted garlic, many pieces of toasted bread with pesto on it, and a large cup of creamy Gorgonzola cheese with diced tomatoes and onions. The garlic was super good with the dip. The garlic cloves I dug out with a fork and added them on top of the dip. My husband smashed his cloves out with his hand. My husband ordered the gyro trio pizza. He easily ate the entire pizza and most of our appetizer. The pizzas aren't super big but for me, it was the perfect size and I had leftovers. He liked his pizza but liked mine much more. I did curbside pickup. There is one curbside pickup spot. It's a handicap spot that has a takeout sign over it. There are still two other handicap spots in the front. There was quite a wait (5 minutes) to place out to go order. I almost hung up and ordered takeout from elsewhere because it was quite a while. I paid over the phone, which made the pick up process much quicker. When I arrived to pick up my food, it was out to my car within 5 minutes of calling. I will be back to Slackwater Pizza and order the chicken tikka masala pizza and garlic breath appetizer again. read more

Attentive, fun waitstaff. Packed on a Wednesday at 6 but zero wait for a table of 2. The spinach artichoke dip was just okay- I can definitely make better. The margherita pizza was a little vinegary but still good. And I LOVED the thanksgiving pizza. What the heck. How did they pull that off? Mashed potatoes on pizza? Don't be afraid. Just do it. We came here on Sunday evening, about an hour before closing. This wasn't the first time though -- we've tried coming here on a Saturday before, and the place was packed, the waitlist insane. Luckily we were able to sit at the bar right away the second time we visited. Love the EXTENSIVE beer list. I really want to come back and try more, but we only ordered a few. We were pleased with all the beers we tried. I cannot for the life of me remember the beer names or recognize them on their beer list online. We ordered a Half Caesar salad, Nate's Buffalo Wings, and the Pua'a Luau pizza to share. The personal pizza size is good for two people to share and a great price in comparison to other places. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors are all there, but I don't like when the crust is super thick yet the inner part of the pizza is thin and limp. The buffalo wings were delish and definitely hit the spot. They give you a big ol' bowl of blue cheese and/or ranch, too. The Caesar was excellent -- loved the tangy dressing and crostini that came with it. Pretty much stole this from the BF... Overall prices are very fair, and our bartender + the rest of the staff were cool enough to let us watch the end of a very interesting MLB game that was on. Our bartender was very friendly and chatty, which we enjoyed. I will definitely come back, solo or not. I will just have to avoid busy weekend times or call in way ahead of time. read more

Definitely hit or miss depending on what you get! We loved the ambiance and our server was so sweet. There doesn't seem to be a high expectation for staff but they do their job and they are attentive and just seem like cool individuals. Tiki masala pizza was what I came for and it just didn't meet my expectations. I expected it to be much saucier with more chicken. But I was able to get the gluten free at this location which tasted amazing in itself. My husband got the buffalo pizza and it was so bomb. I don't even like buffalo and I was feeling it more then my pizza! We also got the spin art dip and it was just okay. I wish there was more spinach and artichoke but my husband loved it!!! Great food! I got the nachos which were big enough for 2-3 people the share! My friends got the pizzas and they were delicious. They have vegan and gluten-free options as well as gluten-free beer as well. It wasn't took busy and they were able to seat us quickly. The weight staff was very nice and was able to help us choose a good beer. They did get a little rowdy as the night progressed so just be aware of that. It's not bad just can get loud. read more

We wife an I make an all time best place to eat and Slackwater is now in the top spot for Salt Lake. The check in was super smooth and accurate and it seemed like everyone was so dang happy to be there. The manager, Joey (I believe) sat us and was genuinely excited that this was our first time here. It got better from there as we had Jackie as our server. We needed up with the Tiki Misala and the Iron Horse. It's hard to explain how amazing these pizzas are, I would even call them a pizza. Even though the place was super full, it was spaced enough for us to enjoy a private conversation and enjoy the great live music. We never felt rushed and the prices were honestly super fair. Updating my review just to leave another 5 stars! I looove coming here and will suggest it whenever friends want to go out for drinks and food. Last night 7 of my coworkers and I went out to celebrate a birthday. One of my coworkers is lactose intolerant and ordered a somewhat-specific pizza to accommodate that. The kitchen made her first pizza with cheese so they brought it out to us and let us snack on it while they remade her food correctly. She was totally fine with waiting for it but then the amazing manager (did not get his name) comped her meal regardless just for the wait! Been going here for years! It's been consistently delicious! They have some of the best food in Utah and definitely the best beer selection. I love the live music and the option to sit inside or on their beautiful patios. The service was not good the last time we were here. The hostess acted like we were bothering her and the waitress didn't even introduce herself and just let us know they were out of GF pizza so we left... very awkward visit BUT this is one bad time out of probably fifty great times. The staff is almost always the best so I'm going to assume it was because of the holidays so I'll definitely be back and I'll definitely still recommend them to all my friends and family. read more

I started with a healthy-ish choice of a Cobb salad with chicken but curiosity got the best of me with the "you'll be stuffed sticks". The title is accurate- rich, tasty ricotta cheese in a pillowy pocket... I ate the whole thing solo! The sauce is tasty too. The salad was crisp and well portioned. I added the grilled chicken as well and it was seasoned to perfection. No complaints here the entire meal was delicious. The wait staff was on point and friendly. Enough said here. All the 'za, all the vibes. Get a reservation! I have come here for lunch with work colleagues multiple times, only after one failed attempt to come in for dinner when a friend was visiting in town. It was a sunny and warm Saturday evening in the late spring, so they were understandably busy. Coming with work colleagues is a delight: the pizzas are delicious and perfectly crispy, the crusts are thin but not paper-thin, and the toppings are balanced with fresh flavor. I do wish there were more items on the menu that are ready-to-go vegan. They have vegan "cheez" and can make the vegetarian pizzas vegan by swapping the cheeses, but I find there is something left wanting. A few--maybe one or two--curated, specifically vegan pizzas would bump this up to a 5-star rating. Same goes for the sandwiches; I have a hard time ordering when there is a lot of ambiguity in ingredients. Sometimes the servers don't know whether a menu item has dairy or egg in it, so having a few "safe" items on the menu that I can order without modifications or asking the server would be stunning. read more
