    Made To Order Omlet
    Paul K.

Skyline Kitchen and Bar at Oglebay is a new dining concept at the lodge in the space of the former Glassworks Grill / Ihelenfeld Dining Room, which has undergone a beautiful and much-needed renovation, and the results are impressive. The newly remodeled space feels fresh, modern, and inviting--definitely a big step up from its previous look. We visited for the breakfast buffet, which offered a solid mix of staples: scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, pastries, toast--you name it. But the real highlight was the made-to-order omelet, egg, and waffle bar. I love that touch of customization, and it really elevated the overall experience. Service was admittedly slow and stayed that way throughout our visit, which may be one of the tradeoffs of the buffet-style setup. Still, the staff was kind, and the pace didn't take away too much from the meal. No, it's not Bob Evans pricing--but I think it's fairly priced for a resort setting and a great option for hotel guests or locals meeting family for a casual breakfast. All in all, I'm very pleased with the updates and excited to come back and try lunch or dinner sometime soon!

    Chocolate mint pie (also delicious)

This place is beautiful with an amazing view, but you should come here for the amazing food! We had the meat lovers pizza, the pig and fig pizza, the short rib sandwich and a hamburger. All of it was absolutely delicious! And our server Debbie was perfect, bringing us everything we needed and answering all our questions. Wonderful experience !

    Tin can nachos

This was our second time dining here and we were pleased both times. Ordered the tin can nachos both times! The cornbread is fantastic and they make a decent lemon drop martini. Decided to try the least ordered item on the menu, the baked Alaska (pictured). We tried it so you don't have to- don't do it! The bean soup was also not that great, no flavor.

The place was beautiful for Christmas and the host was special to us. We loved the breakfast buffet before checking out of the lodge. Has the soupbeans and sweet cornbread muffins the night before.

Went here today for lunch with my grandma. The ambiance was very nice. The place was open and bright with lots of windows to see the beautiful area. The staff were friendly but the service was somewhat slow. I really enjoyed my French onion soup which was very flavorful. However my fish and fries were lackluster. The fish was overcooked and had not much flavor. My grandma did enjoy her sandwich though. I'd be open to trying this place again. Especially for their dinner menu instead of Lunch. (Places should just serve their whole menu all day)

excellent food excellent service excellent ambiance The atmosphere is sublime the views are gorgeous and accommodating. The new pastry chef is incredible as far as we're concerned the best place to dine in Wheeling WV

Good food and service. This is a nice experience and a step up from the usual casual dining in the Wheeling area.

There aren't a ton of tables but enough to accommodate 20-30 people in total across various tables. The menu was a little intimidating for me as brunch isn't anything I've ever had. But it's basically a breakfast menu and a lunch menu. They also have a nice bakery selection as well. I went with the caprese and a salad. I made a slight mistake and didn't read everything that came on the sandwich. As an avid carnivore I was a little disappointed to find out it was vegetarian, but that was before I tried it. The combination of the creamy mozzarella, tomato and balsamic was fantastic. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Im hoping the next time we stop in they aren't out of their salty bread to try with it. My wife tried the turkey, Brie and apple butter sandwich. Her's was my favorite of the two. They lightly toast the sandwich so everything is warm and creamy. The apple butter pairs nicely with the Brie and the smokey turkey. I'd recommend both of our sandwiches but if mine was an 8/10 hers was a 10 for me. I also had their house salad on the side. It wasn't anything extra special but the cranberries were a really nice touch to take it to the next level. If I had even one complaint to make it would be the hours. I'm sure they close at 2 because most people because they're a brunch spot, but with the quality of their food i would eat it for any meal of the day. I can't recommend it enough honestly.

When we walked in, there was an unsmiling staff member who just continued to stamp bags while we awkwardly just stood there. However, the rest of the staff was friendly. They have a great menu with interesting options. My husband enjoyed his breakfast sandwich. My quiche was tasty, but while piping hot on the outside, it wasn't even room temp in the middle. I also didn't like having to drink my water out of a plastic cup, but would be happy to stop by this place again

It is located in the Centre Market, along with many other shops and food spots. The girls working were very nice and lovely to converse with! We asked if they do a "medicine ball" -type drink, and one of the girls texted another person to make sure it was correctly made (she said not explicitly on the menu but they make it at customers request!) We got the tea, a seasonal latte, and a drink from their surprise jar. They have a jar with various drinks on pieces of paper, and you can pick one at random to be made if you are looking for something new or want a surprise! I never saw this before at a coffee shop and thought it was awesome. All of the drinks were great and the shop's ambiance is quaint and cozy. They are in the market amongst other shops, and have plenty of seats and tables to spread out at. If I lived in the area, I would come here to hang out or to meet up with friends. Would highly recommend the shop and will stop back when I am in the area!

But…read morefor my wife's and I anniversary I wanted to play the junk box at 4:45 PM on March 10, 2026, to play Music Groups, Aerosmith, "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing", and Savage Garden, "I Knew I Loved You". So I approached the juke box, and the bar tender Whoever said, that this is a family-owned restaurant, and they don't play the juke box during the day, because it is a family restaurant, but they have the Game Room, playing crude country music that doesn't respect the family, and they say my music is going make trouble. Plus they can have restricted stuff from not playing, instead, I felt singled out as a guest there. Yes, you can have your double standard rules, because this is America, and the freedom to do whatever you feel like, but that does not mean I have to go there to be singled. I don't have to go back there. The first time was great in January, but on my wife and I anniversary of 26 years, I think I can find a place where I feel more welcomed. It is always the case of passing a great place down through the family, in order for it feel unwelcomed of the glory days. Yes, I know this place has been around since the 1990's, but it is a very unwelcoming place. You can act nice, while showing you didn't want us there. They said it was because Karaoke was at 7PM, while a minute song at 4:45PM. While they didn't even know what songs I was going to place. Again, I thought it would be an old-fashioned feel. Thus instead, I felt the Cold Ridged Religious Feel that was a double standard of Gambling Rooms and so forth. Yes, I went to seminary and everything else, but I am going to let everyone choose their own path. They have their ridged rules, but that does not mean I have to eat there, especially for anniversaries. It is not an anniversary or a place for specially occasions. Again, it doesn't bother me one bit, because I move on, but I am raised with certain values to tell what I believe. My wife felt the onion soup was too breaded and cheesy. They had a great Salad and Gluten Free Pizza. And the bathrooms are clean when I went in there, but I don't feel welcomed there. Like you're a stranger that should never return. I just wonder.
