Swiss "Bliss" Steak
Emmett W.

Waited over an hour to pick this "Swiss Bliss Steak" up. You can probably imagine my disappointment Not recommended

Greco's buffett, always out of stock.
Joaquin L.

This buffett is terrible. They charge you just to have no product available to eat. No pizza, no dessert pizza, no chicken wings. There's some lettuce and dressing available. Mostly empty pans. They continue to let people in the restaurant though, but it's 30 min plus in between them dropping a single pizza at the buffett for the entire restaurant. Won't ever return.

The water left after they microwaved our cold plates and thawed the food the rest of the way out.

I go here just for the chocolate chip dessert pizza. So worth it. They also have a buffet style lunch if you are looking for variety.

Had the lunch buffet & it was delicious. The salad was fresh, pizza hot & different variety and the pineapple brown sugar was great.

Fantastic I like…read moretotally flew by the seat of my pants when I planed the West Virginia portion of our trip. Wheeling seemed to be somewhere in the vicinity of our drive to Morgantown tomorrow so I decided to stay the night. Looking for a place for dinner, I stumbled upon this place on Yelp in wheeling. Little did I know what an iconic place this is. We arrived at 5:15 on a Wednesday evening bc we are getting old. A couple leaving at 5:15 made us see our future. We were fortunately seated immediately. The inside is SO CUTE. I can't get enough of it. It felt like such an authentic Italian experience. Our server was incredible. So nice, personable, helpful. We started with our beverage orders. I went with a little something off their cocktail menu the elderflower martini which, exactly as I expected, was way more like spiked juice than a "martini" but I wouldn't want it any other way. Don't think I wasn't intrigued by the fried cheese but we have been eating a fair amount of that lately so instead of offering an app, I opted for an entree (stuffed rigatoni) and a side of broccoli. GF ordered fettuccine with red clam sauce. She got a house salad and I didn't for some reason. The broccoli was seasoned wonderfully but the texture wasn't as crisp as I would have liked. The rigatoni and the house sauce was ORGASMIC. That sauce is incredible I would gladly buy it by the jar. The rigatoni were al dente pillows of creamy ricotta heaven. Spectacular. GF regarding her red clam sauce pasta, "delicious". We also ordered the tiramisu to go so stay tuned on that.

Our waitress was friendly and went above and beyond the whole time we were there. They give you bread and butter with your meal and it was really good. I ordered wedding soup and ate every last bite or sip of it. For my entree I went with the classic spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious. The sauce was perfect and they sell jars of it that you can take home with you. I had a great experience here and will definitely be back.

The wait staff was attentive, and the food arrived quickly. The prices were quite good as well. The downside to the meal is the taste of the water. This flavors everything from the fresh water itself, to the drinks, to the wonderful looking freshly made pasta. I don't know if it's the city water, or something in the pipes, but my wife, children, friends, and I all found the taste of the pasta not to our liking. Upon tasting my son's water, since he complained about the taste, we found the pasta to have this same taste. We never want to have just one try of a restaurant, as sometimes things change over time. We revisited three additional times, hoping the tastes had changed over the last year. (Actually, we forgot about the taste of the water before the second visit, but we were reminded quickly.) The taste of the water hasn't improved, and unfortunately, it continued to flavor the pasta. We did discover after a ball game that the water seems to be a local issue as the fast food places nearby have the same taste. If they were to move to a location with better tasting water, or filter it in some way, this would be a great place to eat.

And that's where it pretty much ended for me. We were greeted by 2 individuals prior to being sat. Once we were sat I was told I couldn't have any outside drinks. I was carrying a hot tea in a paper cup when we walked in. No one else mentioned this. I later read a posting in the bathroom about outside drinks being prohibited. Seemed like it was mostly to prevent outside alcohol but was a blanket statement for all drinks. I thought it was odd I had to take my hot tea back to my car. Besides that the waitress wasn't super warm and friendly either. If I remember correctly she started with, "what are you drinking?" After I had to walk my tea to our parked vehicle. The food was mid. Very very mid. I got a salmon savory crepe. The salmon was dry, almost white in color and just seemed old. The crepe itself was chewy and hard to cut. My husband's wrap was decent. Kids plates were also decent. I liked that you "created" their plate from 3 categories or options. Overpriced for quality and portion. Once our food arrived there was a swarm of gnats that came with it. Our table was wobbly so cutting any food shook the entire surface. Our toddler caught on to this and wanted to rock the table the whole time. So between holding the table, trying to cut food and swatting gnats away.. it just wasn't a good experience all together. I'm confident there are better options in town for us to try when we return.

It was big enough to share with three people! This is the type of restaurant that has silly names for everything on their menu. For example, Crepes of Wrath is a savory crepe with sausage, and Banana-fo-Fana has bananas and granola in it. Usually, I refuse to say these silly names out loud when I order, and instead will just order according to the ingredients. ("Give me the Nutella and berries crepe.") I know. I'm that person! You don't want to take me to a silly-names restaurant, because I will ruin your silly-names experience. In this case, though, the silly names are so pervasive throughout the menu that I was overwhelmed and I just gave up. Sometimes, you just have to grit your teeth and play along. Yes, I did say, "Give me the Last Tango." Before the crepe, though, we got lunch. Later Alligator has a huge sandwich menu. At least two dozen different sandwiches! Then there's wraps, salads, appetizers and a kids' menu. I got the Fowl Play (sigh), which is chicken salad with lettuce and tomato on a croissant. My oldest kid got the Club Car, which included ham, turkey, Swiss cheese and lettuce. In case you were wondering: The silly names extend to the kids menu, too! (Which Wich Tuna Fish is just one example.) My younger kid got the Munchkin (mac and cheese). The kids' mac and cheese here is a mini cup, so just keep that in mind if your child eats a lot. Both of my children eat like birds, so the size of the mac and cheese wasn't a problem for us. This is also the type of restaurant that has interesting things everywhere you look (including the restroom!), so take some time to look around at all of the paraphernalia everywhere.

While visiting the area we made a reservation to eat here on a Saturday night over the Labor Day…read moreweekend. We had a little trouble finding the place, but when we did it is fair to say that the building is huge. I can see why someone may want to host a shower or even a wedding here. Well I made reservations but it wasn't at all necessary. I requested a table outside but I kind of wished I didn't because the outdoor lighting on the upstairs deck was very poor. It was hard to see anything. Also as I stated the outdoor seating is upstairs through some large rooms, sort of a maze to maneuver around. Not to mention we were the only patrons out here. In retrospect they probably could have told us no, but they accommodated my request. We started off with an appetizer of Stratford's Asparagus. It consisted of asparagus spears wrapped in thin tenderloin strips, char-grilled and crusted with a blend of sugars, served with a hollandaise and sweet teriyaki blend. The appetizer was really great, my only complaint was the hollandaise sauce broke and they could have done away with the teriyaki altogether. It gave the sauce a sweet element that I didn't care for, but the asparagus was wonderfully cooked as was the tenderloin. Next we ordered our entrees. I decided on the Chilean Sea Bass grilled. It came with some sautéed vegetables. As we waited for our entrees we enjoyed watching what was left of the sun go down. It was very pretty, but as I remarked rather dark. Also being the only table up here every time our waitress came to check on us it almost always resulted in her having to go back downstairs to bring us something whether a refill or whatnot. She claimed she liked the exercise, but I am sure it annoyed her. Our entrees came out and they looked great. My fish was cooked right on, and the veg and fish were nicely seasoned. I do have to say, for my personal taste they used WAY too much butter. My fish and vegetables were swimming in a pond of butter. I know butter makes things taste better to some, but for me I wouldn't have ordered grilled fish and veggies if I wanted to pack on the calories. Overall though it was very tasty and I would order again in a heartbeat with a special request of no butter.

It took 30-35 minutes to get our food and we were the only table in the restaurant (in hind sight that should have been our first sign) I don't consider myself to be particularly "picky" so when I say this food was completely inedible, please believe that I wouldn't even feed it to my dog- and I really mean that. I wasn't impressed with the service either. In the 35 minutes it took to get our food after ordering, we only saw the server once. After taking one bite of our food, we asked for the check and the server dropped it off and ran. I think she knows, because I'm sure she's seen this a million times before. Still, kind of disgusting service to not ask if everything's okay or if there was anything she could do.
